that f***in website sucks.
I beg to differ, for many reasons:

1. Extensive video highlights of every game.
2. A good daily NHL Live radio show streamed online.
3. Good podcasts streamed every week.
4. Streaming home and away radio station audio of every game.
5. The excellent "Frozen Moment" photo every day that can be turned into wallpaper.
6. The best hockey stats, including game summaries, shift charts, etc., that you'll find anywhere.

AND IT'S ALL FREE. No other sports sanctioning body site offers as much free multimedia to the fan than nhl.com. Sure, the NHL needs to do this to build its dwindling fan base, but free is free.

Take care,
PK

-It is WAAAY to cluttered.
-they don't hype anything.

I agree with the clutter, especially on the cover, but I disagree with your other two points.

First, it's the offseason -- what is there to really hype? The site hyped the sh*t out of the draft and the opening day of free agent signing. Plus, I think a huge NHL Summer 2007 banner with many links under it is hyping a time period where there really isn't much to hype.

It's funny how ESPN.com is considered the gold standard of sports Web sites, and I can't find sh*t at that site. It was impossible to even find the TV listings for the ESPN networks until the links were put on the front page a couple of months ago.

To each their own, motherf*ckah! :)

Lick my love pump, Nigel. :)

I never said you considered ESPN good; I was using it as a frame of reference.

I don't check MLB.com because reading Landfill Professional Monthly is more exciting than baseball.

Want to see a really bad, disorganized site? Go to NASCAR.com. A cluster. Try to find any stats or archived news links there. You need a private detective.

Too busy on the front, I still prefer the classic stick, it just seems too busy now, especially with the word Vancouver. But then again with all the other releases lately, it's not as bad.

Agree with Sudz: HORRIBLE. That looks like a bad high school jersey, especially with the plain-jane script for the name.

Reminds me of Belushi's sweatshirt in "Animal House" that read: COLLEGE

True, true! The Whale's road jerseys were green with blue trim.

Does this mean that the infamous "Brass Bonanza" will be played in Vancouver after Canucks' goals this season? :)

Plus there's nothing new about them: It's almost an identical design from last year's third jersey. At least it has old-school lacing under the collar.

THANK GOD: No changes to the Habs' jerseys with the new Reebok Edge cut:

http://nhllogos.blogspot.com/2007/09/ca ... forms.html

You don't use a graffiti artist to repaint the Sistine Chapel, and you don't mess with the Habs' sweaters.

I must gulp before saying this, but I like the Flames' new sweaters, too. The Canadian and Albertan provincial flags on the shoulders are cool:

http://nhllogos.blogspot.com/2007/09/fl ... forms.html

The Flames have the best-looking of the "new" unis so far, I think. F*ckers.

The Habs and BlackHawks jerseys are my favourite in the NHL. Everyone wearing that new red Calgary one in the saddledome, will add that extra home advantage to their team, I can't think of a city where 80-90% of the fans wear their jerseys proudly to the arena.

I bought the Hockey News preview magazine this weekend, and they have the shootout stats for every team last season. I knew the Flyers were horrible in the shootout, but I didn't realize it was quite so bad - they only scored 2 goals in 29 shots.

As a comparison, Atlanta scored 15 goals on 28 shots.

The Oil's Fernando Pisani is out indefinitely with ulcerative colitis:

That blows. Classy guy, solid two-way player, a leader in the room.

ANA Ducks have called for a press conference tomorrow regarding the status of S. Niedermayer. I think the smoothest skater in the NHL is calling it quits.
