Fulham´s got 2 of our (US) best players, both starting and playing 90´ game in, game out, and the team are doing better now that they´ve got them; hanging in the top 10, and if they are really good and a little lucky, they just may qualify for some European action next year. Just a suggestion!
"That´s exactly why I like them. I love Van Der Sar and then the two yanks, Boco and McBride...can´t go wrong with liking Fulham. I´m definitely glad I watched the match between them and West Ham last night on my newly added FSW. LOL"
OMG!!!! Yeah, that 2nd half was really great. I mean, they just took over once the final 30 min. of the match started, and didn´t let up. The first goal was awesome, Boca with the long ball, McBride just superb. (Sure, they should have crushed them the first time, not to mention the first 45 of this meeting, but quality won out in the end).

And to hear the match commentator talk about McBride as a "very, very good striker" and "his reputation preceeded him" just had me laughing with joy. I mean, I was thinking, "this guy´s a Yank, man, what are you talking about him like he´s a real footballer for?" He was going on and on about the "Primiereship quality really showing itself," and he´s referring to Americans! Just awesome. I can´t help but root for Fulham now.

Keepers are one thing; we know we have good ones (thanks to Keller and Friedel making careers; it´s the hoops, man, the round ball). But field players have a tough row to hoe to get the Euros to take ´em for real. McBride and Boca are doing a LOT with their performances to make it easier for the next group of guys. Especially McBride from last year, hitting it hard in the few matches he had. Imgine if Donovan and Convey were also in England right now, as they should be.

I wish McBride had been given a chance after ´98, but now Boca is the same age McBride would have been after ´98, so these are the 5 years coming up where Boca can really make a huge impression on Euros about American players. Not to mention Mathis, and if they would just let Convey play. . . .

Baby steps, people, but we are atill moving forward.
