There's a difference between a tip and a f*cking road map.

The point is that there also are those who DON'T want the cheat/spoiler, and that's exactly why Scoop was cool enough to request a PM. Unfortunately, reading comprehension wasn't your strong suit tonight.

Take care,

Scoop, I sent you a PM about how I did it.

To others interested: check GameFaqs, search on YouTube, or send me a PM. I don't think anyone should post the Ferris Wheel workaround here because it doesn't really enhance the grand CoD4 experience.

Thanks to Brando I got past the Ferris wheel on Veteran, and am now on the penultimate level - "No fighting in the war Room" and am ready to pull my hair out...again. I played one particular segment of the level for literally an hour and a half.

F^*(&ing game! Thing is, now I've come this far I HAVE to finish it on Vet.

I think I know where you are stuck. There are 2 parts where you are basically screwed in 3 directions. You basically have to memorize where enemies will pop up, and then just move an pixel at a time and shoot them before you even see them. Took me awhile and when I got thru those 2 sections, the rest is a breeze.

LOL - you're spot on! I finally managed to get past it and like you said, the rest is a breeze. Finally finished this b!tch on Veteran...though haven't touched the epilogue yet. :)

Just finished this masterpiece tonight. Top 5 material for sure as far as I'm concerned.

The last scene made me want to cry because I knew the game was over. :cry:

I finished last night and it is definitely in my top 3 games ever. Loved the whole game. I will be giving it a go again in the near future.

Word is that there is an upcoming patch for CoD4, and some playlist changes that may come a bit later;
http://kotaku.com/gaming/call-of-duty-4 ... 334513.php

Patch changes
Addition of Host Migration
* If Host of lobby leaves, all players will be deposited back to the lobby where next best host will be selected before new game restarts. Players will no longer be kicked out of game entirely.

Improved Network Performance For Larger Games
* 18 player games now require more bandwidth to host, resulting in smoother performance for players.

Optimized Server Selection for First Match
* Server selection is now optimized to select best bandwidth servers associated by LSP.

Updated Spectator "Chase Cam"
* Change Spectator Mode: Switch between First Person and Third Person.
* 360 Degree rotation around character you're spectating.

Fixed "Playlist Older Than Host" Error
* Player will no longer get error when entering games.

Optimized Corrupt Create-a-Class Handling
* Players will no longer be kicked from game when their create-a-class data is corrupted.

Added Kill Cam To Everything
* Kill Cam view Added: Air Strike Bombs (Follows bomb from plane to target)
* Kill Cam view Added: Grenades (Follows frag from hand to ground, then rotates to view target)
* Kill Cam view Added: RPGs (Follows RPG from launch to target)
* Kill Cam view Added: M203 Rounds (Follows round from launcher to target)
* Kill Cam view Added: Claymores (Views from behind claymore until explosion)
* Kill Cam view Added: C4 Packs (View from pack rotating to watch target)
* Kill Cam view Added: Martrdom (View from grenade rotating to watch target)

Optimized Old School Experience
* Added Unlimited Sprint
* Doubled Magazine Size
* Added Ragdoll Cam

Additional Start Spawn Locations in All Maps
* Added a minimum of 9 extra start spawns on each side of all maps.

Optimized Sniper Rifle / ACOG Scope Accuracy
* Sniper Rifles and ACOG scope accuracy improved due to fix.

Fixed Weapon Sprint Bug
* Bug which gave players more sprint when using particular weapons.
Playlist changes are mostly just maps added to certain rotations, but there are two new playlists I will be very happy to see.
Mercenary Team Deathmatch
* Brand New Playlists: No Clans / Parties allowed.
* Players who don't want to be matchmade with clans (or people in parties) can team up with fellow lone wolves and play some TDM.
I was wondering what happened to this option as I believe it was in the demo. Can be a good option when you keep getting stuck in games where it's one big clan tearing up randoms.
Hardcore Team Deathmatch
* Brand New Playlist: 100% Hardcore Team Deathmatch Only
* No longer switched between Hardcore Search and Destroy and Hardcore Team Deathmatch
* Map Added to Rotation: Showdown - now available in map rotation.

For those that don't know there's an epilogue mode on an airplane in mission selects. It's a really neat level.

If you like getting your ass kicked LOL. You get points for beating it, but only on Veteran.

Well I played it on the 2nd difficulty level. Is that veteran? It took me about 5 times to beat it.

Veteran is the hardest difficulty setting the in the game, and in my experience is drastically harder than the other settings. I forget if the second difficulty setting is normal or hardened.

If someone manages to beat the plane level on Veteran then I will bow down to you sir as the greatest COD4 player ever to walk the planet. Literally it is impossible. The time limit, the increased damage from the terrorists, their increased accuracy... I must have tried it like fifty times.

Wow... I just watched a video of a guy on youtube running through the plane on the veteran setting and completing it. Crazy stuff.

Here is the link. It just shows him go through on veteran but in case you want to figure it out for yourself DO NOT WATCH IT!

WillHunting/The Praxis has beaten it on Veteran. I agree with you though, it's bloody incredible to do so. I finished the game on Veteran which took quite a while but I don't even know where to start with that epilogue mission on Veteran.

Veteran is significantly (x10) harder than Normal and also noticably more difficult than Hardened.

Edit: My 'x10 harder' comment is based on empirical evidence....that I made up.

Hardened is the hardest level. It goes Normal Veteran Hardened.

I'm fairly certain Veteran is the hardest (the last one).

Or is it;

Normal Hardened Veteran Jumpoutofwindowtoyourdeath
