I don't think I've ever watched a game where they walked in a run to get to the pitcher, ever. The only time I've seen a bases loaded intentional walk was when Barry Bonds was up to bat.

Now, if the API pitched around that batter, I'm ok with that.. but walking in a run to get to the pitcher? If I was down 9-5 in the 5th or 6th inning and they walked in a run to get to my pitcher, I would DEFINITLY pinch hit for him. It's not like he was doing well to begin with.

Exactly. If you walk the 8th spot, and the manager pinch hits for his pitcher you not only walked in a runner but face a pinch hitter with the bases still loaded. I think in the 5th or 6th, a real manager would pinch hit. If this was the 2nd then maybe this would happen.

I'm really starting to get annoyed with the utter lack of info/media on the PS3 version. Sony claims its on schedule but that is about it. Put together a damn trailer or something.

So which is worse, the game for having the catcher suggest that strategy, or the gamer for listening to it? :)

In this case, I guess lucky for him listening to his catcher.

Finally started a season on the ps2 and there are definitly certain parts of this game that I really like.

1. Pitcher/Batter interface - it's so nice to see 8-11 pitch counts on one batter, especially with all the foul balls. The meter seems harder for me this year for some reason.

2. Hit variety - probably the best I've ever seen. I love going the opposite way but timing my swing perfectly.

3. Fielding - although there are some times when my SS or 2B should have at least fielded the ball, fielding is a lot of fun, but it's only enhanced due to the goofy and detached feeling MLB 2k7's fielding makes me feel.

4. Spring Training - it's a must in any console baseball game, imho. It allows me to get a feel for what roles most of my players will be in, allows me to practice hitting and pitching, and it allows me to see who's going to make the big club.

Dislikes - announcing is just plain boring, especially after playing last year's game so much. I'm sorry, the game looks poor now that I've played MLB 2k7. MLB 2k7 made me look at graphics in a whole new light, that's not The Show's fault... obviously.

Presentation is so boring. I hope it's the limit of the hardware, because it just doesn't make me involved that much into the game.

If MLB 2k7 played baseball like The Show, I think most of us would be set for quite some time. :)

I started playing "Road to the Show" and, man is that addictive. I made myself into a big slugging first baseman. Had a good spring but was sent to start at AAA. After a terrible start to the season with the Iowa Cubs, I decided to use my attribute points to work out in the gym to see if I could turn that warning track power into actual power, lol. It really paid off with my first homer and a double in the last series, raising my average to .273.

Check it out. Reminds me of the Superstar mode in Madden, but much more playable.

Looks exactly the same as it does on the PS2. Plays fine.

The way things are looking with the release date getting pushed back, the PS2 version may be my only option to play The Show 07!

I just hope it doesn't get "delayed" until next spring. I really like the PS2 version but have been anxious to get my hands on a good next gen baseball game. I'm not a fan of 2K7. Its a pretty game but falls short elsewhere.

I've been playing the PSP version of '07 for a few days and I'm very impressed. Slowdown is definitely present but either it varies from stadium to stadium or I've gotten used to it, and am 'noticing' it less and less. I like the improvements they've made at the plate (a bit harder to hit, more spin on the ball, better hit and foul variety) and especially in the field, where I finally feel like I can charge a ball and dictate the pace of my throws, not to mention my outfielders now put a glove on everything I ask them to without letting it roll to the wall first.

The game is really good! Don't even have to touch the sliders if I don't want to!

This is definitly my "away from ootp" baseball game this year for sure. Love it. I'm waiting on the OD rosters and then default AS has been playing quite well for me.

I'm 43 games into my season and still haven't touched the sliders at all (PS2 version, All-Star level, default sliders). There's probably a few minor tweaks I could make, but it's playing so well for me right now I don't want to risk messing up nice balance I'm getting.

Usually when I get a baseball game and start a season I wind up starting over after a while because I either have to switch to a differrent difficulty level or make major slider adjustments. So far this year I'm still working on the season I started the first night I bought the game.

Yes everything is so well balanced. I was using Pared's sliders from OS, and just when I thought the offense was too weak, I scored 30 runs in my last 3 games.

Can't say enough good things about the job they did with this year's version.

That's the same thing that's been happening with me, which is why I haven't touched my sliders. Just when I think I'm not scoring enough and should start tweaking sliders, I'll start scoring runs in bunches for a few games. Or just when I start thinking my pitching is too dominant, I'll get lit up a few games in a row. Or little things like just when I start thinking I'm not getting enough doubles, I'll get 5 in one game.

The variety in games from one game to the next is so great that I think you have to take a really large sample of games before you start adjusting the sliders, if you need to at all.

I've been loving it!!!

Hey lexbur, do you use guess pitch? That's about the only think I'm not sure I want to use or not.

Just sharin' the love for the PSP version. I was annoyed initially by the slowdown but either I've gotten used to it or it's gotten better. The additions to hit variety, animations, edit mode and the like more than make up for any lingering problems.

I absolutely love the way that you need to charge slow rollers to the infield. I can't remember any other game doing it that well.

I was scoring runs by the bunches with guess pitch on (with notification). I've since switched it so that guess pitch is still on but I don't receive any notification if I've guessed right or not. I love it this way because it does not feel like a videogame tool anymore but instead more like real baseball. The reward is greater if you guess correctly and get solid wood on it and the penalty for guessing wrong is less. I'm not sure if the ability to guess pitch without notification is new for 07 since I always used it with notification for 06 but it is a brilliant feature in my opinion.

Huh? How do you know if it even works? They could just pop up a thing on the screen that says you guessed and only the programmers know if it actually does something positive/negative. Nice feature.

I started up RTTS as a second baseman and I cannot see where ground balls are going for the life of me when I'm in the field.
