Anyone having this issue?
I was playing two people on one 360 online and the game reverted to NON-HD with the black areas on the side of the screen. I can play single player Halo 3 online in HD but once I add that guess it goes into this other format. Any ideas people?

Having the same issue whenever I play co-op on one 360.Zlax45 wrote:Anyone having this issue?

Also, the game is not recognizing my hard drive, so I can't play co-op with someone else online or use the replay feature.
Any help greatly appreciated.

How far did you get in Legendary? I pulled an all nighter finish the entire campaign in Legendary with 2 other friends but the last few levels are just very plain and boring (and frustrating because of the ridiculous number of non-mobile snipers).btmmayor wrote:I thought that the first two Halo games were very average first person shooters at best. Still, the hype sucked me in and I picked up 3. I played the first 3 levels of the game with a buddy over Live on Legendary difficulty and all I can say is WOW. Both of us had an absolute blast. The increase in difficulty is a must as we really had to work together to progress.
I do not like the multiplayer at all as team elimination games like Eradication in PDZ and Warzone in GOW have ruined me of the run and gun type gameplay. I had some fun with the single player (I've only played the first two levels there) but it was nothing compared to legendary co-op. We finally shut it down at 2 am last night, which is a ridiculous time of night for me.

Wow....one night? We just finished Chapter 7 last night and that took us about 2 hours to get through.WillHunting wrote:How far did you get in Legendary? We are still having a blast. The highlight of the night was picking up my buddy in an airship and weaving through the gunfire to drop him on top of one of those giant walkers so he could run inside and destroy it. Unless the end of the game takes a major turn the whole experience has been anything but plain and boring. I hear alot of complaints about the snipers but if you take your time, split up and approach them the right way they are no problem. I enjoy that alot more than just blindly running forward shooting whatever moves.
I'm not a Halo fan at all, but I put the co-op campaign experience right up there with the best games I've played.
Level 7 is definitely the longest level in the game.btmmayor wrote:Wow....one night? Also, IMO, the game peaked on that stage. Level 8 is a major drag, and level 9 is good, but nothing special.

Yah, 8 and 9 is just so bleh when the rest of the game was quite good (really enjoyed 1-4).Naples39 wrote:Level 7 is definitely the longest level in the game.btmmayor wrote:Wow....one night? I can't believe we stayed up till 7:30am to finish everything (and grabbed all the skulls along the way). I will probably help out a buddy on Legendary again, but no way am I doing it all at 1 go. Not 18 anymore!!

Sorta, you can actually do stuff like create explosive barrels the spawn mid air every 2 secs (or whatever u want) and coming raining down on the maps like bombs. Some guys have created mongoose racetracks by placing crates around the map to form the track. Add that and falling bombs and you really got something!! One dude claims to have a made a version of Football, but I have tried it yet. They're all on bungie.net.macsomjrr wrote:Aren't they just the same maps but with different spawn points/vehicles etc...? Doesn't sound very cool to me but I'll check that one out.greggsand wrote:Anyone download any custom maps from Bungie? Played around with a few. Check out one call Nuclearpowerplant (or something similar). It's crazy.

Finished the campaign on heroic last night, solo... I gotta say I really enjoyed it! Except for parts of mission 8, perhaps. Some have ragged on the cutscenes, but I thought they looked great (especially some of that large scale matte painting stuff towards the end) and that wonderful Halo music sort of elevates everything, even when the dialogue is vague cheese. I look forward to doing some legendary on co-op.

I hated the last 2 levels of Flood, just brutal on Legendary (especially level Cortana). But overall, the game is great and alot of fun (co-op).Slumberland wrote:Finished the campaign on heroic last night, solo... I gotta say I really enjoyed it! Except for parts of mission 8, perhaps. Agree about level 8, but level 9 isn't nearly as bad because you have a lot more room to move around, you have the arbiter with you, and the flood you kill don't get back up again.WillHunting wrote:I hated the last 2 levels of Flood, just brutal on Legendary (especially level Cortana). True true. My complains on 9 is that it is so BORING. The last level shouldn't be so plain and unimaginative....Naples39 wrote: Agree about level 8, but level 9 isn't nearly as bad because you have a lot more room to move around, you have the arbiter with you, and the flood you kill don't get back up again.

I hated the last two levels. Even the driving wasn't very exciting. I just wanted the game to end at that point. Although i had some fun on the rest of the levels the game has been somewhat of a disappointment for me. I'm not all that into the multilayer and the single player was good but not great. I'll keep it for a little longer to get more MP in and then sell it. Too many other great comes on the horizon.Slumberland wrote:I loved the driving section of 9. But on the whole, yeah, fighting covenant is ten times more interesting than fighting flood.

Man, Halo 2 was pretty miserable for me online, but I sure do love 3. Even with randoms, I'm having a good time. Maybe the matchmaking is better, maybe it's the ease of the mute function now, who knows. One thing I can put my finger on, it just feels real good, in a visceral way, to take someone down. Even the default machine gun is effective, especially when you weave and charge while shooting and then finish it off with a melee (I'm afraid I will be something of a knife whore when COD4 gets to my doorstep). One of my favorite things is to run away from a pursuer, then hide behind a wall and stop moving to disable the radar, then sort of reverse ambush them as they come around. I had a nice game of team slayer where I had 15 kills and only 1 death, with 14 of those kills coming uninterrupted. I felt so Willem Dafoe in Platoon. Then being able to replay the match in theater... so fun.
I'm still eager to play some of the campaign on Legendary co-op. Is anyone down?
