Won't know until they try it.

MVP with multitap worked fine. Better in many respects than NBA Live or FIFA.

One guy pitched and controlled the infield, other guy controlled outfield.

On offense, it was easier for one to concentrate on batting and another on moving the runners and vice versa.

Certainly more useful than putting in the Japanese leagues or the Dominican leagues or whatever.

I watched innings 4-6, and I must say it looks pretty darn good. Picking up the pitch looks to be better than last year. The intuitiveness of the pitching has me intrigued, and I did see a fair share of balls thrown. Not everything was in the strike zone.

The animations are definitely improved. Fieldings looks fluid and fun. I'm excited now to try this game. Hopefully, the PSN demo will be out tomorrow.

I am looking forward to trying out the new analog controls. If it's anything like NHL08, then I will be very pleased w/ this game.

I watched inning 4 and came away partly impressed as well. I like the fielding camera they use in this game...looks more like a TV broadcast than the ones in the Show.

He was using the "aerial" camera. I like how it looked, not sure I could field successfully with it though.

It just amazes me that so many people can pass judgement on a game based on videos..... and on gameplay things. I could see if they said "it looks ugly", etc. but people are whining about meatball pitches, whether or not they can update the CPU lineups, and then when they find out they can but only before you play a game, they whine it should be done for the reast of the franchise.....

Heck, they were debating on the AIs use of the relievers in the video!

I thought working in the federal government gave me a good dose of negativity and whining, but going on OS shows me how good my life really is!

I have never liked the way MLB 2k moves. I don't think it ever looked that good.

But does any one know how deep the minors are (AAA, AA or A)? Which minor league stadiums are included? I read there were 12 real minor league ballparks but I can't find which ones they are.

I have liked what I have read and seen so far with this game. I have not played MLB 2K games in the past, maybe it is the novelty to me that has me interested.

Having a 360 and deciding at this time not to purchase a PS3, I look forward to giving this game a chance. If it plays a fairly solid game of baseball, I will be happy.

A whole slew of new screens on OS from their beta copy.

I'm liking the looks of all the sliders, if they actually work. We might be able to get a good game with good pitch counts!

I saw those too. Look good.

For those who may know or have played the game in the past, one of the screens has classic controls when hitting where you hit 'A' to swing and there is Influence Hit Type with the 'LS'. I believed hitting was strictly timing based. Any idea what the LS will do?

Screenshot 19 has the control layout for classic hitting.

I believe you can influence the hit, both on classic controls and the Swing Stick, but only pushing or pulling the ball.

There is no way of trying to hit grounders or fly balls.......

I loved the MVP model... I wish it was an option here.

Are you sure classic control isn't the same as the 2K7 hitting system? If it is, then it's exactly like the MVP one as well.

I didn't play 2k7, I only rented it. I thought in 2k7 you could also only influence the pushing or pulling of the ball, but not grounders or fly balls.

I don't know though.....

I just remember reading all the complaints on the hitting model last year. It sounds vastly improved this year, so I'm excited.... plus it's my first next gen baseball game....

Wii related news:

Some of the fun new Wii gameplay controls for Major League Baseball 2K8 include:

* Pitching – To pitch, players simply point the Wii Remote at the screen, pull back to start the pitcher’s motion, then flick the Wii Remote forward. The quicker the player flicks the remote, the more velocity and movement the pitch will have. The Nunchuk can be used to view a player’s pitch arsenal and to select which pitch to throw.

* Batting – Swinging for the fences with Major League Baseball 2K8 on Wii will provide fans with even more fun when they control the Wii Remote as if they were swinging a real bat. The Nunchuk acts to control the direction of the ball.

* Fielding – While controlling their designated player using the Nunchuk, players can snag fly balls and use the Wii Remote to throw to the appropriate base. Players can use Major League Baseball 2K8’s “Smart Throw” technology to throw to the best base by simply flicking the Wii Remote or can manually choose which base to throw to by pressing a direction on the directional pad.

* Baserunning – Players can control the speed of their baserunning by shaking the Wii Remote and Nunchuk simultaneously, then pushing both controllers to slide.

Major League Baseball 2K8, rated E for Everyone by the ESRB, will be available in retail stores on March 4, 2008, for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Wii™ home video game system, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system.

Today the color is GOLD!!!

in regards to the LS, I've always felt that I was able to influence which direction the ball would go, or able to move the bat in or out dependent on pitch location.

example: as a right handed hitter, if the ball was inside, I could "pull the bat head" in by pulling the LS to the left in order to get better contact and pull the ball to left, and to the right to get the best contact on pitches on the outside corner and taking the pitch to right field and hit behind a runner in a hit & run situation or an attempt to move the runner over.

but it coud be my imagination also.
