I'm not very good at this game. How did I get moved up from the bottom league to the top league and out of receiving a top tier team?

I'll pass on Benfica.

You're not in the top league, and the team is part of the Top Tier of teams. You are free to reject that team if you want a different one among those remaining in the Top Tier of teams and be in the second round draw.

As to the divisional breakdown, since you were a participant in previous seasons of the league, you were part of that group out of which 4 were randomly chosen to fill out the 2nd Division (the DSPenultimate). If you would like to abdicate that spot, I will perform another set of random selections to decide which of the four other players who have been in the league in the past will take that spot, and you will be placed in Division 3.

OK, it's been minutes since we're all accounted for. Where's the second draw?? :)

2nd Round Random Draw

Post by Zeppo »

Here's the result of the 2nd round of the random team draw:
  • Top Tier

    fanatic (crucialmike00) = S.L. Benfica

    bubbaball (bphilipb) = F.C. Bayern München

    dave2eleven = Olympique Lyonnais

    SkyboxerOS = A.S. Roma

    snatex = Juventus F.C.

    Second Tier

    StCloud = Real Zaragoza

    Sully OS = A.F.C. Fiorentina

    Slumberland = A.S. Livorno

    RobVarak = Levante U.D.
If you want to reject your team, remember that the third round of the draw is final, and you will be stuck with whatever team you get for this season.

Take your time, mess around tonight, and let me know by tomorrow afternoon if you want to go in for the third round of the draw.

What the F--- is Levante AD? Sounds like a new medication:

Things I've learned in the last hour:

Levante UD doesn't totally suck. They have no bench whatsoever, but a fair amount of attacking prowess.

Average player age is approximately 81 years.

They lead La Liga in having guys that you were pretty sure were good 10 years ago.

They are the older but lesser known and less successful club from Valencia...sort of Everton to Valencia's Liverpool.

They were promoted last season and are hovering just above the relegation level this season.

I'm passing on them. Serve me up something good, Zep!

I'll give Livorno a spin when I get home. I've got a bad feeling, though.

Wanna get an easy XBOX Live acheivment?..Take Brazil and play the Americas Cup. Ronaldhinio, Ronaldo ,Adriano, Kafu and the rest equal some pretty easy points.

Worst part of this whole thing is my overall soccer ignorance. Never watched it, never played it, never cared about it. For some reason, I just grabbed WE and I've been absolutely floored. But how dumb am I?

I had to ask people on IM "Is Inter Milan any good? Worth keeping?"

I sh*t you not...

Terry, we all have to start somewhere, and as Americans we are burdened with an inherent igonorance about the World's game. Don't feel bad, just enjoy the journey. And the video game! And maybe the next time the US Nats play in SD, you will rally out to see them play live and in person, if only to try to get a little better at the video game.

I think I am going to stick with Livorno. I like the colors, I'm intrigued by their weird politically charged rivalry with more "right-wing" teams (Di Canio giving a fascist salute during a match against Livorno... WTF?), I'm going to be in Tuscany this summer, and I enjoyed playing with Lucarelli and Bakayoko when I gave them a spin. I was hoping to go Italian this time anyway... and they're licensed! So I'm in with Livorno.

Since I'm not sure who else is available if I don't take them, I'll stick with Olympic Mayonnaise. They definitely seem a tick weaker than the uber-powerhouse squads, so at least I can fall back on an excuse when I am continually beat 4-1.

I can't check my XBOX right now, can someone tell me whether Juventus still has all their good players in this game? Cannavaro, Viera, Zambrotta, Ibrahimovic, etc.

All the players you mentioned appear to be gone. They do still have Buffon, Camoranesi, Nedved, Zanetti, Del Piero and Trezeguet though.
