Re: Monaco Loses Opener to Livorno, Then Beats PSG
Division 4 play kicked off this evening with Arsenal hosting Inter. The play started off slow as the teams looked to be in pre-season form. The game needed a goal badly. That goal came in the 31st minute with Fabregas connected with a header.
The game picked up in the second half and looked to be over when Henry netted 2 goals only 5 minutes apart. However, that comfort margin lasted less than a minute when Adriano cruised down the field and blistered one past Lehman to get Inter on the board. Four minutes later, Adriano brought Inter within one. The relentless attack from Inter continued but Lehman came up with several key saves and a head sailed just wide to keep Inter at 2.
Henry gave Arsenal the breathing room that there manager was hoping for in stoppage time to gain the 4-2 victory.

I'm not exactly sure. Once you know what the one you want is called, let me know.Leebo33 wrote:Is Santiago Bernabeu the one with the blue seats? If so, I'll just use that one Zeppo.
Unfortunately, it's not in the game. There are only 8 stadiums in the game, and Highbury ain't one of them. I'm pretty sure it's been torn down by now in real life, as well.XXXIV wrote:Do I need to pick a stadium?...Ill take Highbury?...or is that not possible?

Bayern Munich had a rude welcome to D2, falling to Sporting Lisbon 2-1.
Lisbon dominated possession throughout, though the score remained tight until the final moments.
Paredes started the scoring in 22nd minute, when noticing a conservative defense, he stepped up and ripped a shot into the upper corner from 25 yards.
With Lisbon creating all kinds of chances but not finishing, Bayern drew one back just before the half. Makaay was put behind the defense, and he confidently finished to tie the score 1-1.
The second half went much like the first, with Sporting coming close on numerous occasions. Bueno came on as a substitute for his first appearance of the year and almost played the hero, only to see his shot come off the post.
In the end however, Lisbon's persistence paid off as Liedson found a winner 3 minutes from time.

Man of the Match: Tevez
West Ham United started their Division 4 League campaign with a solid 4-0 win over AS Roma at a rain-swept Santiago Bernebeu this afternoon. AS Roma began the match defensively with the central defensive pairing of Mexes & Chivu controlling much of the play.
West Ham recieved their breakthrough in the 36' minute when a throughball from Dean Ashton (preferred to Marlon Harewood) allowed fellow striking partner Carlos Tevez to break Roma's offside trap. Roma keeper Doni was able to get a hand to Tevez' powerful shot but was unable to keep it out of the net.
Doni was unlucky again, this time just before the half as another Tevez shot following a centre from captain Nigel Reo-Coker) slipped through his fingers.
Doni's misfortune continued in the second half as he dove to make a stunning one-handed save from another Tevez shot, only for the rebound to arrive at the feet of a thankful Lee Bower for the easy tap-in.
This third goal seemed to spark Roma to life with winger Allessandro Mancini giving West Ham right-back John Pantsil a torrid time down the left wing.
Unfortunately, for Roma any chances of a comeback were dashed when West Ham scored their fourth with only ten minutes remaining. This time Tevez turned provider, drawing two Roma defenders and keeper Doni before centering to Ashton for a one-timer.
The final score-line was perhaps a bit flattering to West Ham the damp conditions did little to help Roma keeper Doni.
AS Roma boss Skyboxer, first time in charge of a Serie A side, while not pleased with the final score was happy with his team's effort and stated that this was only the first match of a long season.
West Ham manager Macca stated that he will continue with his first-choice striking partnership of Tevez & Ashton but that Yossi Benayoun may or may not be retained as an attacking midfielder following his lacklustre individual performance.

In the third game of the first half, Athletico Madrid came away with a shocking 3-0 win against a Bayren Munich club. Petrov was the man for AM today, scoring 2 goals & assisting on the third.. His first goal came on a breakaway from the defense, which Coach Bubbaball questioned the officals about no offiside call.. AM almost scored another goal late in the second half when a shot hit right off the post & straight across the goal mouth.. Coach Nyisles was impressed with the way his team rebounded after a drubbing the last match.
