Now, if I can only get the NHL Network on dish, hmm. Decisions, decisions ... :)

If you mean dish network then that option is out for you as they dont carry setanta, direct tv only.
Hope that changes.

Nowhere. He just isn't doing Futbol Argentino any more. Hasn't done it for the last two seasons other than the Superclassico.

Christian Bozzo was solo most of last season, and Roger Valdivieso is the play-by-play man now.

The team of Bretos doing play-by-play and Bozzo on color from two seasons ago was the best soccer announcing tandem I've ever heard. Informative and entertaining as hell. Never took themselves too seriously.

Take care,
PK

Good point, and it's why I never watch River-Boca unless it's in the Apertura or Clausura.

I never watch them play in the Torneo de Verano -- meaningless tournament -- or in any Copa play because it just lacks the passion of an Argentine League matchup between the two. Those matches also dilute the rivalry, as Rob said.

I watch the Superclasico also only during the Apertura & Clausura schedule and any meaningful Copa Libertadores macth up between both teams but that hasn't happened lately. Like PK was saying, during the summer, Argentinian teams tune up their formations and newer players and they play in a round robin format including other popular teams as San Lorenzo, Independiente, Racing, etc. And Boca-River is a given in any summer tournament tune-up.

Roger Valdivieso just doesn't cut it for me in FA, I miss the Bozo-Bretos tandem dearly.

3-0 in the wind and the wet, bitches! The Return of the Cletus is well on its way! Show us your Clint! OK, so Dallas was screwed from the start with that schedule, but i've seen plenty of Metro openers where a big egg was laid in similar situations, so this is actually pretty surprising. And supposedly, JP Angel really is on the way, but I won't believe that until I see him holding the shirt.

Every American soccer fan should love seeing Cletus and EJ perform this week in MLS. Very promising for the young season. Cletus was huge for my fantasy squad this week too

Trying to keep a close eye on these transfer rumors today too. The deadline was supposedly yesterday, but it's said that both Schelotto and Angel will be announced on Tuesday. One more crazy rumor was that Chivas was making a last minute offer to intercept Schellotto. Then there's the rumor that won't die - Zidane. On foxsoccer.com today Nick Webster said "I also have it on good authority that the deal has already been done [for Zidane to LA]. " I'll be relieved when all this ridiculousness is over.

Well, it's official, JP Angel is signed to Red Bull and should be joining us in. . . who knows when. He said something about waiting to get the work visa in order and then will be ready to go, but I don't know if he will finish off the season with Villa or not.

This guy may be nearing the end of his career, but he will be a huge addition to us up front, and is a much higher class of player than just about anyone else in the league. Dude is going to tear it up in this league (if the Giants Stadium turf doesn't tear up his knees first. . . ) and should be really good for young Jozy's development as well. I just hope he and Mathis get along and play well together, because that pairing could be awesome.

I think this is a great signing. Even if he may not be an impact player in the EPL anymore, he is still only 31. As I understand, he really has a complete game and should undoubtedly be one of the best forwards in the league, if not the best.

Oh, and CNNSI.com has reported that Schelotto to Columbus is done. 1 year deal.

That's the guy. He did get a hair cut, though.

The things players will do to get off a team owned by me in the WE league. :)

It's a good signing.

Sheffield Wednesday has put a 2 million pound price tag on Frank Simek. Looks like he will be going to the EPL this summer.

Nice goal, but I haven't seen tackling that bad since the mid-90's Bears :)

"Shades of Maradona" is an understatement.

Check out this video comparison between Messi's goal and Maradona's. They are practically identical move for move.

EPL Spoiler

What a disgrace at Old Trafford! ManU were gifted the two point difference between loss and draw due to an unspeakably awful blown call by the ref. Boro were denied a clear penalty in injury time in classic bullshit Old Trafford style.

Any mystery as to why ManU can't replicate their domestic form in Europe is ended right there. If they got the same officiating breaks in Europe they'd have European Cups to spare! :)

I had been hoping that the scum hold off Chelsea's challenge, but no longer.

eh. Bad calls happen all the time, not just at Old Trafford. It was a blown call, but not that bad of one, and for all then noise the commentators were making about the ref being 'in perfect position' the fact is the angle he had on the play in question made it impossible for him to see whether O'Shea got any of the ball or not.

Sure, it should have been a penalty. But more, Boro should've had a second goal in the early part of the 2nd half but missed some good chances.

I had the alternate audio of crying baby going, but it's good to know that the commentators got it right too :) Horrible call!

That, Zep, sums up my thoughts quite neatly. Not so neatly that I'm not going to witter on for a while, mind. It probably was a penalty, with the benefit of a slow motion reverse angle replay, but I very much doubt that the referee's view of it could have allowed him to believe so, or at least not with the certainty needed to give the award. Certainly my first feeling was that it wasn't a penalty, and only upon further viewing did I come to revise that opinion. Having said it was probably a penalty, I should add that being defensively minded myself these days, I'd have been a tiny bit upset had it been given against me.

However, Alan Shearer raised a point on TV earlier that is pretty much assumed knowledge where United are involved but bears repeated airings - were they on the attack with Boro defending, it would likely have been given...[/i]

Nice comeback. Kaka played great, I thought Milan was too focused on Ronaldo.
