I was a bit underwhelmed when I fired it up... found the shooting a bit simplistic and the melee very limited. But when I finally had some time to play through the demo completely and level up a bunch, HOLY SH*TBAGS. Shooting weapons out of people's hands, kicking them off rooftops, throwing flaming cars, chain-reaction explosions in the street, vertical exploration, all that super-jumping, I love it. Can't wait for this one.

Def Jam Icon demo supposedly will be available on Thursday.
Also, according to Kotaku here's a list of the next 10 XBLA games to be released (in alphabetic order):
· "3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures," from developer Wanako Games and publisher Sierra Online, allows gamers to putt their way through 36 fun-filled holes of manic minigolf action on wild courses that range from the Old West to outer space and feature a bevy of crazy hazards and obstacles.
· "Alien Hominid HD" from The Behemoth features side-scrolling, hysterical cartoon action with a quirky twist and exclusive Xbox Live Arcade features.
· "Band of Bugs" from NinjaBee is a fast-paced tactical strategy game that offers gameplay deep enough to satisfy tactical genre fans and friendly enough to appeal to casual gamers. Creative gamers can even design their own levels with the built-in level editor, then play them solo or over Xbox Live with friends.*
· "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" from Konami is a faithful version of this legendary classic updated for Xbox Live Arcade and featuring the game's full soundtrack and memorable side-scrolling vampire-hunting action.
· "Catan," from developer Big Huge Games Inc. and publisher Microsoft® Game Studios, is a faithful remake of the immensely popular strategy board game.
· "Eets: Chowdown" from Klei Entertainment Inc. is a completely revamped version of the popular PC title of the same name. It offers new items, 120 new levels and the exclusive debut of Marsho Madness, a high-adrenaline action game in which players must keep the impending evil marshmallows at bay.
· "LUXOR 2," from developer MumboJumbo LLC, sets a new standard for action puzzlers as players match and shoot their way through the land of ancient Egypt.
· "Paperboy," from developer Digital Eclipse and publisher Midway, is a classic coin-op hit, specially enhanced for Xbox Live Arcade.
· "Root Beer Tapper," also from developer Digital Eclipse and publisher Midway, features fast-paced reflex action as players scramble to keep thirsty patrons happy without dropping root beer mugs in the scramble to earn the biggest tips.
· "Worms" from developer Team 17 Software Ltd. features armies of adorable weapon-toting worms locked in tactical combat.

I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.

I noticed that nobody else had posted these screens yet. They're shots of Castlevainia: SOTN, Worms, Alien Hominid HD, Catan, Eets Chowdown, Luxor 2, Band of Bugs, and 3D Ultra Mini-Golf.

Worms better make it through certification soon. I think I've posted it before, but I'm really pumped for it.
Castlevania should be great too. I didn't play it for PS1, so that makes it even more exciting.
XBox Live Arcade on the whole has surprised me as something that I play a lot more than I though it would. The Unplugged disc that came with my 360 has provided me and my gf with a lot of entertainment. I really like Geometry Wars, Wik, and a lot of the arcade games, and she really likes the ones like Bejeweled and Feeding Frenzy.
On the whole, the 360 is a much more fully fledged entertainment unit (not just a video game console) than I thought before I purchased it.

Doesi t have the cover control scheme of RSV?Diablo25 wrote:I finished the GRAW 2 demo last night and it is short...but it is pretty good. Runs much smoother than the last GRAW and the new controls are pretty nice. The Mule (land based drone) is pretty cool also. Can't wait to see how the MP is.

No, the cover system in GRAW 2 is very similar to the one used in Gears of War.Danimal wrote:Doesi t have the cover control scheme of RSV?Diablo25 wrote:I finished the GRAW 2 demo last night and it is short...but it is pretty good. i'd play worms!
play worms....giggle giggle
No offense to any of you guys, but with only so much time in the day, I just don't understand how so many people seem to be getting so much enjoyment out of old school games like Root Beer Tapper and Paperboy. I mean, I loved Crazy Climber and Star Castle growing up, but I don't think I could play either game for more than about 10 minutes anymore..not with those graphics. I guess other people wonder the same thing about me playing MLB on my PSP in an airport.
I agree GT. You seem to have the same tastes as me. I loved all the games you mentioned...I played Crazy Climber like a mad man when i was a kid. Local theater where I used to play them recently burned downGTHobbes wrote:No offense to any of you guys, but with only so much time in the day, I just don't understand how so many people seem to be getting so much enjoyment out of old school games like Root Beer Tapper and Paperboy.
