Oh, and that is a superbly written review btw. Also, when a game can get IGN to mention Dostoevsky in its review it's got to be something special.

Honestly, the IGN and Team X-Box reviews pretty much say it all.

I couldn't beat the pipe game either. I just ended up spending the 10 credits or so for the easy hack. Now that i've seen videos of people playing the mini game i think i'll give the demo a third go. Also, anyone know if their will be a PC Limited Edition? I haven't seen it listed on eb or gamestop web sites but I read a while back that their would be one. I normally never buy into the LE scam, but i must admit that the Big Daddy figure is quite nice. THat would be worth an extra 10 bucks.MizzouRah wrote:Yeah, that pipe mini game was giving me fits in the demo. Damn I want to play this game badly!!!!!

I cannot wait for this game. I've never been more gripped by a game than when I played System Shock 2. If those guys made a Blues Clues fighting game I would buy it just to support them.
I realize that was a joke, but Eurogamer is in my opinion the best site on the web for game reviews. That has been a daily web stop for me for a long time. Those guys do a great, great job. Anyone that wants balanced, informed well thought out game reviews would do well to bookmark that site.dbdynsty25 wrote:Like we give a f*ck what the Euros think.
Steve would so kick Joe's ass. Watch out for Paprika, though.btmmayor wrote: If those guys made a Blues Clues fighting game I would buy it just to support them.
Agreed!btmmayor wrote:

And yes, I SO want Bioshock it is ridiculous.
Joe is a freaking panzy. Paprika is a bit older now so you might be right there too. If I had to win one fight though I would go with Side Table Drawer.......bad ass!!webdanzer wrote:

Anyway, sorry to derail the thread temporarily. I'm so excited for Bioshock that I actually preordered the limited edition. I don't think I've ever bought a collectors/limited edition video game in my life.
I love it that it's not another WW2 shooter or something that has to do with middle earth.
I really want a open-eneded western game that was great. That would be a nice change of pace.
I think Bio-Shock is going to be game-o-year material. Much more so than Halo.

I tend to agree. While I think Halo 3 will be very good I don't think it's GOTY material. You mentioned open ended western game. I'm not sure but maybe you might like Mass Effect.JRod wrote:I love it that it's not another WW2 shooter or something that has to do with middle earth.

Oblivion in the Old West...I've desired a game like that for some time. Boy, that'd be awesome...

I remember reading about a game just like that for the PS2 launch. The game never came out but it was a rpg set in the old west like Oblivion.tealboy03 wrote:JRod wrote:

As for Bioshock, I can't wait until it's released. I'm so jealous of people that were able to get it already.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

I need help.. I have played the BIOSHOCK demo more over the past few days than any of my store bought games. I can't believe how great this game is going to be. Reviewers are right, it takes every element about designing a game and does them all perfectly. From the graphics to the gameplay, to the environment, to the AI, this game has it all.
If the full game plays like the demo (which by all accounts it's even better from what I've read), I would give this game a 5/5, 10/10, 100/100 - whichever scale you want to use, it's THAT good in my opinion. Half Life was my favorite FPS of all time (man that was a long time ago) - but I believe there will be new #1 on my list soon.

That is the formula for a great first person game. I remember holding my breath as I walked the halls of the Von Braun in SS2. Fatal Frame 2 (in first person mode on the Xbox) had a similar affect on me as I explored the village. Its the sense of dread and discovery as you try to piece together just what is happening. Its such a different game experience compared to running ahead full speed with guns blazing. Very few games have ever pulled it off effectively, but the ones that can are classics.Brando70 wrote:I haven't played a game with this much dread lurking around every corner since Silent Hill 2.
