Hey, the Halo 3 car that David Stremme drove last weekend at Dover looks cool!

I might be the only one on DSP who has played H1 and H2 and I still have no idea what the story is about. All I know is I get to blow sh*t up. As far as H3 goes I have little interest in the game since I only play SP. I'll probably buy after a price drop whenever that happens.

Nope. I haven't played H1 or H2. Though I figure I'll get H3 to satisfy my online shooter quota (1).

You guys still have a 4th slot? I am taking the day off tomorrow as well but I will not be able to play consistently right at 7:00am Central. I can jump in for a bit but then have to jump out for a bit between 8 & 9. Can you jump in and out of the co-op like in GoW?

If so, then I would definitely like to play with you guys!

No unfortunately, there's no pop in and pop out. Sucks, but that's the deal.

Jack,

The guys from Penny Arcade linked to this today. Seems like just what you're looking for:

I watched all those videos that contain all the cutscenes from Halo 1 & 2, and now I'm looking forward to seeing how the story is resolved. Halo's style of play is a bit ridiculous, but over the top action can be fun online, and it seems that every aspect of this game will be very well thought out and well executed.

I'm looking forward to purchasing my first Halo title tomorrow. :D

Not too much to post right now, I am tired. But Spooky and I played a new mode together that was just damn fun. It was called Multi Team and was in matchmaking. It was teams of 2 (Spooky and I) and we played vs 3 other teams of 2. We played a few slayers and a king of the hill. Man was this ever fun stuff.

Not much else to report, its HALO. Not much else to say really.

Wow! That new 2 vs. other teams of 2 mode is AWESOME! What a cleaver addition. What a cool way to be able to just jump online with one buddy and be a full team.

Damn Seminole...we were SO close to winning most of those rounds too!

I picked it up at Blockbuster as a one week rental. I must say it loks overhyped because the game is ok not great. The graphics looked like a tweaked version of the Xbox game with jaggies.

Based on the reviews I should have this finished in about 10 hours.

I think this is going to be the trend. Aside from Bio Shock, Halo 2 was popular because of its online mode. I think they said why waste development dollars on the single player mode when MP-land is where most of the gamers will find themselves.

Can't say I agree but I think that's their focus here.

Love the new armor types. My online spartan looks like vaguely reminiscent of the old B.A.T. robots from the G.I. Joe cartoons.

I got tea-bagged twice last night. In basic training.

It took me about 45 minutes to an hour to beat the first level and there are 7 chapters so it looks like it's a 7 hour game. I'm glad I rented the thing. I plan on doing the same with Heavenly Sword whenever it's available.

I'm pretty much doing that with all games that offer less than 1 week of play time. Only games that i'll play for more than a month do I plan on buying.

Whatever happened with taking your time and enjoying the single player, rather than rushing through a 10 hour game. Heck, as a father of two and many other responsibilities, I barely have time to game more than an hour each night. Shouldn't this game be enjoyed rather than being the first one to raise your hand and say your finished? I disagree the single player aspect of these games are dead.

Fshguy, Teal, Zeppo, and I just finished it on Heroic in about 7 hours. We didn't explore a lot and having four of us definitely made it easier than trying to finish it alone so I'd say it's probably a 10 hour solo game. We have to go back and re-do chapter 6 to have it considered totally complete because we exited out and re-started that chapter and didn't get the achievement.

I didn't want to rush through it just to say I beat it but because I really, really wanted to know how the story ended. I'll go back through the single player again at a slower pace to catch all of the extra details I might have missed on this play through. Overall I'm happy with it. It closed out the story and felt like Halo with enough new weapons, environments, etc to not feel like a re-hash. Although there are a few levels you will find familiar but not in a bad way.

I'm not really concerned about campaign length. I'm a very deliberate player when it comes to these things as I want to see everything, and basically never play the same game in the same mode for more than 2 hours at a time.

I'm not sure how long bioshock is considered to be, but I've had that for weeks and the ending is still not imminent for me. With bouncing back and forth between online and campaign, with a little co-op campaign level repeats thrown in for the fun levels, and I'm sure I'll get plenty of enjoyment from the single player.

True. But I guess not everyone has kids Dan. My toddler surely keeps me busy, you're gone on travels and she keeps me glued when I am home. Maybe those guys want to finish their games quickly to get good values for their trade-ins. :)
