So, Dave, shedding many tears that Solskjaer has retired? Even you have to admit, in this world of rampant ego, the guy was pretty selfless to accept his sub role for so long despite being pretty damn productive when he was on the pitch.
Take care,

TBH, I always quite liked him, and I know a number of MU fans (well, I don't actually work in Manchester any more) who had a lot more regard for him than some of the other people who have played for them.
Having said that, he realistically should have retired about 3 years ago. I just wonder whether the Purple Drunkard thought that he was going to be fit again when he decided to let 2 strikers (OK, 1 plus Alan Smith) leave over the summer.
As for Puerta, when I saw the pictures of him on the floor, it just reminded me of Marc-Vivien Foe dying in the Confederations Cup in 2003, although I must admit that as soon as I saw Foe on the deck, I just knew he was gone.

I guess the difference for me is that Foe didn't walk off the field. He was gone right away, from what I recall, right? It's just so shocking to see the YouTube footage of Puerta going to the turf and then walking off. He looks shaken, but OK.
And now he's gone. Very sad.
Take care,
PK

And once again you left it bloody late to see us off, scoring in the 120th minute as you did. No complaints, though, based on what I managed to hear, and there's the consolation that since we're a division apart you really should win. Tell that to Sunderland, though, or to Wolves.
Still, never mind - let's just hope everything is OK with Clive Clarke. The last thing football fans want to be concerned with tonight is another player collapsing.

City avoid potential nana skin at Bristol C, albeit in true City style by letting them score an equaliser in injury time which the linesman chalked off.
Nice to see Sunderland get a good beating last night at a team 2 divisions below them, and more mystifying transfers by World Champion Scumbag Roy Keane, signing Ian Harte who was too washed up even for Levante, and paying £6m plus player for some Southampton youth who's played about 20 minutes of Championship football.
Latest theory is that he's trying to break the record for the most money spent by a relegated club...he's looking well out of his depth.

Nope - and the great idiot windfall is set to continue, with Aston V rumoured to be about to pay £9m for Curtis Davis.fsquid wrote:Ian Harte? HE's still alive? Kenwyne Jones kept Wednesday up two seasons ago. But. 6 mil? You are having a laugh.
As for the linesman, his flag went up the moment that the striker went for the ball, if he'd have just not bothered then he wouldn't have been deemed to be 'active'.
Don't worry, no one else understands it either.

Man City have got to be the most hate-filled fans in the world. Let's face it you hate Man City. You can't root for any other team but deep down you all hate your own team.
Even Browns and Cubs fan don't hate their teams as much as you and they are the same periennial losers.
I don't get City fans.

DaveT is so correct about Platini being a f*cking horse's ass. Puerta's body is barely cold, and Platini is using the poor guy's death to criticize the packed fixture list:

I'm not sure which of my fact-filled missives have provoked this somewhat illusory idea, but you don't continue to pull in 98% of capacity in the old Division 2 if you hate the club.JRod wrote:Man City have got to be the most hate-filled fans in the world. And I doubt that either of those 2 organisations could point to a six year period when they won the League, FA Cup, Charity Shield, League Cup (twice) and European Cup Winners Cup, fielding no player costing more than £100,000.

I understand the rule the flag should have gone up as soon as the ball was played towards him , it should have been treated like the old rule , how where any of those 3 forwards not inolved yet the ball is being passed to them all. Forget it.davet010 wrote:Nope - and the great idiot windfall is set to continue, with Aston V rumoured to be about to pay £9m for Curtis Davis.fsquid wrote:Ian Harte? HE's still alive? As for Platini, who is a prick of the highest calibre, his comments about fixture schedules are comical, given that most players play no more games than they did 30 years ago (fewer, in a lot of cases as most countries have reduced the size of their first divisions and eliminated replays in cup competitions).
Oh, and Michel, perhaps you could explain how this sudden concern for the number of games squares with your idea of a prequalification tournament for the Chumps League involving the Cup winners of UEFA nations, so that the Champions of the Faroe Islands can be guaranteed a spot.
In short....you can't, because you are a complete tool.

As far as I understand it,and from seeing the replay again, the only one stood in an offside position when the ball was played was the guy who eventually put it in. If he had run back away from the goal and made no effort to play the ball, then any other player from BC would have been onside.Jimmydeicide wrote:I understand the rule the flag should have gone up as soon as the ball was played towards him , it should have been treated like the old rule , how where any of those 3 forwards not inolved yet the ball is being passed to them all. And they wonder why officials make dodgy decisions about offsides.

I was probably the one of 14 people staying up until 2am to watch the whole game, but last night's SuperLiga final was a THRILLING match. SPOILERS...10spro wrote:Things are not going quite well for Becks in NA. He hurts his knee in the Superliga finals and unless he takes some serious rest, he may have a short career in Hollywood.
The excitement kept up throughout with both goalies turning in excellent performances, but the game culminated in a stunning, stoppage time, bicycle kick equalizer. Then Donovan, the mexican tormentor, has a chance to ice the game as the final PK shooter but his attempt is saved to the horror of his teammates who thought the match was over. Epic stuff.
After the game the emotions came out. Beckham was reportedly near tears during the press conference, and it looks like he'll be out several weeks with a strained right knee. Mild-mannered Frank Yallop starts dropping f-bombs about the Galaxy's ridiculous schedule. Joe Cannon calls the loss the most devastating of his career. And Chris Klein remarks he doesn't think he could even pull off that bicycle in his bed. Definitely a surreal night for US soccer.
