Here is a blast from the past. I have Tony Badger's original Tune File Tutorial for High Heat 2000 that I printed out "back in the day." I just scanned page 1 for you guys. Yes I am a dork. Tony gave me some props for the input I gave on setting custom cameras (X, Y, Z). When I saw Charlie Centrelli's name on there I almost fell out of my chair. Check out the date. 8)

Charlie Centrelli, there's a name I haven't heard in a while. Played in an Action PC football league with him back in the day.

Did I miss him, or is World Series MVP David Eckstein not even included in the top 15? To think that Jocketty's getting him and Kennedy for less than Renteria...genius.

Yeah, doesn't make any sense to me. How he's not in the top 15 is beyond me.

You guys are making me all misty eyed. I was "BrewsterMellows" over at The Clubhouse.

My first High Heat experience was playing the Yanks/Padres demo. It hooked me. I played that game nonstop through college, and posted at the Clubhouse nonstop. It was a great community, and it's nice to see so many members land here. I posted about Tune Files over at OS a couple days ago. If we could tweak those variables in 1999, I don't know why we can't tweak them now.

Wonder where all the Team .366ers are now.

You know, one of the big improvements of the games like The Show and MLB 2K over High Heat are the much improved presentation.

But one (of many) annoying features of MLB 2K6 was that the presentation really slowed the game down. I hope that you can get in a quick game and click past the stuff that happens between pitches. Sometimes you get caught up in the strategy of the moment and you spend 15 minutes trying to get out of an inning without giving up that tying run, but other times you just want to throw the damn pitch or hit the damn ball without endless cutscenes or shots of the batter adjusting his batting glove. Any word on this aspect of the game?

Even with in-game saves, there are times you just want to play a quick game. One of the thing that loses me with baseball games are when it takes so long to play a game that the thought of playing even half or a third of a full season is just too daunting.

From the OS boards...

just for everyones amusement there is a thread over at 2k's forum where some guy (low poster, no less) says that the demo is supposed to be released today after 6 pm eastern time. i know its just speculation and internet hype, but just puttin' it out there for those that want to know...

Take it for what it's worth. There are people that get amusement out of lying about these things on the internet.

That was one good thing about HH. You could complete a 9 inning game within 20-30 minutes. Last year, the show wasn't that bad when you put it on Fast mode, but you lose all the presentation.

Does it concern anyone else from watching the videos that the infield camera switches to show the play at first on a ground ball? For some reason, this annoys me to no end. Does anyone know if that particular camera angle (cut scene :x ) can be turned off?

Thanks.

Fake or not, my ass will be checking XBL Marketplace at 6 :)

The games comes out in less than a week so it makes sense to release it today/tomorrow. And yes, I am trying to talk myself into believing it will be out tonight 8)

Me too but I won't lose any sleep if it is StL and Det. Keep in mind that Ben Brinkman (producer of the game) stated in an interview that the demo is not just your typical 3 inning pop in and pop out exhibition. Not sure what that means but it sounds interesting.

I'll certainly snag the demo.

The only game killer for me last year was the atrocious fielding (which an auto-fielding option would have cured no doubt, and I always use auto-fielding when available). If they just fix that I'll be happy.

I thought the interaction between the catcher and pitcher was very cool, the scouting reports were nice, I think it has the best running-game in video game baseball, and I enjoyed the World Basebell Classic being in there. But the fielding was so bad I returned it within a month.

And yes, I'll be checking at 6PM also!

2k6 didn't have auto fielding? Yikes. I always use auto fielding. My reflexes just aren't good enough. I want a great fielder to make great plays, not screw things up because i can't make a diving catch fast enough.
