On an unrelated note, has anybody watched a game on the demo cam yet? It's perfect...hopefully there's a way to play using this camera angle.

Since this is a game about legends and not the NFL that's a huge problem. Let's say I want to play against a team with Montana and Rice then play with Montana and Barry Sanders that can't happen right now. You can select different teams but the CPU teams are set.
I'm confused. I thought the teams were pre-set, but if you're created team had a legend on it that a preset team did, then it would fill that spot with another legend. Is that not the case?

Also can either of you tell me, can you create multiple teams and play them against each other in exhibition mode? We have 4 guys in the office, can we create 4 teams and then just play exhibition matches? Or do you draft your team at the start of a 2 player exhibition match?
2nd question. I can't find a way how right now. I suppose if you have a second controller plugged in it might let you select your other created teams. I'll try that in a bit.

No the pre-set teams are just that pre-set. The way 2k set this up is like this. You don't draft 11 players when you play an exibition game. All the teams CPU teams are pre-set and the user teams are pre-created. Meaning you created this team and now you select them in exibition mode.

There's no drafting anyone in this game. You don't get a pool of legends right before the exibition mode and select 11 while the CPU does the same.
I guess I have my head up my a**. I thought all the players were in a pool, then a normal draft would ensue and teams would always be different? Now that I know this is not true, 2k will not be getting my money, I can see this getting boring pretty quickly.

Maybe I'll rent it at some point, but I don't understand this one bit.

I could be wrong about this, but I think everytime you start a new season the teams are repopulated. Is that not the case?

From what JRod is saying, that's not the case. Hopefully a couple people can try starting multiple seasons and verify how the rosters are handled. If they are the same every time with the exception of your team, then that would be reason enough for me to wait on this. If all of the teams change each time, then my itch for a 360 just got a lot bigger :)

Is anyone else playing on PS3, or do I need to break down and start up another XBox Live account? Either way, I'd be up for a tournament or league.

What are some of the lineups on the other teams like for everybody? Are all the teams the same for everybody? I just played the Dallas Gunslingers last night and they had Brodie at QB and McNeil at RB. Is that the same in your seasons?

Something I think some of you are forgetting is the fact that just because you play one season doesn't mean the next season you play will be the same. You only play 16 games so there's still plenty of teams you haven't even played yet.

Thanks to someone over at OS, I'm glad to answer my own question and report that the demo cam is again playable this year. Can't wait to get home and try it out:

"This trick was done on 2k5 and it works with APF as well

press pause
go to choose sides and put the controller icon in the middle (so CPU has control of your team)
then go to option and turn on coach mode
unpause (let it run for a few seconds)
press pause again
go to choose sides and take control of your team (dont forget to turn off coach mode)
viola playable broadcast cam...unlike 2k5 the camera angle is pulled back a bit more

ive already played a full game with this angle and the gameplay speed is just about right. Its easy to blow by defenders and its a bit harder to get an angle when trying to tackle somebody (after reading the manual i didnt know that pressing up or down with right stick goes for high low tackles :P)

as for passing...well just hope for the best :) "

I believe there's 6 divisions of 4 for 24 teams. So after a season there's still 11 teams you haven't played.

I played the Gunslingers in an exhibition game last night, and I do remember them having Brodie at QB, not sure about McNeil though. I also remember they had Deacon Jones at DE unfortunately.

I played the CPU Gunslingers on my team and I could have sworn they had John Elway.

I'll try and get in on this this weekend if there are any slots left. Just had a fantastic game last night, playing offline in the first game of a new season. My San Diego Navigators beat the SF Sharks in Overtime, 16 to 10....

Had a couple of fun moments. One was a catch that I made for a pretty big gain and my second foot was clearly out of bounds. It didn't seem like the other team was going to challenge it so I watched the replay a few times. As soon as I jumped back into the game, the other coach threw the red-flag. :( Don't know what the replay official was smoking, but the play stood. :D

Later in the game, in overtime, I made a great completion for the first down, again along the sidelines, but it was ruled incomplete. I slammed my hand down in disgust but then I look up and see that the booth has decided to review the play. I wasn't hopeful for an overturn given the previous challenge flub, but they actually overturned it and gave me the catch!

I really like the atmosphere in this game, even if it's not 60FPS, the fields look like sheets of green tarp, and the announcers get repetitive... It's just plain fun to play...

I'd be interested if it's this weekend. Got lucky and rented it from BB at lunch time.

I'm on PS3 now as well. I made the (fiscal) mistake of playing it at Best Buy this afternoon, realized how much I missed the series, and had a 10% off coupon in my pocket...the rest is history. Plus, after playing more EA football (literally fell asleep while playing NCAA last night...OK, I was tired  ) I do realize how important it is to have an alternative. The graphics aren't any better than NCAA on PS3 but the animations are better/smoother and the gameplay is fun.

I'll be curious to hear if anyone else gives the demo cam a try. On a big screen tv, it really is a blast to play, especially as near side defensive end. It really does give you a different feeling for the game rushing the qb from this angle. It also feels like you're playing a real tv broadcast.

JRod, look at my post in this threat about 10 posts ago. I copied it from somebody over at OS. Definitely worth checking out, IMO.

I think I made the unbeatable defense. I just played 2 games on Legend and held the CPU offense to a total of 37 yards in those 2 games. 17 yards in game one and 20 in game 2.

Can't wait to take these guys online.

I've still got a 360 but let my Live account laps 6 months or so ago. I think I've only turned the machine on once since I got the PS3. I picked up the game for both systems but haven't opened the 360 copy yet..just have been playing on PS3. I'm up for playing on either system, though.

I am really loving this game. The gameplay is fantastic. I have a few quibbles with certain gameplay aspects but overall, this game seperates itself from NCAA.

I've been using a team with an Elway-Shannon Sharpe combe. You better have a gold/silver safety becuase he will burn most guys. I love throwing to Sharpe over the top as the the Broncos used to do with him. Golds are a little too strong but with Elway/Sharpe, I don't have a good oline. I have 1 other bronze receiver and my running attack consists of Christian Okoye.

Here's what they should do with this game. Just make a generic football game that takes you from high school, to the pros with legends thrown in. Maybe like the WE regen style. Call it the Road to Sunday and make a complete football game.

The gameplay is so good that if this game even had anything that resembles the craptacular Master League, I would be very happy.

I played a few games against Toper and TCrouch. Terry and I had a semi-epic 4th quarter both having John Elway. But would good games but it felt like the game was running at a slower framerate. No real slowdown to speak of.
