My boss and I are off to the local British Pub to watch France and Agrentine. I think France rolls on them, tough group though.

I'm watching as I type this in my living room (god bless Setanta).
Argentina's try off of the interception was brilliant. France looks confused, and have not settled yet.
I thought France would dominate, it appears not. The Pumas look strong.
17 - 6 Pumas as of now.
Lots of pressure on the French side, playing in their country and all considered.

England v USA in about 2 hours from now live!
Can't wait, also looking forward to Samoa v Springboks @ 6:45 am pst, Canada v Wales right before it @ 4:30 am pst tomorrow morn.
Looks like I need to Tivo those two matches bleh.
BTW, all those high kicks the Pumas were dropping on France is what killed them a bit, they just could not handle them.

A shocker for France indeed. But if you thought Argentina would be a walk in the park, then think again. Pumas have always been among the top eight nations in the World or even higher. It's an upset of some sort but personally I am not surprised. Marcelo Pascual's block was huge and beautiful to watch, and France just never looked in control after that play and rather confused.
Now, I still think France is one of the candidates to go far in this tournament, All Blacks, and curious to see how England performs.

Great performance by the USA, England looked poor, they should have done to the US what NZ did to Italy. If the All Blacks were in the white shirts today they would have dropped 60 on the US.
Albeit a loss, the USA earned respect today no doubt. Hercus should have drawn that shite player that legged him a red card no doubt. Two sin bins is a f***in joke, I saw 4 at the least.
That spear was retaliation for Hercus not getting his due. US should have been up on the red card early, but that f***in' South African ref looking out for his squad screwed us!
Bullshite reffing, it should have been closer than what it showed. Good for the US squad to get that late try, they earned it.
The crowd was definitely pro US and booed England side a ton.

Yeah, the US played rather well vs an opponent that was supposed to walk all over them. England didn't play aggressive enough or just wasn't allowed by the US to play their game. The game was much closer than the score indicates, England better pick up the slack as the tournament advances.
How about those lopsided scores with the All blacks all over Italy and the Aussies (not underestimate them folks) scoring 91-3.

Finally caught up on watching the England-USA game and the Channel 10 (Australia) first weekend review show that I got over the weekend from the torrents.
Man, the USA showed a ton of balls against England. A really fine effort. Hercus is a very good player. Very clever and smart. Hell, the U.S. played England to a 7-7 draw in the second half.
England looked slow, especially on the outside. No way it successfully defends its title this year. Habana will run wild for the Springboks against England this Friday.
But I must admit Olly Barkley looked great against the U.S. as Wilkinson's replacement for England. The kid is quality.
New Zealand looked f*cking awesome against the Italians. You knew Italy was in trouble right from the start when they stayed in the huddle during the haka. A big-time no-no that only pissed off the All Blacks even more.
Seeing the All Blacks in full flight is one of the most awesome sights in team sports. I sh*t you not. Beautiful, brutal sports choreography at its finest.
Australia looked good, but the game wasn't a good measuring stick because Japan sucks.
Finally, that try by the Argentine dude with the yellow shoes, who went about half of the field after his teammate intercepted a French offload, was spectacular. Man, the Argentina up-and-under kicks were effective. The Argies just forced France to try and make plays, and the Frogs couldn't do it.
I'm going to watch Ireland-Namibia tonight. Can't wait for more matches. Thank God for aussietorrents.com and diwana.org!
Take care,
PK

I do, but I was recording two other programs Sunday when the Versus game was on. Plus I enjoy the knowledgeable Australian or English commentary that I get from torrents.fsquid wrote:Do you not get Versus pk?
Who is doing the commentary for the Versus games?
Thanks,

Finally watched Ireland-Namibia. Spirited effort by Namibia. Ireland showed individual flashes but crap teamwork and concentration. SO many dropped balls on the wings.
England-South Africa tomorrow is a group biggie. I say the Springboks roll.
Take care,

Olly Barkley out for England against RSA. So England is down to its third-choice No. 10, since Wilkinson already is out.

Damn you for your delayed commentary, you need to watch these matches real time, or at least a day late (as I do often because I am Tivoing all of them).pk500 wrote:Finally caught up on watching the England-USA game and the Channel 10 (Australia) first weekend review show that I got over the weekend from the torrents.

I saw your comments on the All Blacks, now you see why I love them so. I really wish I had turned you into a rugging fan back when Lomu was playing on their Squad, to see it live back then was just awesome.
USA looked so so vs Tonga, they picked it up in the second half, and started to have some continuity but the first half they looked poor and sloppy. I really dont even care to go in depth as to how many mistakes they were making. Upsetting showing for the US side, especially after their fine effort vs the England squad.
fsquid summed it up well enough.

I have not used pay-pal in so long it is not funny, but I'm tempted to have a nice wager on this match, as good as the Boks looked I think England will show up for this. They saw the opening match for the Springboks, plus they know their squad is not the US, they half arsed it against the US, they will come against the Boks.
