I'm pretty made up right now - my Sens in the Stanley Cup final and my beloved Liverpool in the Champions League Final. :)

I think the sens will close it out on SAT...the ducks/wings...gonna go 7.
Of course that would have been nice to see  As NBC pulls the game off as its to go into OT.. for f*cking pre ceremony of "The Preakness.
Bettman needs to crawl on his hands and knees back to ESPN. Unbelievable...well not really :x
That was pretty pathetic. Thank the lord I have versus or I would have been doing the old tv toss.
So they switched OT to versus ? Damn i dvr'd it . nothing i could do about it.
Pretty bad programming realy.

Not sure what to say except I got the whole thing on NBC here. They didn't switch at all, went through a Poker Heads Up Tourney is all.

They switched on saturday during Sens /Sabres game to do the Preakness here in Chicago.

I guess its all up to the local affilate?

Ah, thanks. I don't read this thread very much, just wanted to see what people were saying about a horrible Ducks performance with a win. Very strange game, to say the least.

Yeah they did the same thing here with yesterday's game, was surprised they stuck with the overtime today. Nice goal by Selanne.

Whats up with Brett Hull ? I thought Ducks were every bit as good as Wings in OT.

I like him but he may be too strong with his opinions for tv.

No Bert tonight for the Wings?

http://www.globesports.com/servlet/stor ... sptwings21

Watch them win without him. The Ducks scored more goals than in any other game in this series in Game 4 without Pronger, so who needs stars? :)

Take care,
PK

I feel for Bert. Just as he was starting to get his game going, he gets this setback. But I agree that DET has enough depth to go without him and people like Datsyuk & Zetterberg has to pick it up a notch, ditto for their PP and they better solve Jiggy who's been hot.

With Bertuzzi's injury problems it makes the Luongo trade the steal of the century.

In the end, Ducks were just too much for the tired an sloppy Wings. By the time they woke up in the third period the game was over, their bigger forwards just wore down DET. The veterans seemed to run out of gas and the youngsters just came woke a bit too late to mount any comeback.

It's going to be a great final, I hate to see C. Pronger getting there for the second year in a row, but I think the best two teams are well represented in this Stanley Cup version. I picked OTT & SJ from the beginning of the season in the finals, but the other California team is not shabby at all.

It's the third time a Canadian team reaches the SC finals in a row, it's time the Cup returns to Canada: Ottawa in seven.

Obviously, for me, that was disappointing.

Normally, I'd wish a team that vanquished the Wings good luck (Oilers, Flames, etc.), but this time I'm pulling hard for the Sens. I'm gonna have a bit of hate for the Ducks for a while after this one. (Giguere excepted; he's just a great, great goalie.)

Finals prediction: Ducks in 6.

As much as it pains me to say, Anaheim will pound Ottawa physically just as it did Detroit and prevail in a tight series.

What does Ottawa have to counter the size and speed of the Penner-Getzlaf-Perry line? Nothing. Sure, the line of Alfie-Spezza-Heatley is superb right now, but it doesn't have the physical presence of Anaheim's Kid Line.

Anaheim also is deeper at the blue line than Ottawa, with Pronger, Niedermayer and Beauchemin. Corvo is having a superb playoff run for Ottawa, but he can't bang like Pronger or Beauchemin.

The Ducks also have the "vet factor," older players who will keep the room calm, such as Pronger, O'Donnell and May. Who is Ottawa's "been there, done that" guy -- Dean McAmmond?

I also don't see the goalie matchup as that close. Emery has played very well, but he also hasn't faced many shots. Giguere has been outstanding, and again, he's been this far before. He's a proven clutch performer.

Ottawa's team defense must continue to be as strong as it was in the first three rounds, but it won't because of the punishment that Anaheim will inflict. Ottawa hasn't faced any team as physical as Anaheim in the first three rounds, as Pittsburgh, New Jersey and Buffalo simply can't compare to the Ducks' crash and bang.

There's one final player who tips the series in Anaheim's favor: Sammy Pahlsson. The guy might be the most underrated forward in the NHL. So complete on defense, and his offensive contributions have been large in the playoffs.

I despise the Ducks, but the Cup will go yet again to a warm-weather market where no one cares other than the fans in the building.

Anaheim in 6.

Take care,
PK

Jim Balsillie, the same millionaire dude that tried to purchased the Penguins has succesfully bought the Predators a franchise in the rise for the past few years where only a few people give a damn in NAS. Too early to tell yet, but if they continue to sell only an average of 13.000 tickets per game, the team could move.

Let's hope Balsillie moves the team to Canada. Nashville doesn't deserve a team.

The Sens are playing well but all I keep seeing is Niedermayer and Pronger....I just see them being a huge difference in the series. I hope Brian Burke doesn't forget to have Kevin Lowe's named engraved again on the cup. I'm not saying Pronger is the end all be all for the Ducks but he sure as hell ain't hurting them.

Yeh but there is always one team that just stands out every year with me the way they are focused on the goal at hand the flow the effort the commitment and its been Ottawa this year and it was Buffalo until then i thought they were unstoppable and Sens dismantled them to the point of confusion.
And thats why im going with them. Up until the last Ducks game they hadnt even played well so roll on 28th and why the f*** do we have to wait this long ?

Because that's my first night home after three weeks in Indy. I put a call into Bettman and NBC. :)

Because the Honda Center isn't free until Monday. Some scheduling conflict that prevents any home games until then.

I think the Sens are for real this year. Most thought that the series with the Pens would be the end for them because of PITTS' youth, Crosby, Malkin, etc. Then came M. Brodeur and the Devils and we all know that they are not an easy team to play with. And just when everyone thought that the best team in the East would take care of them, OTT wins the series handedly in five.

ANA is a different beast alright. They have two big top lines that can hurt anyone. The key is shutting down Selanne who woke up in time the last two games vs DET & the Getzlaf line. They'll be using the checking line of Pahlsson for sure to shut down the Alfredsson line, but I think the Sens are deep enough to go all the way. They have to create traffic in front of Jiggy too.

The only guy that's happy Pronger is back in the Stanley Cup final is PK, as EDM gets an extra 1st rounder from the Ducks which was a conditional pick. But they got there, so Oilers fans rejoice.
