Monaco Shuts Out Tottenham At Home
AS Monaco FC 2 : 0 Tottenham Hotspur FC
Monaco got back on the winning side earning their third win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur thanks to two goals from Jan Koller. Koller scored just as first half stoppage time was coming to an end, but it was Marco DiVaio who did all the work by winning a tustle with Edgar Davids for the ball near the corner flag in Tottenham's end. The Italian turned towards the box along the end line and drew the defense to him before laying it off to the big man who had an easy tap from 7 yds out.
Early in the second half, Koller secured his brace in the 54th mintue by taking advantage of a turnover near the top of the box. Sprung free to go one on one with the keeper, the big man took one touch and slotted the ball into the side netting. Despite a barrage of chances from the English side as the second half wore on, Tottenham was unable to break through a Monaco defense that was ably organizd by Roma. The Italian keeper also made key saves when called upon to earn the shut out and keep the threat of a draw at bay.

Great game, Cloud. After you put up 4 in the first game, I was just hoping to keep the score low. I got lucky to get the chances for both goals, but the big man was feeling good and was able to finish. Good luck the rest of the way, and see you next season!

Chippy game tonight. Yellow cards and injuries through out the night. Ljundberg got things started on a rebound to give Arsenal a 1-0 lead. Kewell launched a laser that just missed the far upper 90 early in the second half. Henry provided the cushion that the Arsenal manager wanted with a goal in the 73rd minute giving Arsenal a 2-0 victory.
Great game Scoop. Good luck the rest of the way.

Terry and I had a late night match and it was worth staying up for. Adriano gave Inter a 1-0 1st half lead. In the first half, Arsenal sent many shots that were just wide and Inter went into the lockerroom with the lead. Early in the second half, things were looking very bad for the visiting team when Ibrahimovic received a beautiful through ball from Adriano to make it 2-0.
However, Henry got Arsenal on the board to cut the Inter lead to 2-1. Seven minutes later, Adebayor knocked in a rebound to tie it up. You just got the feeling that the team wiht the ball last was going to when it. Both teams had chances but the game ended with a well-deserved 2-2 draw.

Roma and Arsenal played in a card filled game. Arsenal got on the board after a sluggish start right before the half when Ljundberg continued his goal scoring. Silva added another 10 minutes after halftime to put Arsenal up 2-0. Adebayor made it 3-0 but Roma quickly answered with a beautiful diving header from Vucinic. Adebayor got his second with 15 minutes remaining and was able to finish the hat-trick in the 81st minute. Arsenal finished with a 5-1 victory.

Arsenal closed out Season 8 against the eventual Division 4 champions, West Ham. Arsenal came out playing a very defensive game and it paid off until the 40' minute when a cross came backpost and Benayoun headed the ball a foot from the goal line off the crossbar and in. C Cole added the clincher in the 53' minute to seal the West Ham victory.

GG Macca. At least it was more competitive than last time. I'll take what I can get!
Milan finished out my first season at the helm with a distinctly average 3 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws.
The final game against Skyboxer's AS Roma ended with a 5-1 victory. Adriano put one in early, just past the 8' mark. Ibrahimovic followed up 4 minutes later to put Inter up 2-0. Figo gathered up a rebound and dropped another in just before halftime (43') to put Inter up 3-0 at the intermission.
The second half wasn't quite as chaotic, with Roma penetrating deep and missing a centering pass from the wing. It overshot everybody but stopped dead just before the out of bounds, allowing a twisting, turning cross that got knocked backwards by Perrotta and up into the crossbar, bouncing up and over the goalie for Roma's first score of the game (75'). Milan quickly struck back with the Ibrahimovic/Adriano tandem again, with goals at the 80' and 83' marks to end it at 5-1 Milan.
On a side note, Roma's players went apesh*t, gathering up 4 yellows and a red in the game...

I'm not sure how they track the yellows/reds, since Martinez got tagged with 2 yellows and it showed as a red. Does it count all 3, or just the red? I just recorded what the stats showed...
