I think IGN's list shows how uncreative even game developers might be with the wii. Far too many fantasy games trying to be Zelda on the list.

For me, I would like to see more NES style games. Like I said before, a track and field game would be great. A paper mario doesn't pique my interest but hopefully Nintendo will make a killer Super Mario App like the good old days.

I was going to get a Wii but I think I can wait. There's still not much on the wii that justifies a $250 dollar purchase at this point.

Tiger Woods is probably my most anticipated title at this point. I'm not much of a golf fan but i know i could have a lot of fun swinging the Wii remote as a golf club with a more realistic game than Wii Sports.

I just rented Zelda for the Wii and i'm not too impressed. I kind of knew i would feel this way as i've never thought the Zelda games were all that great. The Wii remote controls feel very tacked on and don't add much to the gameplay. I certainly hope future Nintendo games are better than this.

The Cooking Mama game might be fun to play with my girlfriend. As long as the cooking mini games aren't as short as Wario Ware.

I do not see the appeal for Cooking Mama. Maybe it's because I cook for real half the time. Who wants to send their free time pretending to cook? I must be missing something, but I just don't get it.

A cannot wait for Tiger Woods to arrive. Swing Away and Wii sports Golf are fun, but a little to arcadey for me time get into for long. I hear TW will have 18 courses, which is great!

There is not much else on the horizon that stirs a lot of intrest in me. I am intrigued by Battalion Wars 2. I really want to see MLB 2k7, but it looks like The Bigs will have to do for now. I can our family playing a lot of old Gamecube games this year while we wait for some substatial titles.

Here is my Wiish list:
1) A Star Wars lightsaber battle game. Give me Battlefront with the addition of expanded Jedi battles and I'll be in sci-fi geek heaven
2) Wii-lympics. How cool would an Olympics game be with the Wii?
3) Volleyball. With the Wiimote it could be pretty cool.
4) A real baseball game!!!!!
5) Virtua Tennis
6) An old school Need For Speed game like Hot Pursuit 2. I don't want a racing RPG, I just want to evade cops in fast cars.

Tiger will be a good litmus test. Supposedly will require real motion, not just generating acceleration like most of the Wii sports games.

It will show whether third-parties will really make use of the controls and also show whether games with depth will be made for the system.

Virtua Tennis would have to be done in a similar vein. If you want to swing around and hit a forehand instead of a backhand, the motion detection needs to be able to do that, as well as whether you want to hit a top sping or backspin stroke, inside-out swing, etc.

I played a bunch of Rayman Raving Rabbids over the weekend, and I really like it. I'm about 70% through the game, and it's something I can see myself going back and playing to beat scores and/or times and playing with others. I will say that some of the games are somewhat difficult, though, and that non-gamers will have a tougher time just picking this one up than they would with, say, Warioware.

Like many others, I love the dancing, and many other of the games are a blast. The one where you smack the off-key singers may be my favorite. I only dislike the games where you do the 'track & field' style stuff, like wagging the chuk and remote as fast as possible. Thankfully, most of them seemed to be grouped toward the beginning of the game, as I've seen much less of them recently.

I also went back and played some more Tony Hawk before I returned it, and I had a bit of a better time with it. Still not a keeper, but not as sucky as I had first thought. I just think that overall it suffers from clumsy controls.

Mario Kart 64 was released for the VC today and it's the first game i'm actually interested in buying. I would like to know how these games handle the wider aspect ratio of an HDTV. Does it put black bars on the sides or does it just stretch the image? I love Mario Kart but i'm not sure it's really worth buying the game ($10) and four Classic Controllers ($20 a piece) and two more Wii remotes for those controllers to attach to.

Gamecube controllers should work. I would imagine you can find some cheap used ones out there somewhere.

Well it seamlessly hooked into my wifi at home. I didn't even check for a physical ethernet jack, but based on google it doesn't have a wired ethernet connection.

That's nothing, i bowled a 217. I could kick your daughters ass! ;-)

In all seriousness that's damn good for a 3.5 year old. My girlfriend hasn't come close to that and she's been playing it nearly every day. Does your daughter know how to use spin?

Ha, nope. she was having trouble with it trying to mimic daddy. So i told her to bowl like she does at the real lanes, between her legs and wham she is knocking down strikes and spares.

She actually likes Golf better though, which I can't stand in Wi Sports, the thing never registers my swings.

Advisory:

It has been observed that some attempts to fashion a Mii in the likeness of a family member, friend, or other relation -most often female- may be met with outrage, scorn, and or outright hostility. If questions such as:

"Is that supposed to be ME?"

and

"Do you really think I look like THAT?"

are asked, experience and common wisdom indicate that the appropriate and only answer is to be: "no." It is strongly urged that queried parties then claim that the referenced Mii is a representation of someone else, despite evidence to the contrary such as the stark and accusatory Mii appellation.

Be adamant, as even disbelief is better than discord at this juncture, as the latter condition may lead to a fate consisting of nothing but solitary Wii-play.

Your future appreciates your present attention.

Thank you.

I finally got one of these today! I went to Fry's at 8am and there already was a line of about 15 people queued up to get them. Ridiculous!
They had gotten about 50 in, they said.

I haven't had time to fire it up, but I'm really looking forward to it.

Eh, it was just an impulse buy, Mo :) At least according to Sony...

I'm shocked people are still lining up for these things. My little cousin is really bummed out--he saved up $300 last fall and now can't find one anywhere.

With the weather here this weekend, I'm really looking forward to getting back into Zelda.

Here's a clip of Conan playing Serena Williams in Wii Sports Tennis on his show. This is awesome exposure for Nintendo.

Granted, I only have the pack-in sports game/tech demo and I'm a little underwhelmed at this point, but I think the potential of this thing is immense.

I can't wait for a Resident Evil, where I'm sure you'll be able to use flashlights, etc. with the wiimote. I hope hockey games have things where you 'stickhandle' with the wiimote and flick it to shoot...that would be awesome. I could think of tons of stuff. I'm glad I got it, even if right now it's not being played much.

My daughter just set the new record in our house on bowling.

She gets a 9 in the first frame, the proceeds to get 6 strikes in a row. But in the 8th frame she has a 7-10 split, I'm like just get one down honey. She knocks down the spare, follows that with another spare and then strikes out in the 10th frame for a 245 and a new household record.

I'm hoping I can teach her wow this weekend, because I am having trouble with a level 21 Elite quest :)

That's an impressive score! My father-in-law broke the 200 barrier his first time playing by picking up every spare imaginable, it was crazy. I've only managed to break 200 once.

This makes me want to play more Wii Sports but I can't stop playing Need For Speed Carbon. I freaking love that game for some reason.

I recently got Super Swing Golf, and it is better than Wii Golf. I like the swing mechanics but the putting seems abit uneven (or that I just suck). I recommend this game if anyone is looking for a decent Wii golf game.

Glad to hear that you guys are having a blast with the Wii. Personally, the "fun" factor has worn off for me. Maybe it'll come back when a good sports game comes out. I sure hope so. :?
