Hands-on impressions here;

The player card/sticker mode is actually kinda neat.

8 player online multiplayer – haven’t tried yet as there aren’t a lot of people online right now.
Does that mean two 360s with 4-players each connected online or can eight different consoles connect to play an online game?

Dunno. It just says 'online multiplayer 1-8' on the back of the box. I'll try online later tonight and let you know.

Those that haven't downloaded the demo yet really should give it a try. I'd like to try the game on a different difficulty but the basic gameplay was good. The player interaction with the ball jumps out at you right away.

I've played the demo a few times, and besides the odd camera movement, I am also frustrated with the low framerate. This isn't slowdown, like you see in WE, where everything moves slowly and enters a slow-motion, time dilation type deal, but just a very choppy framerate at full-speed and all the time, and it really jumps out at me when compared to the smoothness of the animations in WE. Also, the ball physics do seem to be pretty good, but I'm not buying the line that the player/ball interaction is as good as or better than that of WE. I've seen quite a few odd interactions that made me wonder, but with no replay in the demo, it's impossible for me to check with a closer view and in slow-mo to see if it just looked weird or truly was weird. They are certainly improving and getting closer to WE, but I don't think it's there yet, and I'm just not interested in paying $60 for what I deem to be an inferior game.

If it truly allows multi-360 multiplayer, however, I think I will have to buy it, and never stop trying to bully people here into playing games of 2 on 2!

The playing card thing really looks pretty, though, it must be said.

It's what Fifa 07 should have been more than anyhing else. The pace of the game has somewhat slowed down in UEFA allowing you make three to four passes without getting shoulder bumped all the time, in other words the CPU player is not in yor face anymore thank goodness.

Also, when you pass the ball now, it doens't necessarily go to the nearest player so when you press the A button firmer, the ball will go the further positioned player, as the pass AI has been toned down without always getting intercepted.

There seems to be a slight delay though when you try to change the player that you want to control.

Your top guns still make a difference in play and are gamebreakers in a tight game.

The camera angle is a bit odd and I found myself lowering the zoom option.

Overall, I still think the AI is weak as in Fifa 07, your players not always follow your play and they move awkwardly.

Ball physics was already much improved in 07 and when you shoot the ball it seems that there's a bit more oomph towards the net.

Now is it worth another $60 bucks? We'll see how many are interested in this game, because apparently it plays a fine online game.

As for live options.

There is an option to play Co-op multiplayer on Live. I've not done it yet but it is a game mode option for sure. I created a match and then it opened my friends list to send an invite.

This feature alone may sell a few copies of the game. Prior to live my friends and I enjoyed playing co-op more than head to head.

I was also pleasantly surprised to find some unexpected teams in the game.. like my beloved Wolfsburg.

Speaking of multiplayer, despite the subtle game-engine changes the game still plays the same way in multiplayer - simple, breakaway-relay football. It's very tactically naive. Much rather play Winning Eleven.

If you already have FIFA 07 I don't think it's worth $60 (or $70+ here in Canada).

Update on the Co-op multiplayet xbox live game mode.

it does not appear to allow multiple consoles to play on the same team. I'm not sure what seperates a normal session match from a co-op multiplayer mode.

Sounds like two per console.

Not surprising from EA.

Next-gen online should push for this kind of thing, finding 3 other players online, playing a 2 vs. 2 (or even 1 vs. 3) multiconsole/multiplayer game.

Although, the idea that you could watch an online game (involving two other consoles) makes it sound like a multiconsole setup.

RTS games on the PC let up to 8 players join a game from 8 different PCs. This was about 10 years ago.

I know this is the 360 version, but since I don't have a 360, I'll give my 2 cents on the ps2 version, which I'm enjoying immensely. I think EA have finally caught up with WE in that with this version, the difference between their engine and Konami's is really only a matter of gamer preference. Before I used to think that there was really something lacking in a FIFA lover's worldview that they liked that game over WE; perhaps a lack of knowledge of soccer, a devout fanboyism born when FIFA first showed up on the SNES and was the only game in town, or perhaps even having been victim of a frontal lobotomy. No longer. UEFA plays as good a game as WE, it just focuses on different things. IMO, I actually feel like I have more control over the shooting parameters in UEFA vs. in WE. WE gives you control over the position of your player when you shoot, UEFA does that AND I feel like I can place my shots better. UEFA feels more substantial, more chunky, more meaty. Not better, mind you, but different. I still like WE a little more, probably, but UEFA's a close second, and I won't think less of anyone who likes it over WE anymore.

I am enjoying the 360 version much better than the WE 360 version. The game is damn fun.

Can't wait for this to come from Gamefly. I already sold WE360 and loved the demo of EUFA. I will still play WE2007 or PES6 on the PC for my "Konami" fix....but I agree that EA is inching closer to Konami in the Footie Bowl. I really though that WE07-360 would have really stepped it up, but the series went backwards IMO. The game is just frustrating to me to control the players and I think the graphics are looking terribly dated for where they should be by now.

really having fun with this one. the animations are very lifelike. the AI plays a pretty good game so far.

what camera and settings are you guys using? the tele camera is a bit too far away for me. the other cameras all look alike. I think I am on Dynamic at the moment.

Can you attempt a header off a cross or corner when you want to in this iteration of EA futbol?

Yes, headers are possible in this version. However, if playing against the AI, you will rarely see them head the ball.
