Simply put, the Pens are just the better team. I'm still on board until the end of the series but we all know its probably over. A Detroit/Pittsburgh final should be great.

Note to Flyers and Stars: Take the "L" out of lover, and it's OVER.

If both the Pens and the Wings sweep, the Finals probably will start early next week, right? I can't remember a Finals starting this early in the last 10 years, because of the short duration of the recent series. Not a single conference semi went seven, and both of the conference finals could be over in four.

That was a SICK move last night by Hossa on his goal.

Take care,
PK

Yeh these short series suck i hope the final goes 7 but i dont think even the Pens can hang with Detroit that one will be over in 4 or 5 too.

The last time the Cup was awarded in May was 1991, when the Pens won. I don't think history will repeat itself this year, as I see the Finals going at least six games.

PIT payed a very steep prize for M. Hossa. But he's making everyone a believer in him, usually you make those type of moves in regular season but in a playoff game? Wow! If you guys look at both DET and PIT's benches, you see guys talking, smiling, thery just breathe confidence to each other. They hardly put a sweat in these playoffs.

The Pens play such a patient, defensively-tight game I can't imagine them going out in 4 or 5 games no matter how good the Wings are.

And Hossa has been great. He is clearly relishing not being asked to carry the load as Malkin and Crosby fill that role, and has been skating really hard backchecking. Compared to most of his playoffs appearances with OTT he must be loving this. If the Pens fall short in the finals, I could definitely see Hossa taking less money from PIT to have another shot at it with Crosby and Malkin.

Is it me or has this been one of the more boring NHL playoffs in a while. In previous years, the teams are so much more closer 1 thru 8, it makes for better games. But this year Det and Pitt are so much more better than the rest of the bunch, the games have been boring at times.

If you're including the first two rounds, then it's just you. Don't forget that Nashville were giving Detroit fits and game 5 of that series went to OT.

But the Conference Finals have been one sided and a bit boring, at least until tonight. The goalie interference call on Holmstrom was so ridiculous I can't say much more about it, but the Stars probably deserved this win.

That's the break that the DAL Stars needed to stay alive another day, but needless to say the call on 'Homer' was BS. Eriksson's goal was clearly in the crease, but despite the bad call, this is the best game that DAL played yet against DET. They kept the pressure on, even though they couldn't buy a goal and 'Ozzie' was sharp. B. Morrow is the heart and soul for DAL.

H. Zetterberg is the best two way forward in my book. The guy kills penalties, plays the PP, and scores.

Nyet. As much as it pains me to say it, I'll take Iginla over Zetterberg. Iginla has a nasty, physical edge to his game that Zetterberg lacks. He's also more of a leader.

Detroit got screwed last night on the Homer goal. Horrible call.

Some NHL tampering on tap in Dallas i feel. Everytime a goal is reviewed my bet is the decision goes to the team down in the series, not always but watch.
Call me a conspiracy theorist on this one but the longer hockey goes the better, for every one.

Lets hope Philly can get some calls and do the same tonight.

Naples i know what your saying but Detroit has a bit more talent at forward and on offensive defensemen, they could do it. I hope your righ,t hate to see one sided finals.

Boring ? No way, Inuyasha eh.
Loving it, great TV.

Not a bad choice, but I don't think he's on the PK unit as often as the Swede. Physically, no doubt the edge goes to Iggy.

Maybe the Zebras are trying to even their share of dubious calls as I thought Homer did interfere in the goal he scored in game one. Regardless, a lousy call that gave DAL some momentum.

I'd take Zetterberg since he's three years younger.

Flyers could easily be up 5-0 if they had better aim in the first period. M.A. Fleury wasn't that sharp last game and I thought they should have tested him more. He's giving lots of rebounds, something M. Biron is not.

I dont know if the Penguins thought the series was over or what but the Flyers are straight up kicking ass.

Send a search party for Malkin.

What was with Crosby shying away from the front of goal?

Looks like at least one more game in each series now.

EDit: Note to Upshal...when team is up 3-0 dont look for 2.

All that physical stuff everyone was waiting for in this series is finally set for game five. Flyers will get a nice boost if Timonen gets clearance to play.

Marty Turco just put on a show for DAL. Sooner or later he had to win at the Joe Louis. I had DET in seven, so let's hope they can win at home again.
