NHL 08

FYI, at the eb I got this at... there were about 6 people standing around waiting for the game to arrive.
There were copies of NHL2K8 for every system, prominently displayed. EB employee said she had not sold a single one, for any system... So EA is doing well making people skip 2K8 for their EA game this year. Hope it's justified!
Create a player is pretty indepth. I don't care much, but my kid is having fun with it.

Shouldn't they be washing the dishes instead?James_E wrote:My kids has control over it right now. He's doing create-a-player stuff while I do some dishes/cleaning. Probably have to play with him on easy level for a while. I'll crank up difficulty when he's done and let you guys know.
Looking forward to your post.

Not yet but I did receive the automated call from Gamestop that my copy would be in this afternoon. You're in the Eastern time zone right? You should start seeing this puppy in the stores by now.JackB1 wrote:Any NHL08 sightings yet today (Wed 9/12)?
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

I would have walked out, but that's just me. I only buy games that are sealed and in the wrapper. Dan my advice is to rent the game first and then decide. I don't think the framerate will be a huge issue but it's better to spend a few bucks on a rental first then decide.sportdan30 wrote:Just got home with the PS3 version. Not sure if I want to break the seal on the game. The sales rep at EB Games takes the game out of a sleeve and then puts it in the plastic container, and seals it. Now, it's a new game.....huh?
And that would allow you to take back the so-called sealed copy back to EB.
My EB never does that to me. Maybe because I have friends who work at the store. If anyone ever pulled that on me i'd buy buy games at Walmart, Target, CC or BB.MizzouRah wrote:I only see them do that when I'm buying a new game.. that's odd. As long as you have the receipt, play it and if you don't like it "seal" it back up and take it back.

I'm glad your enjoying the game Dan. I'll tell you NHL 08 does more right than it does wrong this year. The fun factor is still there and it easily replaced NHL 07.
My only nitpick I can find and this is only with one game on Pro is that the CPU sometimes holds the puck to long behind their own net when on the power play. I was down 5-3 on 2 penalties and watch the CPU bring the puck behind their own net and used up like 3-5 seconds while waiting to setup. I'm sure that most NHL teams would ratchet up the pressure being to men up on the ice. I must suck bigtime cause i'm down 3-0 to the Rangers late in the 3rd. I'm having a blast and kudos to EA for one great game.
