Seen as there seems to be some people (jsut a few:)) that like racing on here. OS has a quick story about Stewart being announced for the cover of Nascar 08. I'll be picking this one up for the 360 when it's released.

I sincerely hope that this is a quality title, but I have strong doubts considering EA has been out to lunch with its NASCAR line for now going on over two years. This is doubly sad since the superior NASCAR title is now four years old. Even the current NASCAR drivers drop subtle hints that NASCAR 2003 is their sim of choice.
Four years ago, we had a thriving online and mod community for NASCAR PC gaming. Now it is almost dead especially since it is virtually impossible to pick up the game thereby eliminating any new blood joining in (our recent DSP racing not withstanding). Thank you EA!

Not so fast, my friend! It's easy to get NASCAR RAcing 2003 Season via "alternative" methods. Anyone interested, PM me.johnvon314 wrote:Four years ago, we had a thriving online and mod community for NASCAR PC gaming. But like you, John, I have little hope for an EA NASCAR game, especially for a console. Plus, not to sound snobbish, but I can't imagine it even being in the same racetrack as NR 2003 and its mods. That great game has spoiled me!
Take care,
PK

NR2003 is a great simulation of stock car racing, no question. I think it is clear that EA's Nascar games are targeted at a more casual audience, so it is probably not realistic to expect EA to create a game that matches the depth and realism of NR2003.
That said, I think EA has done a good job of improving their console Nascar games (Nascar 06 aside) over the past few years. If you aren't looking for a hardcore sim experience, they are actually quite a bit of fun IMO.
I have high hopes for Nascar 08 on the 360, if the FF wheel support is solid and the driving is 'realistic enough', I think it could be a lot of fun. Apparently they are also bumping up the number of online players to 16, which is a nice improvement. Yes, I know Papy's games have supported 43 online players for years now.

Good point, B. NASCAR 2005 was a really fun game even if it wasn't a sim. Total Team Control was a big step backward for NASCAR 2006.
Take care,
