Roll Call: FIFA Online Team Play Friday Night (11/9)

Post by Zeppo »

OK gang:

Who's going to be around for some OTP tonight in FIFA? I am looking forward to trying this mode out, whether it's two on two, the full five on five, or any mix in between.

I'd like to get started around 10p est if others are ready then. Who's in? Post when you think you will be able to get online as well. The biggest problem is undoubtedly going to be figuring out what teams to use, since the random button only randomizes within a league.

Can I level in CoD4 while I'm playing???

Sigh, I guess I'll give it a shot anyway. I'll be around.

If I'm on I'm in. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night though so it's 50-50 right now.

If we can get at least two on two, that's plenty for me. Lots of room for more to join in from game to game as well once we get started. Someday it would be neat to try a full five on five room, but I'm no entirely convinced there are actually ten gamers here who have this one for 360. Is it worth it to try a public room if we get four of us or five of us together on one team?

That was tremendously fun, guys. Thanks for playing! I stick to my 2 free agents at all times philosophy, but I will try some other formulas, I promise! I only player locked one game, and I want to try it more to get more used to it. In the end, I still sort of think two on two is the best, but on the other hand there's nothing like combining with two or more teammates for a nice attacking play. I do think it's possible to get more accustomed to that FIFA extra touch, and really, most of the 'FIFA specials,' but even if not, having true online MP is more than enough to suffer the problems of the game. So much fun! It would be great if we could figure out a night to make a regular FIFA MP night.

Yeah it was fun - think I'll stick with player lock though.

Sorry about the com problems - I'll have to see if that's cropping up in 1 v 1 on-line games as I've never had that problem before. Then again, Microsoft hardware so you can pretty much bank that it's cheaply made and bound to fall stop working...

Best wishes,

Doug

How did you all manage to stay onside? It sounds like a nightmare trying to keep five guys on when play shifts to the other end of the pitch. Is there like a "super zoomed-out camera" or something?

In the pro camera angle a flag will appear by your player letting you know he's offside.

I played a few hours of this mode on Thursday and it really is a blast.

Honestly, that was a blast last night!

That mode is the sole reason I am not trading this game in :)

Wait a minute, this game has online team play. Is it like NHL 08? If so, then I'm going to pick up a copy tomorrow(11/12monday). I didn't know this, doesn't matter, because I know little about futbol. But with OTP, I'm willing to learn.

Gamefly just shipped me a copy... I look forward to playing with you guys some time this week.

I never thought EA would be the one to make a push with this. Remarkable.
