That's simply a lie. I know you're an Oilers fan, but you just about melted down when Hull controlled the puck into the crease and gave the Stars a much deserved Stanley Cup and I've seen you still acting pissed off it about in threads on this forum. By the way, when exactly did you hop on that Edmonton dynasty bandwagon?

Your problem is that you hate the Flyers so much that you can't accept their fans ever have legitimate cause for complaint.

Uh, no, it's not. I have mentioned it a few times since I first mentioned it -- in 1999 at another forum. It has not been a repeated post in this or any other hockey thread this year.

The Sabres got screwed on that one play, and I moaned. It also doesn't hurt that the winner was Dallas, which I despise. But it's not a repeated pattern of complaints like Flyer Nation.

And pissed off? No, I just felt and still do feel for the loyal fans of Western New York, who deserve a Cup. But I don't feel personally aggrieved by it. One bad call, that's all. Not an endless litany of moaning about every penalty, like Flyer Nation.

The 1981-82 season, when I was a junior in high school. The Oil has been my passion ever since. Never fell off the wagon, even during the lean years.

Were you following the Flyers in 1981-82, by the way? Was there much NHL coverage in New Zealand then?

Actually, I hate Calgary, New Jersey and Anaheim more than I hate the Flyers. In fact, I detest the Flyers' ever-persecuted, woe-is-me fan base more than I dislike the team!

But now that the Flames, Devils and Ducks are gone, the Flyers are Public Enemy No. 1 for me.

No, I was four years old then, and New Zealand only had two TV channels, neither of which showed any ice hockey outside of the Winter Olympics. I did read today that it was the 81-82 and 82-83 Flyers that wore those god-awful Cooperalls I've seen on NHL Network when they show Gretzky highlights.

I started following them in 1993, when I was halfway thru high school and ESPN International had become available on pay TV.

Oh, dear: That's part of Flyers' history you want to forget. Hartford and the Flyers wore those hideous Cooperalls!

Trivia question for the day, hockey fans: That Flyer on the right still holds one of the most hallowed NHL offensive records, set when he played for a different team for which he is an absolute legend to this day. Name him, and the record.

Though to be fair, Feanor called the Richards penalty ludicrous, but no Flyers fan on here said the game was stolen. Good thing you're not a baseball guy PK, or I'd hate to hear what you think of Red Sox fans!

Here's actual replays of the two calls in question that directly led to game-tying goals, so you can make up your own mind.

I think slo-mo replays clearly show the refs got it wrong, but you have to admit at full speed from the side it appears to be a trip, so it's hard to blame the refs for missing one.

As I said earlier, Kovalev swings down, hits the puck then follows through into the crossbar. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that necessarily means he hit the puck above the crossbar. I might be able to swallow it if the NHL said replays were inconclusive, but they said replays conclusively showed goal which to me is inexplicable.

What's done is done though. I just hope the Flyers can turn in another solid effort tomorrow night.

Also, if Modry and Smith were the goats of the Cap series for being on the ice for 90% of the Caps goals, I'll predict Hatcher will be the goat this series. On a few plays last night he looked like a statue as MTL players blew by him in the neutral zone. I can only hope he decides to retire this offseason (and gives us some cap space in the process).

Sittler had 10 points in one game, six goals and four assists, in February 1976 against Boston. It's an NHL record for the most points in a game, and I think it's going to stand for a very, very long time.

I can't imagine a team scoring 10 goals very often now in the NHL, let alone one guy having a hand in every goal.

Haha yeah it was 10pts...i dont know why i was thinking 9. Some team scored 10 goals after the all star break this year if i remember correctly...i could be wrong. I want to say it was Washington or Carolina.

I'm a Western Conference guy to the core, but for some odd reason I'm more compelled by the second-round matchups in the East than the West.

Habs-Flyers and Rangers-Pens are interesting me more than Sharks-Stars and Wings-Avs. Maybe it's because I see the Western teams so much more during the regular season, being an Oilers' fan.

Either way, any pucks is good pucks. Roll on!

I have equal interest on all four games, what a surprise from a guy that lives in Canada, eh? The SJ-DAL could be the most physical one of them all, COL-DET is always interesting to follow playoff or no playoff, the Avs may miss some key players and back to the East, I look forward to the sleeve of stupid antics that S. Avery will have ready for the Pens, but more importantly I look ahead to G. Laraque beating the crap out of him in a game that maybe out of reach for PIT. Habs-Flyers should intensify their gameplay from yesterday.

It's only the second period, but with the score already 4-0 for the Wings, something is clearly bothering Jose Theodore' game. Of course no one will say anything as to why he left game one, but he's not the same player that brought them here up to this point. Wings have that speed and skill game upfront that the Avs don't seem to be able to contain.

The unsung hero of these playoffs is J. Franzen from DET. While everyone is focusing on Zettterberg, Datsyuk and Lidstrom, Franzen has been putting some impressive numbers including a hot trick today (his backhand goal was a beauty). He's big and he's not afraid to park himself in the crease making his teammate T.Holmstrom proud. He's been the most consistent player for the Wings during the last 20 games of the season and now he's shinning big time for DET. Good player.

After two games, I think we have a chance. Our last two regular season games with the Habs were nailbiters, and we could very easily be up 2-0 after two playoff games in Montreal. Buckle your seatbelts, we might be in for another long series.

The Canadiens first goal was kinda funny. Jeff Carter lost his mind and cross-checked Kovalev down when the puck was dead and the Flyers were already shorthanded. But the refs sent Braydon Coburn to the penalty box instead.

Then when Koivu scored the camera zooms in on Coburn getting out of the penalty box, when they should have been looking for Carter's guilty face on the bench.

Biron is stepping up big time. We got ourselves a series. Playoff hockey is so much fun to watch...it is another level. I will say this, The Bell Centre is one hell of a venue for hockey. Great atmosphere. Game 3 can't come quick enough!

I thought the Habs played a pretty strong game last night...definitely much better than the game 1 and better than most of their round 1 performances.

On the one hand the Flyers have withstood a pretty strong punch from the Habs and got the split, and could very easily be up 2-0.

On the other hand the Flyers were heavily outshot and relied on Biron to play his best game of the season.

Series could either way back in Philly.
