My rested heart rate has been about 145 for the last day or so, and doesn't look to get any better soon :)

Sadly enough, this is not the only dream I've had about the Bears this season.
Wow...you dreamers really need to get a hobby. May I suggest Cell phones?

And Rob...enjoy that heartrate...a few more days and you'll be dead at that pace.

Colts are going to win big. I'm not a fan of either team but this is just going to be a buttkicking of biblical proportions.

You guys with the blowouts are nuts.

24-21 Colts, on a field goal by Vinetieri (sp?) in the last minute or so after a nice Manning drive to finish the game off.

I was reading the paper this morning and it hit me: I think the Bears are going to win the Super Bowl. Not that I am any sort of expert.

The first article that I saw was about how lush the grass is on the field in Miami. Usually, when you think about grass, you think about it negating team speed - but the Bears feel like it will be the first fast track they have played on in a while - after running on the the muddy wreck of what was left of the grass on Soldier Field.

The second article was about the 85 Bears and how good they were and how much better they were than the current Bears defense. I think that has got to sting. It might be true - but they don't have to be the 85 Bears to beat the 2006 Colts.

I just think that some people (those that have picked the Colts) may be thinking that the Colts will be playing the defense that the Bears played the last few games of the regular season. And I also think that Grossman is being undervalued. It's not like he is a journeyman QB who has to play within himself and just can't make certain throws. He has the tools and can make the throws - he just comes across as such a goofball and has played a few absolutely terrible games in the regular season. I think he brings a lot more talent to the table than, for example, Trent Dilfer. Give Trent credit - he managed to have a pretty decent run in Baltimore and then Seattle with limited ability. But I think Grossman has more skills.

As for the 85 Bears, I was Giants fan at the time, and that 21-0 loss in the playoffs was maybe the most lopsided 21-0 game in history. That defense was so damn good that when it got to be 14-0, I felt like it was 40-0.

Personally, I am pulling for the Colts. I liked Tony Dungy since his days in Tampa and would like to see him get a ring. Plus, we wouldn't have to read any more stories about how Peyton can't win the big one.

Well why would that give the Bears the advantage? You saw what the horrible field at Soldier did to the Saints. They were all over the place. They had a lot more potent offense than the Colts (as proven by the Stats this year, not by the players per se) and it was negated because of the sh*tty as field...if you can call a mud pit a field. That was to the Bears advantage...a fast track caters to the indoor playing Colts.

<------- My question is will this finally be the year for ol' #81 to get in the HoF. I sure hope so, it's been ridiculous. If Irvin gets in and Monk doesn't, I think it will be a real joke.

I think what he's saying is that the field will seem slow to the Colts, and yet seem quick to the Bears. Personally I think the surface will hurt the Colts D more than their O, but I've been wrong about their D through the playoffs, so we'll see.

Long over due for Monk.
I dont get it.
He has the numbers and three SB rings.
Both Monk and Irvin should get in ...but I agree if Irvin gets in before Monk its a joke....A joke only the bjs at ESPN will be laughing at.

I don't agree with the blowout stuff either. As bad as the Bears offense is, their defense seems to always score points for them so I believe the defense will keep them in the game. I see the Colts winning by 7-10 points with Grossman having possibly the worst stats of any qb in Super Bowl history.

Well, unless he goes 0 for 7 and gets benched Grossman most assuredly won't have the worst stats of any qb in Super Bowl history thanks to Tony Eason. I think Grossman will have a better qb rating in this game than Manning.

Manning cannot win the big one :P

Its not about Manning or Grossman...If it was> Manning 63 Grossman 10 ...Its about the 53 men on both teams. The Bears have the better 53.

I'll say

Colts 24
Bears 31

Only going with the bears because Dungy/Manning are known to have bad big games and the Bears Defense isn't going to get tired like the Pats defense did in the 2nd half.

The amount of utter nonsense I've read from so-called football experts this week is staggering. Most act like the Bears have no chance and that the Colts victory over New England erased their four losses from the regular season, including a loss to the Texans. Or that the Bears held the best offense in the league to 14 points two weeks ago.

Everyone is all on Manning's nuts, but he's thrown 6 picks in three playoff games. The Colts have also fumbled the ball 6 times in those games. That's precisely the kind of sloppiness the Bears defense thrives on.

For all the "Grossman is teh l4m3r" talk, he's thrown one pick in the playoffs, which was completely not his fault as Mushin Muhammed should have caught that pass. He's made some bad throws, but he's protected the football much better than Manning has this postseason.

The Colts kick coverage also looked very shaky last week, and we all know who's returning kicks for Chicago.

I think the Bears continue to avoid turnovers and pound the ball with the run, eventually wearing down the Colts front seven. Indy will put eight men up front to stop it, which will allow Grossman to take a shot downfield with Berrian. Manning will move the ball pretty well outside of the red zone, but just like the Baltimore game, he'll have trouble with the Bears defense once he gets close to the endzone and have to settle for field goals.

Prediction: Bears 23-16

Isn't the field at the Super Bowl site usually treated in such a way to make it faster than normal grass? I remember commentators used to talk about the NFL's turf guru that had to repair messy fields like Candlestick back when the 49ers and Cowboys played in the NFC Championships.

I don't care who wins, I just want to win my office's Super Squares pool. So far none of the scores predicted here will make me a winner. :(

They replaced the entire field at Dolphins stadium...a cool $500,000 is all it cost.

Football Outsiders preview is up, along with a link to their Fox previews. It's gotten to the point where nobody else is even close to these guys when it comes to analysis.

My pick is the Colts.

Of course the Bears defense can create turnovers. But you can't handicap turnovers.
