I really caught that much air. It was at Laguna, and I drove it backwards, and hit the chicane at an angle at about 90 mph. What happened after that was REEALLY ugly...Leadfoot5 wrote:Did you really catch that much air or is that a Photoshop job???? Amazing!

Ok color me stupid as i have never messed with this stuff before. But i went in tonight and was messing around. How in the hell are you guys getting custom images in there?
I looked through the manual and I don't see anything about that.

There aren't any custom images. You lay a series of simple polygon shapes in layer format, one on top of the other. For mine in particular, the Tiger is a series of about 100 different shapes, lines, etc. Just have to be creative in the construction of it. You can't import a picture, but you CAN create just about anything you want by stacking and rotating tons of basic polygonal shapes. You just have to draw and create things from scratch and try to make it look as close as possible to whatever you're modeling.

Yes, you can. Since you can 'gift' cars to friends, you can just slap the decal scheme onto any old cheap car and give the car to someone. Then, that person can save the decal scheme, and then use it on any car he wants. There may be some messy bits at the edges of each surface, so you might have to tweak it a little from car to car, but it's set up to be easy to transfer decal schemes from one car to the next.Danimal wrote:Holy s*** you did that by hand!
Good lord.
Can you trade paint schemes like this online?

Teal...that general lee shot catching some air is awesome!! I assume you chose american as your home or whatever? I still haven't gotten my copy of the game yet.
Leadfoot, love the designs man. They look great!
I remember trying to mess with this stuff in the first Forza. I still can't see how you guys do this. I mean, I understand the concept, with the layers and all, but putting it into practice is another thing. I guess you just really have to sit down and spend some time learning, especially if you have no graphic design background/artistic abilities at all.

There's a little "fang" shape. Just spun it, made it black, and resized it.Phototropic wrote:Terry,
What shape(s) did you use for the tiger stripes on that car?
If you mean the bigger blue stripes themselves...I think those were just a seriously enlarged "wave" stripe on the 2nd tab of shapes. You have to look at the shapes and not necessarily how they look in the selection box, but imagine just blowing them up to huge proportions. All of the black stripes outlining the Tony the Tiger are actually that "C" arc in the first page. You can stretch it to just a slight curve, etc.
Just takes some patience and tinkering, for sure.

Thanks. I need to experiment more with the curved shapes like that.TCrouch wrote:There's a little "fang" shape. Just spun it, made it black, and resized it.Phototropic wrote:Terry,

Yep, I chose American. I like cars from overseas, but my love is good ol' American muscle. It'll cost me more to get the cars across the pond, but it's worth it to me to be awarded beasts like that 69 Charger, the Chevelles, and so forth.TheTruth wrote:Teal...that general lee shot catching some air is awesome!! And thanks for the kudos. I was kind of surprised I got that much air when I did it, and so far, I haven't been able to replicate it very well, so I'm glad I got the shot!
My designs are very rudimentary and simple so far. Terry, Tony never looked better! My kiddos would get a kick out of that. I'm gonna try to expand and experiment as I get more cars. I'm now working on one called 'The Teal Mobile', a PT Cruiser that will have my wife and kids and me represented on it, but probably NOT in picture form...I just don't have the patience for that...
