I FULLY believe MLB 2k8 will finally be the baseball game we've been wanting on the 360.
Bioshock indeeds looks cool as hell, but for how long? I almost feel that the 360's advantage in quality games is their disadvantage. Look at the following three games as examples: RV, Forza 2, and Dirt. This place was going crazy about these two games for two weeks tops. Now, nothing. I'm sure there those of you still playing, but the lust sure seems to wear off quickly. I'm sure that'll be true for the PS3 games, such as Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, and Lair as well.

I guess I've just become more frugal as I've gotten older. As much as I b*tch about there not being enough quality PS3 games, it sure has saved me from the impulse purhcase. I came to my senses and realized a game such as The Show has longer legs than a FPS that probably will only be played up until the time the hockey and basketball games roll around. However, it'd still be nice to rent Bioshock!

Prologue is like an expanded demo. I believe you will be able to play online and you'll get it as a paid download.

But it probably won't have the final engine of GT5 nor as many cars and tracks.

We'll see what they price it at.

I guess I'm different, text sims are games I can play year after year and get countless hours of enjoyment from. Games like Half Life, Fallout, and Bioshock are games you just have to experience to understand how great they really are - well, if you like those type of games.

You are fickle, but so am I (I've had 3 psp's at one time or another). ;) Besides text sports sims, I'm a seasonal sports gamer, once baseball is over, I'll move on to football exclusively.. and hockey too of course.

I'm one step closer to jumping back to the 360. Today, I sold my PS3 along with The Show to a buddy of mine. He was interested in purchasing the PS3, so it actually worked out well for both him and myself. Got a MUCH better deal than if I had sold it online.

But, now I'm in a quandry. I want to purchase a 360, but from where? I was thinking of going through Wal-Mart as they have a 90 day return policy, no questions asked. I figure I can purchase a new HDMI premium, and hopefully when the cooler GPU chips arrive, I'll return the 360 and buy it new at Best Buy, with the replacement plan of course. Or, I might just purchase from BB today, knowing I have a 2 year replacement plan right from the get go.

In any case, it feels very strange not having a system in the house, and also knowing that my next one will once again be a 360. In the end, I was very happy with the PS3, but not having the game selection right now was frusturating. Also, as much as I wanted to try and reaffirm that the PSN was making strides, it still didn't match up with Live and the releases of new demos and arcade games. I also have a new revived interest in online gaming, as these last four months of single player gaming has been a bit of a bore. I'm ready to jump in for quick online sessions.

I'll still debate with anyone that The Show is best baseball video game ever, and Warhawk is one of best multiplayer games. But, The Show is only one sports game I will miss out on, and while Warhawk is a blast to play, it'd be a heck of a lot more fun with gamers I'm familar with.

If you have a CompUSA near you, I could not recommend purchasing your 360 there more highly and getting their TAP warranty for 2 years at $44.99. If ANYTHING goes wrong with your 360, you simply take it back to them and they will give you a brand new one right off the shelf and all you pay is another $44.99 for another 2 year TAP warranty.I am on my 3rd 360 from my launch unit and I am on my second 360 for me personally ending up with a new Elite last month. Not exactly sure who BB's plan works, but I do like the ease of which CompUSA's TAP program works even though it does get expensive if you have frequent exchanges.

Good Luck in your decision!

Thanks Divot for the suggestion. My only concern with Comp USA is that many of their stores seem to be doing poorly in our area. Also, the fact it's not right around the corner. I believe BB's policy is 2 years @ $59, but I'm not sure if I would have to shell out $50 each time I brought it in. I'm hoping I can just renew the two year replacement plan once it runs out. The BB sales rep it's as easy as coming to the store and picking out a new 360 off the shelf. Takes less than 10 minutes from what I was told.

Puts on the Welcome Back Cotter theme song. :P

Honestly, I'm happy you got what you wanted for your ps3, that's great news for you.

I would get one at BB and get the 2yr. warranty.. it's time for some gaming baby!!!

Dan if you're interested in getting a 360 with a good warranty for the cheap, I suggest getting it a Target. A 3 year Target extended warranty is like $39 maybe less.

You know Target will be in business 3 years from now.

I bought a PS3 from BB with the 2 year warranty which was $99 which I returned when my graphics card died.

It was explained to me that if there was a problem the first year of the warranty that BB would try to repair at the store. Since this was not a 360 though, I am sure they would just exchange it for a new one, but I would be very surprised if you did not have to buy a new warranty.

If that warranty is the same as CompUSA's where they exchange it for a new one for three years, that is a HELLUVA buy and warranty. Worth checking out to be sure....

It is not like CompUSA's and the manufacturer warranty precedes the Target warranty, so the RRoD would only get repaired by Target if it is in the third year of the warranty, and their phone reps seem VERY aware of X360 issues. It is an example of "you pay for what you get," IMO.

I called Target last night, and they confirmed what you stated, but it was unclear whether or not I can simply take the 360 back and exchange it if and when it should break down. I need to get more information, because obviously I'd rather not have to send it to MS for repairs. I'm pretty sure that is not the case, because then why would I even go through Target. So, I'm wondering if it then would be Target repairing the system themselves.

Dan I think you have to go through Target on their warranties. One other place that I believe offers extended warranties is Walmart. You might want to check with them and if they do find out how they handle their extended warranties.

Doesn't TRU or Costco have like 90 days or more to return?

There's some speculation that the Halo edition finally has the 65 nanometer chips.

Or maybe MS is planning to clear inventory of the 90 nm chips through the Holidays first.

According to Target, you go through their replacement plan via a 866 number. If you should have any problems with the system within the first 90 days, you can simply take it back to the store for an even exchange. After the 90 days, you can decide whether to go through the manufacturer warranty, or through Target's warranty plan, which is $30. It takes them 7-10 days to send you the labels and box, and another 7-10 days for them to repair it and send it back.

So, my question is why go through Target's warranty when you already have a 3 year warranty from MS? They did say if they can't repair the system, then they will mail out a gift card for a new system. So, that's a plus, but I'd rather not be inconveinenced while waiting for it to be repaired.

Dan is there a Best Buy in your area? They have the easiest no hassle warranties for the 360.

Sure do. 10 minutes away. Just got off the phone with them. This seems like an easy decision. For $59.99, I can replace the system as many times as needed within the two year period. There's no repurchasing the warranty or anything like that. Target seems like a good deal for three years @ $30, but you have the hassle of sending it in and waiting for it to be repaired. Then you have to repurchase the warranty which isn't spelled out unless you ask.

Might check out Comp USA, but I'm leaning heavily towards Best Buy.

Thanks for the advice guys!

If what you state above IS true, then there is no need to check out CompUSA as the BB warranty is better because you have to purchase a new TAP warranty at CompUSA each time you do an exchange. I will keep this in mind for the future....

I love the Best Buy plan. Walk in, grab a new 360, leave... They'll even let u pull the HD off you 360 and swap it on the spot.

Just picked up my 360 from Best Buy. Again, I confirmed the $59.99 replacement plan just to be sure. They reiterated that you do not have to repurchase the warranty. I needed to hear it twice.

I was all set to pick up the Premium, but did not see any on the shelves. There were no sales reps around, and I didn't feel like following a rep around the store as he or she finishes up with Joe Customer. So, impulsively, I purchased the Halo 3 360 edition. I noticed it comes with a play and charge kit, so that made the decision easier to accept. And while I'm not a big Halo fan, the color is different and kind of cool. If anyone is interested in the gamer theme and pics, let me know!

So, now to make room for the 360 AND the brick. I'm now not worried about running the 360 too long, as I now have peace of mind with the replacement plan.

By the way, the lot number on the 360 Halo edition I purchased is 0730. Unfortunately, its not the 734 which supposebly has the 65 chip.

Sounds like you made the right choice, now we'll have to exchange games when we are tired of them.

What games are you looking to get right off the bat?

Picking up NBA 2K8 for sure. More than likely, CH2K8 as well. After that, most likely COD4. I'm interested in finally checking out some of the demos I've missed out on over the last four months or so. Plus, of course I'll be renting Bioshock and Halo 3 over the next week or two. In regards to sports games, I'll check out NHL 08 and Madden and see how they compare to the ones I played on the PS3.

I've got a lot of downloading to do as I have a good 8 arcade games I purchased in the past.
