Would the fact that NFL Europe is no more be a good reason?
I liked the new 2k7 camera until I started playing EA's game. After that I just wished the camera was pulled back more because I couldn't see enough of the ice.

Hopefully they added the feature in NHL that will let us save pictures and video replays and upload them to the web like they are doing with this years NCAA football game.
How well that stuff works is gonna make or break the game for me. How the players move and react to contact is where every play starts and ends, and was the major reason I couldn't get into 07. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because at least they have the right idea.
Thanks for the link Divot. That looked great! I can't wait for this game. I know I'm setting myself up for a letdown but after 07 you can't help but think of what 08 can be with another year under its' belt. The checking and skating already look much better and tie that with last years' controls and graphics and this could easily be SGOTY. I thought 07 was SGOTY but I was reluctant to come to that conclusion. In the end the way it changed the way hockey games are played and was a blast to play led me to pick it as my SGOTY.

The stopping and turning on a dime looked as realistic as I've ever seen it in this series. The new Jerseys look amazing. Hoping that the transition from Offense to Defense is improved, and a much better framerate.

wow thanks for that, skating looks awsome now. Deflections looked realy good too and the fake shot pass is a nice adition just looked weird in that example and also the stick handleing looks kinda unrealistic now they need to tone the speed of it down some.
Puck deflections are sorely missing in both games and I look forward to implementing them more in 08. In 07 we saw some deflections in the game but with the help of the CPU, now the control is on you.
Aren't any of your worried that it's just gonna be way too easy to "undress" a defensemen with the skill stick? That's my problem with all this skill stick stuff. It puts too much emphasis on playing "cute" hockey, something that you don't see work very often in real life.

It would depend on the individual playing the game and the type of player that you're controlling. I certainly don't expect S. Avery to be stick handling like S. Crosby and EA was careful with that in 07. I personally still like to play a strategic game and skill stick if I have to when I am one on one with the goalie.
I would have to say that NHL 07 has been the most played 360 game I've ever owned so far. In both single player and playing against my neighbor.. it's just been played countless times.
I almost feel bad trading it in as I await NHL 08.
You think you guys are excited....I've never played NHL07 outside of a few times at Best Buy. I considered renting it these past couple months, but thought that if I waited till NHL08, I would be in pure heaven.
Being Canadian, I should really never take a break from hockey, but over the past few years I've really drifted away. However, a game like this, plus the dramatic improvement of the Leafs (yeah right) might just get me back on board!
