If my math's right after this week were going to have a 3 way tie for the #1 spot and a few guys nipping at the heels. I've got 8 points to make up in two weeks, so can't see that happening. boy did the Bears and Ravens screw me today.

One more week to go, looks like it's a two horse race with Sully in the lead at 123-117 for the season, and I'm right behind at an even 120-120.
Ouch.
Ouch.

Those are the types of records you are going to end up with when you pick every game and use point spreads, which are by their very nature skewed to make things even! I hope we go back to the old format next year, but it has nothing to do with the fact I wonjondiehl wrote:Sully in the lead at 123-117 for the season, and I'm right behind at an even 120-120.

Oh yeah, no doubt. Anything better than .500 against the spread and you can declare yourself an "expert" prognosticator and setup a 900 line.Leebo33 wrote:Those are the types of records you are going to end up with when you pick every game and use point spreads, which are by their very nature skewed to make things even! My record in my neighborhood pool (no spread) is 152-88, and I'm not even in 1st place. The spread makes it interesting I guess and makes you think about each and every game, including those mid-season Chicago vs Arizona type of matchups. In no-spread leagues, there seems to be only a handful of games each week that the weekly winner comes down to, as the heavy favorites are usually a consensus pick and only the lucky idiot that takes the huge underdog ends up winning for the week (usually, those type of players make multiple wild picks so their lucky ones end up balancing out with the other really bad picks that end up losing).

Too little, too late I guess. I'm shocked that I ended up one 1 game out of 1st place having not won a single week all season.
