To no ones' surprise looks like the cleanup will start with R. Emery, as the team is rumored to buy out his contract which is still good for two more years.

Habs were just listless tonight, BOS just played their best game yet.

Great action between PHI-WAS. Going into OT, both goalies were just outstanding.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

What a freakin' game! The Upshall-Carter-Knuble line killed it tonight. Biron and Huet were spectacular in the third period and the first OT.

3-1!

Biron was terrific, apart from some crazy puck handling at the end of the third that almost gave the game away.

The Boston win is a real surprise, especially the four goal margin.

The Flyers roster advantages on paper are clearly playing out on the ice. Both teams have average goaltending and a forgettable defense, but the big difference is the Flyers huge advantage in forward depth. The Flyers can put out 3 lines that can score, where the Caps are pretty much all Ovechkin line or nothing.

And is there a worse defenseman in the playoffs than Modry? The guy has been on the ice for ALL 11 goals the Caps have scored this series. That statistic is pretty mindblowing if you think about it. Jason Smith hasn't been much better, being on the ice for 10 of 11. The guy still gives it his all, but he is dreadful with the puck. Turnovers feel inevitable when he has the puck in the defensive zone, and he has fanned on several shooting chances this series.

How bout them Preds tying the game with 43 seconds left to force OT? Could this be another Detroit early exit? I sure as hell hope so. Go Preds!

Well put. Every time Modry touched the puck on Thursday my heart was in my throat.

Tell me Patrick Thoresen isn't the most under rated player for the Flyers in the series. He has been doing a great job.

The entire Senators D?

NJ is done for a few reasons. J. Jagr is playing in his zone again and he's been doing it since the last dozen games of the regular season, Scotty Gomez ends up haunting his old teammates as I predicted, (this guy just shows up at this time of the year) and M. Brodeur just did not play up to his standards.

The big guys in ANA showed up to avoid elimination, I have a feeling it'll go to seven games now.

LOL... Sean Avery called Martin Brodeur "fatso" in a post-game interview after Brodeur skipped past Avery in the end of series handshake.

The fatso bit starts at about 3:35.

What a wild third period in BOS tonight. Great entertainment, the Bruins are playing tough and have that no-die attitude in the last couple of games. I wonder if all that pressure for being number one and playing in the playoffs is finally getting to C. Price. Game seven will tell.

Theodore is playing like he was back in 2002, A. Foote covered M. Gaborik like a blanket the entire series which explains his lousy single point for a player of his caliber, and oh yeah that ageless Burnaby Joe. The Avs may surprise a lot of people yet.

I will root for Boston because every freaking NHL 08 online player who uses Montreal are a bunch of cheating bastards.

Oh yeah! Big win for those boys, someone woke up AO with a big hit and that's just what he needed. Along Huet, he was the reason they force a game seven. Gotta love games sevens. Look forward to this series, and the SJ one trying to make their home advantage count.

Nice recovery by Price last night for the Habs. A shutout is the best way to silence the doubters.

There are few venues in sport as electric as the Bell Centre for a Game 7. What atmosphere. Now ... outside the rink, that's another story. WTF is wrong with those people?

Go Caps tonight! Pretty hard for me to root for Calgary in the Western Game 7, so go Sharks.

Take care,
PK

I was pleasantly surprised.

That goal by streit was a thing of beauty.

Woot. :)

What makes this win extra sweet is the obvious, but under reported dirty hits from the Caps that went unpenalized. Richards getting elbowed right in the face by Backstrom earlier in the series when he didn't even have the puck, Kukkonen getting his face split open when it was rammed into the glass last night.... karma's a b*tch, Caps fans.

Overall, I think both teams got their share of the marginal decisions over the 7 games, but I just can't stand when illegal hits that can end careers don't get penalized.

I was at games 5, 6 and 7. I think the Flyers stole one tonight, but I'll take it!

The way the series has gone, the Flyers were the better team in games 1-4, and the Caps were the better team in games 5-7. Each team stole a win they didn't 'deserve', but that's the breaks. I was actually convinced the Flyers would win game 6 at home, and was feeling pretty dejected after blowing that 2-0 lead, but the Flyers were due for a little luck and time is the luxury earned by a 3-1 series lead.

As for the officiating, my biased perspective is that the Caps got a lot of questionable calls in games 1-3, and 5 and 6. Flyers got the benefit of the doubt tonight and game 4, though it's hardly like the Caps didn't get away with a few blatant things in those games either. I also think the Caps threw some cheapshots on Timonen and Richards (more than one on him actually), but I thought the hit that bloodied Kukkonen was clean.

Most of all I'm glad the Flyers finally won a damn game I attended. I was 0-3 before tonight, and almost considered not going!

Sorry for the rambling post. Let's go Flyers! :)

Thats what it looked like to me too...but it is a 7 game series and over the 7 games Its hard to argue that the better team didnt win.
