Jared, didn't somebody have very positive impressions of NBA Live after playing it at an EA event this year? I want to say it was Bill Harris but I'm not 100% on that. I do remember someone writing that they were very impressed with Live after the event. Maybe it was looking pretty good in beta form and they screwed it up.

Abner said good things after E3 or something. I think that is what you're thinking of.ScoopBrady wrote:Jared, didn't somebody have very positive impressions of NBA Live after playing it at an EA event this year? I want to say it was Bill Harris but I'm not 100% on that.

I don't have the exact quote but Bill more or less said, that Live is heading in the right direction but did qualify that statement by saying it was still live.
Jared brings up a good point in that it's not so much that the previews are positive but that some are nothing more than rehashed press releases.
You would never see someone invited to a press junket say, "Well Madden lose more of less the same, and we saw very little improvements in the engine." Instead they will take the time to hype up exactly what the PR departments what hyped. In Madden's case, the gameplay previews all focused on weapons and how that was going to chage the way we played madden this year.

I THINK Bill Abner had a positive impression of Live 08, not Live 07 (which is what I was quoting before in the IGN piece). However, I could be mistaken about that.ScoopBrady wrote:Jared, didn't somebody have very positive impressions of NBA Live after playing it at an EA event this year? He liked it when he played a preview build...but then said it was a turd like everyone else when it released.Jared wrote:I THINK Bill Abner had a positive impression of Live 08, not Live 07 (which is what I was quoting before in the IGN piece).
