I hate to be cynical, but to me, the tradition for most bowls went out the door with corporate sponsorship. The Peach Bowl in Atlanta is no more - we now have the vast tradition of the Chick-Fil-A bowl. And who can think of the Fiesta Bowl without Tostitos?

And the human factor, to me, is just a joke. I am an FSU fan, but I still think that in 1993 it should have been at least a split National Championship between FSU and Notre Dame. But a lot of voters gave it to Bobby, because Lou already had a ring and it was "Bobby's turn." That is a joke. Same thing the next year when Nebraska got a ring for Tom Osborne and an undefeated Penn State got nothing because JoPa already had some hardware (and gave up a few meaningless TDs late in a conference win).

How many voters changed their vote this year not because they felt Florida was better than Michigan, but simply to avoid a rematch in the title game? Things worked out, but for the wrong reasons.

We need a playoff. One of the big reasons we need a playoff is that you get some teams that are very hard to read because they don't play out of conference games against good competition. It is often hard to rate a conference until you see them in bowl games against top teams. And by then it is too late.

The voters were impressed with the way they almost got 100 yds of offense.
I was surprised to see them still at #2, but I wonder if the BCS title loser automatically gets ranked #2?

Someone should remind the USA Today pollsters that Penn State beat Tennessee in the Outback Bowl. Maybe they forgot due to the week lag between the bowls and the voting.

Good question...Im not sure but I know that probably isnt the case in at least one of the polls as there has been at least one split title in the bcs era...USC/LSU a few of years back...

Hey, that reminds me - when is my Chick-Fil-A cow coming? Got through on the website during the chicken bowl and want it now!

This season has been a disaster for the BCS all-around really. I would love to see it crumble, but unfortunately...it's here to stay.

Mitch Mustain is going to transfer away from Arkansas. What a total disaster that whole thing was with his high school coach, his teammates, parents, the works. I guess he will go somewhere that Mommy and Daddy can call the plays. That whole situation reflected badly on the kids, Houston Nutt, the parents, everyone involved.

Call me narrow minded, but a college football player who has to get their mommy and daddy involved in their career might just as well put on a pretty little dress and play with Barbie dolls.
