I'm going back and forth on GH III and Rock Band. If I'm simply going to play single player, then GH III would be the logical choice, correct? I love the concept of Rock Band, but I highly doubt I'll game enough online to warrant purchasing all the add-on instruments. Seems like a lot of dough to throw down on one game.
After that decision, I'm definitely picking up CH 2K8. I'm strongly considering COD4 and Assassins Creed as well.
I'm using my BB game rental to the fullest extent. I'll be renting many more games than purchasing.

Are you only interested in playing guitar? If not, don't forget you don't need to be online with others to sing or play drums in Rock Band; you can do that single player as well.

I cant wait to pick this up. I think this was suppose to have come out in early spring or early summer, but it kept getting pushed back. I loved Field Commander for the PSP, and once i heard this was coming for the DS i was really excited . I just hope it s good on the DS
I was surfing around on GameSpot and I found that they are releasing another expansion to DoW called "Soulstorm." This game was a blast to play (especially the campaign mode in Dark Crusade) and news of this expansion has got me all giddy like a school girl. Two new factions, addition of flying units AND a whole new, bigger and better SP campaign? Sweeeeeet.
Hellgate London (loved the demo, loved Diablo II and I get to see London burning...what more could you want ?)
Mass Effect
COD 4
Timeshift
With regard to Hellgate, I was thinking that it could be like a franchise thing - you know, Hellgate Paris, Hellgate NY etc. I then expanded the idea to Hellgate Liverpool, but decided that my character would have just walked out into the first area, remarked that it looked tidier than usual, gave the nearest demon a cheery thumbs up and told them to keep up the good work.
"The players come from all over the world, the money from deep underneath the Persian Gulf, but, as another, older City poster campaign put it, this is their city. They may now exist in the global spotlight, but they intend to keep it that way."
My list looks just like Dave's minus Timeshift as the demo just didn't do much for me. But I totally agree with him on Hellgate: London. It's basically Diablo in a 3D environment with a WoW type quest system. I played the beta and demo until my fingers bled.
Assassin's Creed (Day 1 purchase)
Rock Band (Christmas)
Mass Effect (Christmas)
Kane and Lynch (Gamefly)
Uncharted:Drake's Fortune (Christmas)
Haze (Gamefly)
College Hoops (Gamefly)
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Rock Band for Christmas sounds about right. How much fun is THAT going to be on Christmas day:)
I will be interested to see what response is like for Assassin's Creed.
It sounds like a game I would like, but I am not sure. I am a big fan of games like Thief and I wonder if I will like this "world". I also wonder if I will get used to the interface - even with the changes made from the original showing at E3 a while back, it is still supposed to be challenging.
Mass Effect is another game I may or may not get into. Frankly, my gaming time is shrinking, so if a world does not suck me in, I take a pass.
Usually I have great timing with Gamefly, but last week instead of COD4 or the FEAR files, I got both NBA games. Fortunately, NBA Live proved to be a quick rental, so I can move on to something else.
Unlike everyone here, I am not in love with Portal. It is probably my own fault, as I have been playing through Episode 1 and 2 as well as dipping into HL2 (which I had played on the PC). So maybe after a few weeks of HL puzzles, I need to take a break before approaching Portal.
But other reviews are giving much higher scores like in the 9.0's. I personally have never trusted 1up.com for their reviews. The only place I trust is Gamespot as I usually agree with ther reviews.
