Well after downloading the roster update. The game definately plays a little different.
-CPU dumps in the puck more.
- CPU a little more aggressive on the defense
-Minor rebounding physic changes. More shots seem to go higher up.

It seems they have made very minor changes but you can definately see them.

I hope EA really makes this game just about perfect next year.. that will definitly get me buying a 360 again.

IMO, it's the best sports game the 360 has to offer and I really hope they don't f'k that up next year.

totally agree. NHL07 and College Hoops 2K7/NBA2k7 are head and shoulders about all other 360 sports games. Football, baseball and soccer leave me wondering what happened.

Forgot about College Hoops 2k7 - which imho was the best 2k sports game to date.

After playing NHL 07 with the new rosters, it has renewed my interest in the game. They have made minor tweaks to the gameplay and it shows.

I started a new season with the updated rosters playing on All Star level and it does seem like something in the gameplay has changed for the better. The superstar players seem to stand out more in the few games I've played. I was down 1-0 in a game against Detroit with less than a minute to go in the game and with my goalie pulled I was able to score a goal to tie it, then I was able to score a beautiful goal with Crosby on a three on two to get the game winner soon after that, I hadn't been able to make a move like I did with him there in the previous 2 seasons I had played. Also in a game against the Rangers, Jagr was making some great moves, he had a sort of dominating presence on the ice like the superstar players should.

Yeh thats probly true Vader im sure the tweaks they are able to do are offensive awareness and others to improve the positioning and such. Dont know what attributes EA uses but that must be what they did.

By bumping my playing level to Superstar I realized that the game was more realistic and did not know noticed the framerate issue as much as playing on Pro. It's still not silky smooth as 2K7 but I was pleasantly surprised of the gameplay at this new level.

I have the game speed at one or zero at times and I am having a lot of close games.

Downloaded the roster update and I definitly agree, this game REALLY plays differently than before. WOW, the CPU teams cycle the puck and work the offense much better now.

I remember my neighbor saying last night, "I'm amazed at how great this game simulates hockey, the computer team cycles the puck just like the real NHL."

He has a ps2 and this was his first time seeing an Xbox 360 game, needless to say he waited until I got home tonight and then said, "Can I play some more hockey?" :)

Nicely done EA! (haven't said that in awhile)

My neighbor bought a 360 and NHL 07 and we've been having a blast playing against eachother. I beat him last night in a shootout after a great game.

I'm still playing my solo franchise and I will agree, this roster update did something special. I'm not afraid to say this might be my favorite console sports game ever.

If this same game played at 60fps, I might not put another 360 game in my console again.

I still have it and will probably continue my franchise soon. I saw a couple of others playing tonight. It's a great game.

A big step forward for EA on this game. My last couple of online games were laggy and I finally decided to sell it as part of my trade in for F1 for the PS3. Keeping 2K7 for now but with 08 and 2K8 on the horizon, it'll be gone soon too.

I'll most likely be playing NHL 07 up until 08 comes out. With the exception of the online multiplayer mode and pond hockey in NHL Rivals, this is easily my most favorite hockey game of all time.

Finished up my season on all star difficulty with another Stanley Cup win over the Coyotes in 5 games. Toughest series was the opening round against the Islanders where I fell behind 3 games to 1.

It was the latest roster update. I ended up with the President's trophy in the regular season with 115 points and that was a fierce battle with Calgary as they ended up with 112. Most of the regular season games were close games, I was just lucky to come out on the winning side the majority of the time.

Thought for sure I was going to have a first round exit after falling behind 3 games to 1 and then in the second round Buffalo was up 1 game to none and game two went scoreless until I scored 10 minutes into ot, ended up outshooting them 60-30 in that game, their goalie was just making absolutely crazy saves in that game. Took Philly in 6 games and in that series I had my most lopsided victory of the entire season with a 7-1 win. The finals ended up being the easiest series as the Coyotes didn't provide much offense and I had a couple of shutouts against them in that series.

I ended up using my backup goalie Thibault more than Fleury after that first series against the Islanders as Fleury was just giving up way too many rebounds and that paid off as Thibault played outstanding the rest of the playoffs.

I'll probably just sim most of the upcoming regular seasons and just the play the playoff games to see how the young players progress throughout franchise mode. Also after a few more seasons I'll have to bump it up to superstar level to see how well I can do with it. 08 is definitely going to be great being able to play both the big club and minor league teams at the same time.

In a concession to necessity, (or perhaps because they really liked the implementation), 2K is copying the skill stick for NHL 2K8.

They pretty much had to do this or their game was going to be dead in the water.

My 82 game ONLINE season (XSHL) went into playoffs about a week and a half ago.

Tonight I won game seven in overtime, and I swear I was shaking the entire OT. I don't know too many games that give me that kind of feeling. Playing the right kind of people really sets this game apart.

2K8 sounds pretty sweet, especially some of the rumours I've heard. Looking forward to showing more.

It's amazing the number of DSPers still playing NHL 07. The other night, according to XBL, there were 4 of us playing it at the same time.

I still play this game on most days. I can't wait for 08 to drop. I've always been a 2K guy, but 2K7 just felt boring compared to '07.

Care to mention other DSPers playing? If not, I understand.

I'm still playing NHL 07 regularly. I'm ten games away from finishing the regular season, which would be a first for me in video hockey I believe. I'll definitely keep playing this until NHL 08 is released, I'm still having a blast and seeing new things every game.
