But had a great time and with laike 6 trips to the pits for flags and fuel how the hell did i come in 12th.
The AI were too agressive more than anything. I don't know that they were too fast, but they wouldn't think anything of bump drafting you, or pushing you up the banking when going 3-wide. I got spun out 2 or 3 times like that. The first one was on lap 2 or 3 I believe, then my race was toast. I lost 3 tires in the spin and had to get towed, putting me a couple of laps down. I tried to stay out of everyone's way but ended up punting Terry really bad during a caution after my tire had just blown and I didn't take that into consideration when slowing down.

I look forward to racing again though, that brought back some good memories of this game, although I much prefer anything but superspeedways to race on.

I won't be free tonight though, and next weekend I'm headed to Vegas. I'll keep an eye out for future threads for race dates.

In the meantime, it would be cool if all of the regulars had custom paintjobs and we could make a zip file of them.

Jimmy, you're in the Viagra car? Yours was plain green on my game...I think Jon was in the Stacker car and that's the only paintscheme I could see. What gives?

If Terry's embarrassed, I don't quite know what my four spins entering turn one at Richmond (one of which, sadly, happened the instant someone else brought the yellows out and so counts as spinning under caution...) should make me. Other than that, and me having to check up and lose the draft on lap one at Daytona, I think I might just about have got away with last night.

Seriously good fun - my job and my fondness for US sports allow me to keep the kind of hours that will let me race fairly often, so I hope to be in whenever we next race, including tonight if there's a sudden surge of interest.

Although I couldn't get my wheel unpacked and installed in time to race last night, dusting off NR2003 got me itching to go back sim racing again. I'm having to fight the urge to buy a new wheel and PC so I can spend countless hours tweaking setups and trying not to get wrecked. :)

Yeh i was but maybe that is what jon is on about cos Terrys car was like a plain gray green can you clarify Jon ? All i know is that was the car i selected when i set up my player info and thought we were all running the same version but maybe terrys game has a different seaon on it with different skins.

Great to have you last night Adam, ive been thinking of maybe joining the GPL nutters if you dont have a team mate maybe we could do an all Brit side

If you want to use custom cars, at least yourself and the host has to have the car. If you want everybody to see them, then we all need to have the car files. Brad was mentioning earlier that we should all post our car files or something, and it makes sense if you're going to run customs (as almost everybody does).

I just noticed that there is an option to chose your car for multiplayer also , i never did that . Does that mean those default skins would show up or is it gonna do the same thing?

When I ran in a regular league for this game, I had a custom painted skin that I did for myself, but for the life of me I can't find it (I had a St. Louis sports themed car... a big Blues note on the hood, Cards on the roof, and Rams on the side).

Last weekend I just picked the Stacker car, which I knew everyone would have (you just have to make sure you select your car's skin for "multiplayer" instead of single player).

I downloaded a b*tchin' Tim Horton's Cup car today. For those who don't know, Timmy Ho-Ho's is the premier donut-coffee chain in Canada, founded by late Maple Leafs-Sabres defenseman Tim Horton.

Timmy Ho-Ho's makes a fine donut and an even finer cup of joe. Wish they'd come to Central New York.

Damn good-looking car, too!

Take care,
PK
