Site Avatar Policy

Post by Jared »

Our avatar policy is basically that if it's not safe for work (i.e. if a co-worker looks over your shoulder and has a problem with it), it's not allowed. A lot of people browse the DSP forums while at work, and we don't want to cause them any extra problems.

We'll usually ask you to take the avatar down, and then take it down ourselves if it hasn't been removed.

We won't ban people for questionable/borderline avatars, unless they are blatantly obscene or pornographic (then they will be eliminated immediately). The main thing to consider when choosing an avatar is it's work appropriateness and what others may/may not want to see.

If you want any clarification or have any questions, feel free to post here.

Hmmm, I'm currently working at an erotic magazine so it would take a lot to offend my co-workers, but other than that, it seems like a good policy.

I used to work in the Technology Dept at Victoria's Secret. Every once in a while they'd have models come in and try on new stuff from the buyers.

Cool gig. :P

Oh, I agree re: avatars.

Also, I've uploaded some random sports team logos from various places to the site...so if you want to choose from the logos that are on the server, you can search there (if you don't want to find something yourself). In your forum profile, choose "Select Avatar from gallery" to browse the current limited selection.

Feel free to browse and choose from those (they're mostly soccer clubs...but I'll upload others later...and if others have logos they want uploaded, let me know and I'll try and take care of it).

The correct one and the old school one are good. I put the one with glasses up there because I've never seen it before in my life (odd, considering I'm a Dolphins fan), and figured I'd add it to the collection.

Now I know you're the man if you're a Dolphins fan. Us Phins fans need to stick together. What do you think of the Boston aquisition now you we've found out who the player to be named later is?

Jamar Fletcher and a 6th rounder for one of the top 5 to 10 receivers in the game...can't argue with it too much.

Depends. He was a nutcase at Arizona...but he's back with his old receivers coach....so I think he'll be productive. Fletcher's a good DB, but we're pretty set in the secondary and need serious help at WR. If he can motivate himself, we got one hell of a deal. It's a big if, but it's definitely worth the risk. Last guy we traded for that people said was a headcase was....umm....who was it.....

Oh yeah. Ricky Williams. Hopefully Boston will work out like Ricky has.

Good point but I wouldn't call Fletcher a good DB. 2 picks in three seasons and barely keeping his nickle and dime CB spot. Plus, with the addition of Reggie Howard (Carolinas stud DB) there's no room for him...especially if Terrell (I'm old as dirt but I still make plays) Buckley is back.

I love Boston, always have, always will. I spent a lot of time watching him in Az when I was going to school so I know him well. Hopefully being reuinted with his old receivers coach can get him back on track...and off the roids.

I did think Randy McMichaels quote was hillarious when he said that he hopes they make the trade for Boston because they he can work out with him. Good stuff.

True...he's a decent DB, that'll get a chance to prove himself and get some playing time in Arizona. Howard is better, and as for Buckley......he always makes me nervous. Makes great picks or brain dead mistakes, with nothing else in between.

And I didn't see that McMichael quote. Pretty funny.

(And at minimum, this will give me someone in Madden to throw the ball to other than Chambers [or Gadsen, depending on the roster]).

LOL...no doubt about the video game implications...I've already added him to my Dolphins roster for ESPN NFL 2k4 and my franchise...lol. Had to make a trade mid-season but oh well...gotta do what you gotta do.

Speaking of Gadsden...wonder why the video game makers don't give that guy as good of a "catch" rating as he should have. That guy never drops balls and makes some of the greatest catches I've ever seen (Against Oakland a couple years ago in the playoffs for example). He's always got such a crappy rating. Sorry, had to vent about that cuz I really like him.

Put him in on 3rd downs to be the posession receiver and you've got quite a receiving corps. Can't wait till September.

After you select your avatar, you then have to make sure you then hit submit. Try doing that and it should (hopefully) work.

I picked it from the drop down list. It shows up next to the list (but very small). I click save changes, but it doesn't show up. If I go back to edit my account, it's already selected and shows up next to the drop-down list.

Can we only use the ones seen when hitting "list". There are a lot less there than in the drop-down list.

I think I see what's happening. Instead of choosing the logo from your account, do it through the forum. When you go to the forum, click on "profile" above the forum. Then go to the bottom and select your avatar. After selecting the avatar, it'll show up on the bottom. Hit submit, and it should work. Let me know what happens.

That way worked. I was going in via the "Your Account" link on the main menu.

Anyway you can show some appreciation for one of baseball's all-time storied franchises...the St. Louis Cardinals. I'm also sick that I see an Arizona Cardinals logo.

There should be two St. Louis Cardinals (baseball) logos to choose from now.
