Let me echo those sentiments

There is this young guy who works in the same building as me who weekly draws a picture of a gator on his white board along with a note about how the Gators are going to kick some butt the upcoming weekend. To his credit - or insanity - the bragging did not stop when his team lost to Auburn or even to Georgia (which is the clear home team where I work in metro Atlanta).

This past week his white board informed people to get in their digs in while they can because he had only one week left. Since the Gators have more than one game remaining, I assumed he was either a contract worker and was moving on or had got another job.

As it turns out, he does have another job. He is in the National Guard and was called up and will be spending the next 18 months in Iraq as a medic. While the rest of us will be arguing about the BCS and complaining about the disruption of a 3 day business trip, he will be serving his country in a war zone.

To him and Jack and my wife's uncle Clinton -who has been to both Saigon and Bagdad for his country- and all of the others who have served or are serving - thanks for your service.

A big thank you from me as well.

Here's a strange/funny thought as I walked in to work today. I walk in and I see three different people who I know are veterans. Just a little bit after, my friend who works at a bank calls me as he is on his way fishing because he has the day off. He has never served in any of the armed forces. Does someone see something wrong with that picture?

Thanks to all the veterans and the current soldiers, sailors and air men (and those who support them at home) for their service to our country.
