Thanks for the games Macsom.

I should be on sometime around mid-day today if anyone's looking for a game.

Let's actually finish this season out. I'm having a lot of fun in some very intense games and would like to see a season actually get completed.

Thanks

Sorry I wasn't on last night, wife had the TV, plus I had to get up early today. I have a buddy coming over tonight, but maybe late tonight after he leaves I can get in a game if I see someone online.

Looks like Sport73's Orioles and JackB1's Braves managed to play one last night. Smoltz gave up three homers. Final score was Orioles 3-2 over the Braves which means that Sport73 goes 4-1 overall while JackB1 slips to 1-3.

Here are our leagues team stats so far.

The Orioles just have to hope that our bats don't go cold on us. We've hit a few HR's, and I suspect the leagues' pitchers will be aiming to shut us down. It's all about the long ball; we don't play 'smart' baseball.

I'll be around a little later if anyone's up for a game.

I see that the Mets are listed as no owner. If you need an owner I am willing to take the Mets.

Break up the Orioles!

Baltimore defeats Pittsburgh 2-1 on a two out homerun by Aubrey Huff in the bottom of 9th to improve their record to 5-1. After giving up a run in the bottom of the 6th inning Pittsburgh scored their only run of the game in the top of the 7th with the bases loaded when Jason Bay was hit by a pitch with 2 outs. No further damage was done as Xavier Nady struck out to end the Pirates threat.

Very, very good game Sport.

Does anyone know if someone can join while a season is in progress after someone has dropped from the league? If you can join up either through the site or from your console please do, this league has been great fun so far, lots of really good games.

The Orioles bats did finally run dry, at least until Huff's extra-inning heroics. We suffered from WTP (Warning Track Power) all game, and were owned by excellent Pirate pitching. Nothing is worse than walking in a run, which should've been the end of us. Somehow, we got the 3rd out and pushed on into the extra innings.

Huff caught one low and inside and managed to push it slightly toward Right/Center. Barely had enough to get over the wall, but it did creep over and give the Orioles a HUGE walk-off win.

Looking forward to more games. Great fun so far.

Yeah, we play these games in any order so you can pick up the mets and see what you can do with 'em. Watch out for the Orioles:)

It will not allow me to join from the join league, as it is technically not an open league anymore. Whoever has admin control of the league I believe has to invite me directly to take over.

As soon as someone gets the invite opened up I can start playing.

Ok, I'm in now. Going to add those that I don't already have on my friends list. I should be around plenty after Friday, as they closed my plant today, and as of Friday when I leave I am on the job hunt. I might take a couple weeks off and just do nothing, but that'll depend if the leads
I have are good or if they fizzle out.

Just finished up two games versus our newest member Rusted. Both were excellent games that were fair, fun and pretty close.

I'm still here. I've tried to play a couple of games, but it didn't work out, but I still want to be in the league. I'll admit that I've been playing too much World of Warcraft lately, but I won't have a problem playing league games. If anyone wants to play me, just post here. I'm usually available any week night after 11 PM eastern.

Good game last night Vader. Nice to pick up a win for a change.

Guys......
Any comments on any slider changes needed?
Does anyone think hitting is too hard? Pitching
speed is at 75 at this time. You want it to where
a 95 mph will blow you away if you aren't ready for
it, but we also dont want guys striking out more than
10 times in a 7 inning game. Do you guys think there
is enough offense at this point? We can tweak it a little
at a time if need be.

In looking at the stats, the ERA's do look a little low and the team batting averages look low also, so we may need a little adjustment. I could change pitch speeds from 75 to 70.....add +5 to contact and lower
the pitching difficulty slider a bit. What do u guys think?

I think that makes sense, as online it has been tough to get baserunners home; it's difficult to string together a group of hits. I like the "fundamental baseball" play of the sliders as they are the ones I use offline for the most part, but online they have proven to be much tougher than offline. I suppose because it's not taking tweaks to the AI sliders into account when you are playing a human.

I was finally able to play a league game last night, and Vader beat me to it! Oh well, I got to go back and finish my season game, a 11-10 extra inning victory by my O's over the White Sox. 9 home runs in the game, it was certainly not a pitchers duel! Thome was kicking the snot out of me, even with 2 intentional walks. A fun game and very tense, especially when my closer gave up 4 runs in the top of the 9th to get the game all tied up.

Again.....sorry about that! I should be available tonite, if u want to try again. I think the reason you have to make the online sliders a little more
"hitter friendly" is because of the extra lag involved. You have to decide a little quicker if you are going to swing online than offline and also "human" pitchers are smarter than AI ones. I think I will tweak the sliders just a bit in favor of offense and see what it produces, if everyone doesnt mind. You won't notice a huge change at all.

Yes, Hitting should be easier, as should Home Runs...;-)

Well, we can't all play as the Orioles :D
You seem to be the only one who isn't struggling
at the plate. What's the secret? :D
