Canucks face the Blues tonight and B. Guerin is not at practice with the team. He's probably going to get a similar robbery deal that Tkachuk got from ATL.

By the way PK, Laraque is officially a Penguin now. S. Crosby is a much happier dude.

I'm not sure. First, he can be a real pain in the ass in the room. Second, he's not very good anymore. Take care, PK
Can't figure what Barnett is trying to do. JR is as good as gone, whether he's traded or retires at the end of the season, and now PHO gets rid of Laraque. I questioned PHO's moves in the beginning of the season, we know which direction they are going now.

I'll bet Detroit. Let's see what happens!

TSN is reporting Guerin to San Jose.

Ooooo -- the Sharks just made a big move in the West! This could tip Brian Burke's hand in Anaheim to start dealing.

Damn, these last three hours will be fun!

Most likely the Ducks, Sharks, or Wings. The Wings have been mentioned all along but I was thinking they would probably bow out after landing Calder last night. The fact that Bryan Murray hasn't done anything yet makes me think he might be going to Anaheim.

Guerin for just a first-rounder and TBA future picks? Seems like a small price.

Definite rental, maybe heading back to St. Louis in the offseason?

It's funny seeing the players after practice glued to the lockerooms' TV as the general audience, watching TSN and biting their nails as to who may get traded next.

Very possible, although depending how well they do in the playoffs, he may choose to stay in SJ as he's played with J. Thornton in their days in BOS.

Scary power play:

Cheechoo skating into shooting lanes, Thornton working the corners to make a great pass or skating with the puck to the half-boards to make the pass, Guerin waiting in front of the net for Thornton passes, screens or to stuff in the trash.

Yowza.

Take care,
PK

Another acquisition by PHO this year that they are trying to shop around is O. Nolan. The veteran may get some interest from ANA and CAL.

The next big name I expect to change address is Todd Bertuzzi. Detroit is interested and based on what SJ just did, never count B. Burke out.

The Oil is trying to shop Torres, Sportsnet reported. Ottawa was interested but didn't want to ship a puck-moving defenseman.

I'd expect the Sabres to be interested in a Torres-type player, I think Edmonton is their most likely trade partner. We'll see.

Regier will be lynched if he doesn't do anything else.

I think that is pretty great news, if Biron signs a long term deal. The Flyers are clearly not resigning Esche, and Niittymaki has had a weird season. I know he's been playing with a hip problem, but that doesn't explain all his misadventures with his glove hand.

With the playoffs in danger for NYR, Sather wants to do a similar deal that Philly got for Forsberg. Picks and young players.
Apparently there's a war in the room between Aaron Ward and Jagr, from what I've read. Says a lot about what the Rangers think of Jagr that in a pissing match between Jagr and Ward, Jagr moves.

Take care,
PK
Ward to Boston for Paul Mara in a D-for-D swap. Jagr wins that dressing room battle.

Big Bert to DET. A bit of a risk after back surgery but the West is surely loading them up.

With Bertuzzi, Tkachuk and Guerin dealt, what big names are left to move? Jagr is staying in N.Y. since the Rangers moved Ward to Boston.

Unless Edmonton moves Smyth (God NO), there aren't too many heavies left to move. Puck-moving defensemen still are at a premium for a lot of teams, including the Oil. You may see some of them move in the last 30 minutes.

Sabres get Zubrus for Novotny and a first.

I dunno, I think the Sabres needed more grit, not more offense. I trust Darcy however.
