Georgia broke its 6 game SEC East losing streak Sat with a last second field goal against Vandy... After the game Georgia players were stomping on the Vandy star on the 50.

Last year Vandy stomped on our G... well Mark Richt would have no part of that. I have never seen him so mad.. He started pushing his players telling them to get into the locker room. He then told the sideline reporter, that is not what Georgia is all about... and apologized to the Vandy team, coaches and fans. After the interview you could see him apologizing to the Vandy coaches and the coaches thanking him.

I know for a fact none of the Vandy coaches tried to stop their players last year.. but I guess Georgia is suppose to better than that(football wise). The sad part is, right now, we aren't.

pk500 wrote:It's ironic, but if this season continues with its unpredictability, it will illustrate more than ever why Division I football needs a playoff.

There's a very good chance that South Florida or BC could sneak into a BCS title game against Ohio State, and that's a sham.

The Big East isn't as good this year as predicted, as it has a few very good teams but no truly great teams. Rutgers and Louisville both were overrated, and I don't think W. Va. is as good as advertised.

The ACC is not a good football conference this season. Other than Virginia Tech and maybe Virginia, what does the ACC have other than BC? Not much.

Meanwhile, excellent teams like Oklahoma, LSU and Kentucky might get left out of the big enchilada because of one bad week. That's a joke.

I'm sorry, but I've seen USF and BC play. If you put LSU against either on a neutral field 10 times, I think LSU wins seven or eight games. Same with Oklahoma.

Yet there's a very good chance neither the Tigers nor the Sooners will be in the BCS title game.

Or consider the horror of this farce: Ohio State loses in the Big 10, and unbeaten BC and USF play for the national title.

Take care,
PK
I will quantify this with an "I agree with you totally on a playoff". But I have no problem with USF in the title game if they run the table. And the same goes with Ohio St or BC (you know Parker would love to post about now)
I think USF is every bit as good as Boise St was last year, and we all saw what happened to the Sooners last year.

What makes Oklahoma better than USF or BC? I agree that the Big East is not what we thought and the ACC is as weak as it was last year, but I would not go touting the Big 12 as a better conference.

I certainly don't feel sorry for Oklahoma for losing at home to Colorado or for LSU for having more talent than anyone in the country 2 years in a row and losing games they should have won.

That said, I do agree with PK that we need a championship. It makes a lot more sense to play it out on the field rather than have voters (who often know less than people on this board) make the decision.

Went to the Mizzou - Texas Tech game yesterday and had a blast. I like college football so much more than pro nowdays.

Big win for Kansas at Colorado as well. SHould be an exciting next few weeks in the Big 12.

It's the big black mark of college football. The polls are doing everything they can to ruin this sport. The coaches poll is filled in by Ad's who watch maybe 5% of the games and the AP poll is filled in by people with an agenda who also don't watch enough of the games. It's a lose/lose. Opinion should never matter to the degree it does in college football.

I'm in agreement and it takes away from what has become a stellar sport. They will probably never have a playoff format, but damn does college football need it.

Could you imagine if college basketball was the same way?

Calls for playoffs have been coming up every year for how long?

Schools are probably making enough money with the current system so there seems to be little push from within the system -- not just the people who own the bowls but also the big programs.

They could make more with a playoff system or they could make less.

But making money is job number one.

This year, there seems to be no one super team or a couple of teams a cut above the rest.

Some school will probably be screwed. Or at least the fans of that school will make the claim.

KU's basketball team is 7-0.....Ooops, did I say basketball!?!?!? The damn football team is 7-0 (3-0 in the Big 12). Wow, never would I have ever imagined they'd be a top 15 team. Three tough games remain on their schedule....at Texas A&M, at Okie State, and a potentially huge matchup at Arrow Head in KC against the Tigers of Mizzou.

Props to Mizzou for a nice a## kicking on Texas Tech!

Congrats BDunn. Our D has been teetering on horrible all season, and they played pathetically today. Combined that with Georgia's running game (wow, Moreno is really good) and we deserved the loss.

I posted some videos on youtube back in the spring of Knowshon. The kid is a special kind of player. He just lacks a little breakaway speed. I think he has SEC freshman of the year locked up and I believe he has only started 2 games.

I am hoping the win over you guys is bigger than one game. When we won in 2004, Pollack, Greene, Davis were all seniors and they had 0 wins against FLorida and you guys had a lame duck coach... The win was just that. I feel this win might have gotten us over the mental edge of playing Florida. In the past I have felt you could line up any team in UF uniforms and they would beat Georgia.

I read something Friday before the game from a Georgia fan site, it said something like, Georgia's best chance Saturday is both teams are very young. Georgia might not know they are suppose to lose to Florida and the Florida guys might not know they are suppose to beat Georgia.

Florida is missing Chris Leak alot too. He did not get any respect from alot of Florida fans, but he was a damn fine college QB.

Leak was a really good QB, I agree. He'd occasionally make some dumb decisions, but I liked him. I think it would have been a bit different of a game if Tebow was healthy (not that we would have won, but a lot of those sacks were because Tebow couldn't leave the pocket).

There was no defense whatsoever. It really surprised me that KU's defense was so unsteady this game. Nebraska has a decent offense, but no way should KU be allowing 38 to them. Fortunately, they picked a good week to score 76. In any case, a tough match-up with Okie State next weekend.

Good luck to Mizzou this evening!

Coach Charlie is such a #ick...not even knowing about a 43 year...43 game win streak, and saying it means nothing to him and his players...what a joke.

Why don't you just *iss on your tradition a little more while you are at it...and way to try and take the pride and jubilation of Navy and flush it down the toilet.

After being able to tour the Naval Academy with my 8th graders last May I have nothing but immense respect for them...even their pleebs.

Way to go Navy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coach Charlie...you are a prick. 1-8....LOL...way to go Irish...I hope they can his ass....

I guess BC isn't going to be playing in the championship game this year.

Honestly - and I am a big FSU and ACC fan - I don;t think BC could beat a 3 loss UF team, much less LSU or Oregon.

Oregon = National Champs
Dixon = Heisman
Pac 10 = toughest conference in college football
