Wow, all those years (from the beginning in Indy through 98) of going to watch mostly crappy teams...and now they have won the Super Bowl!

The defense was out there way too much. You got to give them credit to just give up those fg's and keep the game close. But 3 and outs and int's for tds will kill you.XXXIV wrote:Grossman was bad ...yeah.... but so was the rest of the team....
Give credit where its due...The better team won....usually the case.
Grats to the Colts ...they dominated...if not for weather and a kick return this would have been a blowout.
Hester's return was great, but i got this werid OSU/Florida feel after it.
Oh I agree on that....The D did wear out the way the Pats D did a couple of weeks ago....I just cant blame Rex for this. Thogh yes he looked like an idiot.Templehorn wrote:The defense was out there way too much. You got to give them credit to just give up those fg's and keep the game close. Winners and Losers after today that did not play on the field :
Ditka/85 Bears = Winners
Dan Marino = Loser , probably was wishing Manning lost so he could have a buddy to be compared to as the best qb never to win a SB.
John Gruden = Loser, ya that was dungy's team you won with.
Archie Manning = winner, obvious. don't have to hear how shitty the saints were and how he never got to the playoffs anymore.
Bill Pollian = finally got one after 4 sb trips with buffalo.

I don't know who is the better coach. Dungy, for the complete transformation of the Colts' defense in the postseason, or Smith, for winning 15 games this season with Rex Grossman at QB.
It's a toss-up. Both coaches are damn good.
Take care,
PK

Not exactly game-related, but these were the WORST group of Super Bowl commercials I can ever remember. They flat-out sucked, from start to finish. The only one that made me even chuckle was the "clean-up needed at checkout 6" Doritos commercial with the fat checkout chick.
And Prince ripped it up pretty good at halftime. The man can f*cking play.
Take care,
PK

Nice career move.
Well if the Bears had played the Charges, Bears would have won, I know it for sure. Chargers would have commited about 4 personal fouls, couple of easy turnovers, and probably would have intercepted rex, got the ball stripped, and had berrian run it back for the game winning td.

I'm telling you, Jeff Saturday was the f*cking MVP of this game.
Really sanders should have been mvp, or one of the rb's. but manning is the coverboy so they gav eit to him.
Manning is ESPNs boy...though I cant realy get upset about it. He played damn well in that weather. See Rex.Templehorn wrote:Dave wrote:F the NBA...give me the Hoosiers, despite their loss at Iowa!pk500 wrote:Congrats, Dave! Now Pacers' season officially starts Thursday.

I was rooting for the Bears, but I can't really get upset that the Colts won tonight. Going into the playoff game last year against the Colts, I thought if you are going to lose to anyone, it might as well be them. They don't talk trash and have a coach that seems to be a genuinely nice guy, so congratulations to them.
I was happy to see Bob Sanders (from Iowa!) play well yet again tonight. He basically saved the Colts season against the Pats with that 3rd down pass breakup late in the game, and then played well again tonight with a huge hit to force a fumble, and then pick late to help seal it. I think the Colts were undefeated in games he played in this year, and I'm happy to see him getting the publicity he deserves.
On a related note, Siam you can add Penn State and Pitt to your list of losers tonight, as Sanders is from Erie, PA and wasn't even recruited by either school.
