old school gaming at its best.My biggest complaint with this game is the boss battles, I hate boss battles you have to replay just because you have to learn the "trick"

I played this online last night and had a great time even though I didn't really know what the hell I was doing. I'm up for a DSP night for sure.webdanzer wrote:Do we have enough guys that have this to call out a poker night? I'd like to give MP a shot.

The single player of this game gets pretty damn good!
Things start to get really crazy right around mission five, and then combats get incredibly intense! Missile contrails, plasma blasts, giant machines, giant bugs...wow!
I'm enjoying the heck out of this one right now, with my only complaint being that it looks like I'm only a couple more hours from finishing the game on normal level. It is definitely the type of game where I would go back and do it again on the harder levels, though.
Not quite as sold on the multiplayer yet, but if you liked the single player demo, treat that as the *beginning* of where this game will go. It gets crazy, and it is a lot of fun.

I'm glad someone else is feeling this one. I was ready to slap this game up on Ebay after the first mission, but that would have been a huge mistake. By the time I hit mission 5 I was thinking to myself that Lost Planet may be one of the most fun single player games I've played since Dead Rising. At this point I can't wait for the next Capcom game to hit the 360.webdanzer wrote:The single player of this game gets pretty damn good!

Fun stuff!!!!
Multiplayer is starting to grow on me now too, after some Post games in a room full of decent guys. Spooky's right in that it sorta plays like a Battlefield or Battlefront, but heavily mixed with the Capcom action game style.
There is a lot of fun to be had with the grapple and the machines. It's wild to see guys springing out of the lake in front of you after they used an underwater grapple, stuff like that.
I'm up to the end of level 9 single player, and there is no doubt I'll be finishing the game. It's doing a great job of compelling me to go on, much like -as BTM said- Dead Rising before it.

A quick update...
I absolutely love this game and still have yet to play it past the 2nd level and with any "friends" in multiplayer!!!
the freakin' MP aspect is so damn cool and fun. Tha maps are sick and the gameplay is so cool! I just learned that I can hang from my grapple and shoot!!!! How sweet is that. Grapple on to a high ceiling or tall ledge and then drop down a tad and just hang there in mid air and pick people off!
I also love the the mech's weapons can fall off or are scattered throughout the maps to use outside of a mech. Kind of balances things out.

Due to a Gamefly gaffe I still don't have this game. Now I have to wait for the game they shipped to arrive so I can send it back and get this game. By the time it comes I'm sure there will be a new flavor of the month.
Hopefully single-player will be good.

You of all people will love this game. I know there is not enough DSP support for it (unfortunately) for a solid MP experience but this thing is awesome. Trade in your Wii for it maybe?!?!?!

I'm going to try to hold onto my copy for a while. I think Zeppo is waiting on this from Gamefly too.ScoopBrady wrote:Due to a Gamefly gaffe I still don't have this game. I don't foresee any new "flavors" coming out until March/April at least. Maybe Battlestations/Midway??? Haven't really heard any buzz on this one...

Ugh. Effin' GameFly sent the Star Trek game instead of LP today, so it looks like I won't be getting LP for a while if at all. I forgot to clean up my queue, and they sent the one they had ready to go.Fshguy wrote:I'm going to try to hold onto my copy for a while. Oh well, maybe I'll give it a shot once it hits bargain-bin status in the late-summer lull. The soonest I could get it from GameFly is about two weeks if I sent the other one I have back today.

I am extremely curious on why this game is not getting more DSP love. I think this game is turning out to be as much of a "purchase no-brainer" as RS:V and GoW.

At least you got a new game back Zep. They sent me the game I had just sent back to them.
It's a long story but it had to do with the customer service after I reported a shipping problem. Needless to say they didn't read a word I wrote.

I can only speak for myself, but I pretty much hate the Battlefield/Battleground gameplay. The more similarities I hear about, the easier it is for me to pass this one up.Spooky wrote:

I should have it arriving from gamefly in the next day or two. I enjoyed the single player demo but was quite frustrated with the multi-player demo. I'm hoping it was just the group I was playing with but it just seemed very hectic and nobody seemed to have any idea what we were supposed to be doing.
Sounds like you need to up your plan...Zeppo wrote: Ugh. Effin' GameFly sent the Star Trek game instead of LP today, so it looks like I won't be getting LP for a while if at all. I forgot to clean up my queue, and they sent the one they had ready to go.

My Gamefly copy arrived last night, and I was underwhelmed with it (as I've read a lot of people were after 1 level). The aiming system was bizarre, the guy seems like he's running in molasses all of the time, but the LB/RB method of snapping 90 degrees seemed to help some. I wasn't really blown away by it, though.
You guys said it gets better and everything starts to "make sense" later on?
