I get the sense that Jin is still alive after looking back at when Sun was giving birth and seemed to overly freak out when the nurse wanted to remove her wedding ring, also Hurley and Sun going to the gravesite could be just for show as they may know someone is watching them and they have to put on a show that Jin is really dead.

I'm not sure if Aaron is counted in the six or not.

If Jin was a flashback (which looks like it was), his flashback served absolutely no purpose other than a cheap writer's device....

I agree it was manipulative, but I think it served another purpose as well. It gave the viewer a taste of "Bad" Jin, and juxtaposed that side of him with the mature version. It made the fishing scene, the reconciliation with Sun and the final scene more powerful to see how he had changed...or how the island had changed him :)

Agree on all points.

I just don't understand why you watch this show. You've dropped hints several times you're in the industry, I'm going to bet not with ABC. :D

I think most people would agree with me that it was cheap. I didn't mean to offend the fans (I know critiquing Lost among fans is dangerous territory).

Agreed, that I often wonder why I watch the show. I blame my wife. I can't say I feel smarter for watching it. As far as who I work for - It's not ABC, but I'll be over at Disney on next week...

Jin's piece was definitely a trick, but I thought it was a good trick. Let's face it, part of the appeal of Lost is to mess with your head.

I think Aaron is part of the Six, so I believe we have seen them all.

I can understand why people dislike Lost, why the story wouldn't be appealing. But to criticize it for spending too much time on the backgrounds of the characters and taking its time -- that's exactly what TV needs more of. In less competent hands, the characters would never get beyond their surface stock traits. Instead, many of them are well rounded and three dimensional, which makes it easier for viewers to care about the characters. That's the hardest thing for a writer to do.

Let me clarify I am not saying you can't complain, but I have never once read a positive thing from you on this show. Each week when someone posts a comment you show up to say why you don't like it. So I really can't comprehend why you would watch it.

I agree this weeks episode was a total mind f***, plain and simple. As soon as the show was over I said to my wife this is the line in the sand show. People who hate Lost, this is probably the last straw for them and people who enjoy the show probably dug it.

Although I liked the Michael "Kevin Johnson" episode last night, especially considering he wasn't on at all the entire last season, it would have been nice to see how he got from the island to New York. That part was never explained.

While last nights episode did help advance the story I didn't like a lot of things.

- Mr. happy being gay, thats just a acknowledgment to the message board fanatics. I don't like it when shows start to pander like that.

- A different actor playing the 5 second clip of Walt. Why even show him at all? I know why they did it but it was just useless IMO.

- Sayid turning Michale / Kevin in after his story? Sayid is my favorite character, he is usually so smart and cautious of everyone. I'm not sure how Michael re-telling his tale would have Sayid do what he did, it seemed out of character to me.

You can't nail every episode, but now with a 5 week break I wish we had ended on another one.

Ummm...HELLO!?!?!

Apparently no one cares about this show anymore...

Interesting show last week huh?

**SPOILERS**

So Ben controls the Smoke Monster!?!? Do you think that was the original plan all along or they just threw that in to start flushing out that story line again???

Some decent twists. Does anyone understand or think thye knwo what Ben is referring to when he says "they changed the rules"?

Well, I've been criticized for always bashing the show. So all I'll say is the most interesting part for me was wondering who those three "generic" people were in the camp right before the 'army guys' SMOKED them. I can just see the phone call from their agents':

"I got good news & bad news"

"Yeah?"

"I got you a part on Lost!"

"Awesome! What's the bad news?"

"You get smoked in after 2 seconds of screen time..."

Yeah, those redshirts were hoo-larious. They didn't even get enough face time to be redshirts.

That said, show is awesome!

Having friends who are actors, it's always fascinating to see those generic "get shot guys". There were 3 in that episode that magically appeared in the camp. The first guy got one line-off (something like "hey sawyer"), then got smoked. The next 2 just ran out & got shot. The guy with the "hey sawyer" line made more money than the 2 who were just shot (per SAG rules) since he had a line. Oh well, it'll look good on a resume.

good times...

I keep seeing that Ben controls the smoke monster written, I just didn't come to that conclusion while watching it. I honestly though all he did was go down to some secret room and deactivate the security system which is what keeps the monster at bay.

However people said he came back covered in Ash, so maybe he needed to provoke the monster in some way.

What I found interesting is he can't kill Widmore, obviously something deeper is going on there.

Not much was made of the passing of Rousseau or Alex.

In the past when they kill off people, they devote some flashbacks to them and make their passing an event.

Almost as if this time, they got other directions to pursue so these deaths are not as momentous as previous deaths.

Interesting that Lost didn't even make the top 20 in ratings for last week. Surprising...

I had PVR'ed last week's episode and so had the pleasure of watching the last 3 in a row (including the 2hr double header tonight)....

....wow. That was one heck of a wild ride, I really enjoyed it! Can't wait for next season (which is something I never thought I'd say after the garbage, IMO, that was Season 3).

I thought the finale was great last night but....

Did anyone else find a lot of the action to be very anti-climactic considering you knew so much about the future already?

I mean, I would have expected the scene where they get off the island to be one of the most dramatic in recent television memory. However, because of all the "flash forwards", we basically knew who got off and that it wasn't a means for celebration. When watching last night, it was pretty obvious that Sawyer for example would be the one to jump off the heli and that Jin would be left behind. Those scenes would have been a lot more interesting had the future not been given away already.

Don't get me wrong - there was a lot of cool "new" stuff last night and next season promises to pretty intriguing.

you know when they bring locke back to the island, he'll come back to life. Also, maybe the island is in the artic now.

Spoiler...

Inuyasha - I get the impression that the island has moved in time (the 4th dimension mentioned on the video) again so that the island has not physically moved anywhere like the artic, it is still sitting in the same location, just another hour into the future... That explains all the weird time shift occurances during the season. Kind of a cool way to hide something...[/b]

Enjoyed it. Can't wait to see the state of the island when the Six inevitably return. That slow, creeping shot of who was in the casket was so cheap, manipulative, and fun. My girlfriend and I were digging our nails into eachother in anticipation of the reveal. I assume Inuyasha right about what happens when his body gets a sniff of that island goodness.

As for moving the island in time, I think that's probably right... and yet it still doesn't make sense to me. If they moved it an hour into the future, does it constantly stay there, just out of grasp? Or does it pop back into existence after a while? I guess the first option would indeed be a good hiding place from Widmore. Curious to hear Ben's ideas about how to re-reach it. Michael Emerson is so good, by the way.

Since Locke made it out, I guess others will have too? But secretly and not announced like the 6?

The question is who is back at the island that I give a rats ass about now? Sawyer..sure. The blonde doc...not really. Claire...she hiding from everyone anyway. Locke is dead. Not much a "cliffhanger" for next season. I guess we'll see...
