Congratulations to Greg Willard, Tim Donaghy and Eddie F. Rush for giving us the most atrociously officiated game of the playoffs so far: Game 3 of the Suns-Spurs series. Bennett Salvatore, Tom Washington and Violet Palmer must have been outraged that they weren't involved in this mess. Good golly. Most of the calls favored the Spurs, but I don't even think the refs were biased -- they were so incompetent that there was no rhyme or reason to anything that was happening. Other than the latest call in NBA history (a shooting foul for Manu Ginobili whistled three seconds after the play, when everyone was already running in the other direction), my favorite moment happened near the end, when the game was already over and they called a cheap bump on Bruce Bowen against Nash, so the cameras caught Mike D'Antoni (the most entertaining coach in the league if he's not getting calls) screaming sarcastically, "Why start now? Why bother?" What a travesty. Not since the cocaine era from 1978-1986 has the league faced a bigger ongoing issue than crappy officiating.
He rejected a trade to the Celtics before the draft.
But now after the Ray Allen trade, which was universally criticized, KG changes his mind?
Actually, he should have accepted a trade to the East. Because if Lebron can take such an average Cleveland team to the Finals out of the East, the route to the Finals is pretty easy from the East.
That is supposedly what Kobe is thinking, that he could probably carry a team much farther in the East than he could in the East, which is why he was pushing to get traded.

So when can I purchase my NBA League Pass subscription?
The Celtics have been so bad that the NBA had become an afterthought for me. I mean, I even lost interest in NBA video games. This trade changes everything. Hope it goes through soon.

It is a lot of players but who knows how many of them will stick on the roster.
One of the draft picks should be a good one--it is the pick the Wolves sent the Celtics as a part of the Ricky Davis-Wally Sczerbiak swap a couple years ago...although due to a technicality, the pick the Wolves owe the Clippers, and the Wolves' bleak future, that pick probably would have morphed into a 2011 or 2012 second rounder instead of a first rounder.
No risk of losing that pick to the Clippers (top 10 protected) for a while, either.
I was actually hoping if the Celtics won the lottery and got Oden, the Warriors might swoop in and get Jefferson.
Oh well.
Green is suppose to have potential as a highlight machine.
But otherwise, I guess the Wolves weren't going to get superstars back.
When KG signed the big contract, I recall an article saying the Wolves had to do it because without him, their viability in Minneapolis was in question.
Even with him, I heard their attendance was declining recently.
What now? Try to build around Jefferson, Foye and Brewer. They'll have a top-five pick in the spring so they should be able to add an Eric Gordon/Derrick Rose/OJ Mayo/Kevin Love type guy.
Before the scandal, every team which didn't like their arena lease was lusting at moving to Vegas, the fastest-growing city in the country, the number-one tourist destination in the country.
I don't know if the subprime mortgage market woes have affected Vegas but the real estate market was red hot too.
I bet if some owner group offered like $500 million for an expansion franchise, Stern will find a way. That is why he's been trying to prevent other teams from moving there.
The Maloofs would probably like to move the Kings there and Seattle wants to get out of that city.
I think Joakim Noah is going to surprise a lot of people in Chicago. It was revealed that he played most of the past season with a injured shoulder. People wondered why his stats fell off after he was MVP of the prior tournament, but it was probably due to his bad shoulder. If he gets 100% healthy and works on his game, he will improve with every game.
His work ethic was unmatched while with the Gators and I can see him doing everything he can to improve his weaknesses.
The state of Arizona (and myself) are both really pissed at Donaghy...they are looking into his playoff games with the Suns and are going to prosecute accordingly. F'n awesome!

Microfracture. Hope he can recover like Amare...just gonna take 18 months.
Pretty sad. I haven't seen Oden play that much outside of the tournament last year and from what I saw his game didn't depend on elevating and attacking the basket. Maybe the injury won't effect him much when he returns.
