Hey guys,
Seems like there is a lot of positive talk on the net about the update. To the casual baseball guy who was scared off by the initial reviews, does the update make the game more worthy of a purchase? The original IGN review mentioned odd slowdowns etc... are those things still there?? are they game breakers?

DL the update and I do like the new camera angle, even though there's a lot of stutter. Still don't have much fun with the game, but the new camera helps move the game along. Is it me or does it seem like the game plays faster and the fielders react faster with this camera angle?
Also like how they are putting up old stadiums as free downloadable content.

I notice a little bit of studder every now and then.Inuyasha wrote:DL the update and I do like the new camera angle, even though there's a lot of stutter. I agree, the new camera angle makes the game flow much better.

I've been reading about that. Sucks for those who like to edit the rosters. I already had a franchise in progress with the June 18th roster update - no edits.. so I've been fine.dbdynsty25 wrote:If you guys like the patch...do not, I repeat, do not edit your rosters (stances, attributes, equipment) in your season. It will corrupt the save and you will not be able to save anymore. Yeah, that happened to me. Nothing like fixing one thing, then breaking another.
Love the camera though.

It very much does suck because the batting stances by almost all of the Braves are HORRIBLE. I know exactly who's stances go with who and I had all of that edited previously. I wanted to get Salty and Escobar in my Braves lineup with their names and faces, but I couldn't do that unless I got the roster update...the one you can't change. Ahhhhhhh. So all of my guys are there, they just look like s***. I guess I gotta hold out for ANOTHER patch, to patch the patch so I can edit them.MizzouRah wrote:I've been reading about that. One would think 2k will fix this.. the question is, when and how long?dbdynsty25 wrote:It very much does suck because the batting stances by almost all of the Braves are HORRIBLE. i guess its if your an east coast team and finish your season it does not properly sim the west coast teams(late games) and allow them to finish the last game causing a freeze. The wack workaround was to sim and sim again until you got a tie in a division for an extra playoff game resulting in an extra calendar day which would allow the season to sim all team correctly.
lets hope it they fixed that!!! I would love to read an official patch update list, but then that would mean someone has to admit fault, which Brinkman has already done.

I'm back to a few games on AP defaults and might try Pro defaults tonight as the sliders I was using don't really work right with the update.kicko wrote:wow, the pole cam is fantastic! I would love to know if they fixed the horrible franchise end-of-season bug.
It seems to me that the pitcher fatigue is different, I was in the 8th with about 49%. I had my slider at 45 and i would get about 35% in the 7th.
What do you guys have yours at?
I haven't played this game in a while, but wow, are you guys saying that the update seems to tweak things addressed by the sliders?! More than just pitching fatigue??MizzouRah wrote:I'm back to a few games on AP defaults and might try Pro defaults tonight as the sliders I was using don't really work right with the update.kicko wrote:wow, the pole cam is fantastic! If so, I think I am going to cry.
it seems so web, but the real issue is what. The crazy part of the game is that it was such a tweakfest to start with they could lets us know what was touched. I played 3 games since the update and all my pitches easily went all 9, when before i would get tired in the 6th, 7th or 8th realisticly. So now we have to guess and retweak.
I wonder if the new roster has different ratings to change gameplay similar to nhl07's last update
I am not using the new roster, since i didnt want to kill my season.

I had my power & such cranked waaay down becuase of too many HR's. Now after the update, it seems the amount of HR's actually match my power settings! So much so, I may have to crank the power up a few notches, but need to play a few more games before I do that.

i am loving this game all over again.. my biggest gripe was the roster issue in any mode other than Exhibition - lineups all out of whack.. the new roster update at least somewhat corrected this issue to at least appease me (the big issues still were the Cubs (Derrick Lee ) & Cardinals (Scott Rolen) having wrong leadoff men... corrected this with some attribute adjustements..
Patch was great! seems wall climbing is a touch easier now to do, plus love the pole cam... I simmed a season, & it seems that the CPU does now at least "attempt" to put back injured players into the lineup instead of letting them rot in the minors (Kearns injured twice & got back into the lineup) - still checking to make sure about this.. Also, when I got into the next year, the problem with relief pitchers missing seemed to clear up..

I agree NY...this game now has legs.
To solve the roster edit issue after the patch, you just need to do all of your edits before you start a season. If you download the new rosters and want to use those, you're gonna have to restart your season anyway...so doing all of the player editing prior to starting the season works fine. That way you don't have a bunch of generic players up to bat all the time.
