DSP 2007 sports game of the year

Vote and discuss here. This is for sports games only, released in 2007. When you vote, please list your top 3. They will be scored on a 5-3-1 basis. An example "ballot":

1. Bases Loaded 2
2. Tecmo Bowl
3. Blades of Steel

I'll tabulate the votes and announce the totals around the end of the year.

1. FIFA 08; Purely due to 10-man OTP which is easily enough to outweigh all the flaws

2. NHL 08; Again, thanks to its 6-man OTP, and this game is a much better game than FIFA, by far, but 10-man OTP in FIFA is too unique.

3. eh. OTP is such a big deal to me that nothing else deserves a mention.

FIFA 08 improved the most after being considered a joke by the diehard WE crowd. MLB 07 The Show improved once again but it's currently the best baseball game on the market.

NHL 08 improved once again but still needs a few more pieces to bring it to the top.

1) NBA 2k8--Best basketball game I've played since Inside Drive.

I can't think of another game I played this year that I would vote for. Worst year of sports gaming for me personally in a long, long time. I'm desperate enough to consider FIFA 08 after seeing some of these votes

Very telling that there are no golf or racing games in the lists so far.

Nor are they their own threads. What no Wii Sports?

Is it because games for those sports are bad or those are not really sports.

3. MLB 2k7 (360) - a baseball game that held my attention, though I might side with a prettier looking 'The Show' on PS3 next year.

MLB 2K series too me was the biggest surprise this year as a successor to 2K6. I really thought 2K baseball was done for but they've managed to turn things around nicely. College Hoops is just a fantastic translation of the real-life game. Tons of stuff to do every time you boot up. Madden was much improved this year and actually playable on the 360.

Runner-Ups...
NCAA 2007 (360) - I prefer playing Madden over NCAA this year
MLB Power Pros (PS2)- Sad to say but if this were a 360 title, and playable online I'd probably have it in my top three
NBA 2K7 (360) - awesome but CH2K7 is more fun too play, with more to do
Skate (360) - the next generation of skating games, tons of fun. Just needs a bit of tweaking in the trick execution department

Hall of Shame: NCAA Football 2008 (360), Madden 2008 (360), Tiger Woods 2008 (PS3), PES 2008 (PS3 - although I'd still take over FIFA, a shamefully sloppy release).

A couple of us listed Tiger so far. I listed it despite the fact that it could be *so* much better. The fact that TW08 on the 360 offers the best combination of challenge, controls, licenses, graphics, and courses of any console golf game ever made is going to go largely unnoticed until it gets a better career mode, a PGA season mode, and more compelling reasons to play online. Plus, it doesn't help that there are head-scratching design decisions throughout the game and the cool game face was a momentum killer at the game's launch.
