Guitar Hero 2 for 360 has all of the songs from the PS2 version plus: * Possum Kingdom - The Toadies
* Salvation - Rancid
* Life Wasted - Pearl Jam
* Billion Dollar Babies - Alice Cooper
* Hush - Deep Purple
* Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo - Rick Derrenger
* Dead! - My Chemical Romance
* The Trooper - Iron Maiden[/quote]

Yea I was asking how they were, how it sounds now that it officially supports 5.1 DD. I have known the songs for months now ;) Just wanting a general impression on the game itself compared to Ps2.

I'll hold off until I get my Sunday ads this Saturday and checkout the CC flyer. If that's true, I'll go for that and get 1600 MS points.
I placed my order yesterday through Family Video and it has been back ordered for 30 days. Looks like I will be scouting around next week to see if I can pick it up.

I have bought it twice now :? So....to obviously to me it is. I bought it for the ps2 when it fist came out having never played it and fell in love. I was quite frankly addicted. I sold my Ps2 along with GH2 a probably 3 or 4 months ago. I knew this was coming out so that made the decision easier as it was the only game I was playing on ps2.

I would say if you are really worried about it, go to a Best Buy and play it there. Spend some time with it though. I did this with the first game b4 2 came out and I totally sucked and got pissed and put it down. So give it a try or 2. I think if you like 75% of the songs you will love this game. Hell I don't like a few of the songs yet they are fun as hell to try and play and get 5 stars or 100%

I will post up some impressions of the 360 version after I eat

Hell yeah it is. After playing the original on PS2 I debated whether or not to pick up another PS2 solely for Guitar Hero. In the end I couldn't justify spending $150 for the PS2 plus $80 for Guitar Hero but I likely would have spent $150 total to play it. I've been waiting for this game to hit Xbox for a long time. I just ordered it off Circuit City's website for in-store pick up. It comes with 1600 MS points at CC (as mentioned) so it was a no-brainer.

The other day, I stopped by Circuit City and lo and behold they had a demo of the game, but for the PS2. For whatever reason, I just couldn't get in to it, nor I could get the hang of it. To top it off, after playing several 360 games, this game was UGLY. In addition the guitar was cheap looking. I was turned off and upset because I had such high expectations. Now granted, I only played for a bit, but without instructions I was lost.

Fast forward 10 minutes. A half mile down the road is Best Buy. I thought what the heck, I'll see if they have Guitar Hero 2 the 360. It was close to closing time on Sunday, so hardly no one was there. And there it was in all it's shiny glory. The first thing I noticed was how much prettier the graphics were. Everything just looked crystal clear and polished. I definitely liked the Explorer guitar better than the PS2 guitar, although I know others would vehemently disagree. I had no problems with the comfort. I rocked to some Van Halen song, and while I was absolutely awful, something clicked. I figured out how to use the wammy bar, and started memorizing the buttons.

I'm not completely sold just yet, but I did redo the song a handful of times, so I know there's a level of addiction with me and this game. Plus, knowing that the replay value will be through the roof because, A. I suck and B. the dowloadable songs off XBL, this game should be in my collection for eternity.

I'm so f*cking uncoordinated and have no rhythm. It is going to take a loooong time to get anywhere close to decent at this game, but it shoud be fun trying to get there.

I scored a copy last night at Walmart around midnight. I played until around 3 and I am up and strumming away today LOL :). I will give my initial impressions, as if it will really matter LOL

First and most important...the new X-plorer guitar. I like it. I have read mixed reviews of it. Its a little weird getting used to it though. I like to play setting down and the SG from the Ps2 always sat on my lap nicely. The X-plorer I have to hold a little differently BUT its working nice. The neck seems to be thinner. I sold my Ps2 and GH2 months ago so I don't have it here to compare to, but I like it better. The buttons, or frets, seem a little smaller but yet so NICE. They are easier to push. I haven't dove into Hard yet as I am a little rusty so it will be nice to see how the new buttons work out on the challenging songs.

The Graphics: Much improved over the Ps2. Nothing to write home about in 360 standards, but hey, did we come to watch a rock concert or play one??

The Sound: While I don't consider myself much of an audio freak, I do like my music to sound nice. This game does it well. It seems to be better then the Ps2 yet again. The DD5.1 seems to give a much truer sound. Before my receiver would tend to output most of the sound to all the speakers. Its kinds of wierd though. I get some crowd noise from my surrounds, but yet they (the crowd) are not behind me LOL. Its not a bad thing, but its not totally accurate either.........or is it?

The bottom line: If you know what Guitar Hero is all about then you probably are not even thinking twice about getting this as a 360 owner. The DLC that will hopefully be available soon and the leaderboards make it that much cooler. Oh and the achievements....well some of them are super easy but a few are going to be tough and is yet another reason to love the game. For those that are new to this or on the fence. You will be addicted with you first gig. If you are not, send me a PM. I will take your guitar off your hands for my GH parties

The game is Great so far and hasn't let me down in the least bit. The new songs are cool. I beat it on Medium and only need to go back and 5 star a few songs. I really am having fun with it! I can't wait until I get back into rock star shape as I am struggling some on Hard

Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer for you, but I am sure most anyone getting it will have it by tonight.

I wouldn't let you? Wrong.

Oh yeah...and Nice "EDIT" after you agreed to pay the 10 bucks to join the league: "Last edited by Zlax45 on Tue Apr 03, 2007 10:37 am; edited 1 time in total."

Dumbf*ck doesn't even realize it tells you EXACTLY when you edit the post. Well at least we know you are a piece of sh*t going forward...and you won't be invited again. I'm done ruining this thread now guys...carry on.

Well, if you're into having fun I'd say pick it up but if the thought of having fun makes you ill don't pick it up. :wink:

I just got back from Circuit City and I can now say that I own a Guitar Hero game. It's been a long wait but I can finally play Guitar Hero in the privacy of my own home. No more special stops at Best Buy, Fry's, or Microcenter to play a song or two. The rest of the work day is going to draaaaaaaaaaaaaaag.

No kidding. I stopped at Best Buy over lunch to get it and it's sitting in my car, calling to me like a Satanic backward track.

I also picked up a headphone extension cord, which should help save my marriage :D

My new bride picked up 2 copies for me this morning.. one for me and one for my friend who would not have time to get it all week. I thought CC would sell out due to their free points deal. Anyway, I have never played GH before so I am pretty excited. I have been waiting for the 360 version. I do dabble some playing a real guitar but I have no doubt that won't help me any... The way I play for real makes Biff Pocoroba look like an allstar.

Not a single copy anywhere around me, and I don't know why it bugs me so much. I've already ripped through the first versions on PS2, but 1080i and the Explorer guitar make it way too tempting for me.

For those that haven't picked it up yet, I heard about another deal on CAG. There are coupons at Circuit City for $15 off a $100 purchase. The coupons were at the register at my CC and can be used in store or online. Picked up GH2, the free 1600 point card, and another 1600 point card for $105.40.
