Xbox Live Arcade and Marketplace Thread # 2
Rather than continually bumping the old thread and bogging down the forums I'm starting a new thread for Arcade and Marketplace discussion.
I'll kick it off by mentioning that demos for PGR4 and F.E.A.R 2 are up. I know it's old news but you never know if it's new to somebody.
Also, Puzzle Quest was released for Arcade today. 1200 points. I know there were a few who really enjoyed this for the DS.

I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

The cool thing about this game that I didn't expect is it's hilarious. Homer's quotes ("Hi Lenny, I'm on TV! I just said your name on TV! Don't tell Carl I said your name unless Carl is watching in which case don't tell Lenny...") and some of the things that Kent Brockman says while flying around in his helicopter ("this scenario begs one question, what lays inside that ass hatch???") are great. It also looks really impressive too. I didn't realize how "Simpson's" this game was going to be. If you haven't checked this out yet and you are a fan of the show (who isn't?) you're missing out.Sudz wrote:the SIMPSON'S demo is pretty good. game looks AMAZING in HD.
I played this on both the PSP and DS and it was really fun. There was a thread on DSP awhile back discussing this game after it came out. Pretty much everyone liked it. The multiplayer over XBL made me think about getting it but I don't want to have to play though a bunch of the story again just to be competitive.greggsand wrote:I tried the Puzzle Quest xbla demo & thought "RPG & a Puzzle Game - what a dumb idea..." Anyway, 1 hour later I bought the damn thing. Strangely addictive...

Wow, if you guys get the chance try out the Arcade game "Exit". I played it a bit and ended up buying it. Very cool gameplay, and a really neat look and style. Some of the levels are nuts (in particular one where you are in the dark with a flashlight). This is the kind of game that the Arcade was made for.
I also tried the Battlestar Galactica game, but wasn't very impressed with it.

Exit is a decent game, I had fun with it on PSP. Not going to buy it again tho.Gurantsu wrote:Wow, if you guys get the chance try out the Arcade game "Exit". I played it a bit and ended up buying it. Anyone else tried this yet? I thought the graphics were very crisp and sharp....impressive. But the driving/handling model was a little jittery for me. I had a hard time staying on that narrow track in the demo. It also didnt help matters that the roads are lined with poles that total your car on impact.sportdan30 wrote:Need For Speed Pro Street demo is up.
Yeah, fun stuff, but I love pinball games. Haven't played this one in a while, so it's nice to see some new content. Even got a few acheivement points today.tealboy03 wrote:For those with Pinball FX, there's a new 'Buccaneer' table available...
and it's free. And it's a pretty darn cool table...

I felt the same way. Looks great but so easy to wipe out, and then have to wait for loading and that stupid car panning shots right before count down that you CANNOT SKIP. I will most likely buy Mutant Storm Empire when I get home, that game looks hot.

I really enjoyed NFS-Most Wanted & NFS-Carbon, but this version doesn't appeal to me so far. They are featuring this enhanced "autosculpt" thing where you can modify your cat thousands of ways. I don't really care about that stuff. I just want to race!WillHunting wrote:I felt the same way. There's also a patch that fixes some bugs and exploits and lets you move the dot matrix display around the screen. I think it does some other stuff too, but I don't have the full list.Murph wrote:Yeah, fun stuff, but I love pinball games. Haven't played this one in a while, so it's nice to see some new content. There will be 2 more tables coming in Nov/Dec for 200 points each (a haunted house theme and a save-the-wild-animals theme), and I think each one has 20 achievement points (compared to 10 for the free table).
