Hey Wait A Mintue - It's Tuesday (R6)

Post by Zeppo »

Oops. I realize I am late to post this, but anyone up for some R6 tonight?

10:30p E would be the time to get started. Our impromptu attack/ defend the other night was fun. Who's up for more tonight?

I'll be on a bit later, but I'd be up for it. Always looking forward to playing the "Can You Hear Me Now" mini-game :)

Good games, guys. The single spawns, with restricted frags, is growing on me. It's great that the chat is fixed. A lot of communication between squadmates, which is always a plus.

That was some good times last night. I'm really liking the slow pace of the games and the lack of frags.

Sorry I missed out fellas. I was just getting ready to hop on and play when I received an instant message to play a league game of Madden.

Good games, but after my showing last night I may not play next time out of embarsment. I usually hold my own during the tactical shooters, but last night i had 1 kill in all those games. I am simply disgusted with myself right now.

It must be nice to be able to finish several rounds in a row while playing this game online. Too bad I wouldn't happen to know anything about that.

Ah, get over it. Seriously, you should've seen me the other night in GoW. Plus, in Rainbow, the way we play you may not even discharge your weapon for a few rounds in a row.:D Actually, it's not nearly as bad as GR2 or GRAW in that respect, but you get the idea.

There were some really great rounds last night. Doing the same map three times seems to make that last round really intense.

Teal didn't think we'd have enough to leave co-op, but even I was impressed that we got a bunch of rounds in with 6 on 6 or 7 on 7. I'm glad to see the OSers coming around to the no-spawn, best-of-three thing, even as I am starting to wonder how a few rounds of cannisters with spawns and frags might spice things up!

I was very frustrated in Dante's when my fixed weapon proved to be not nearly as effective as the pea shooter that hit me in the face from across the universe  There is a lot of weird weapon balancing problems it seems to me. I feel like I can only kill people with one or two weapons in mulitplayer, the others don't do enough damage or I don't know how to use them, but then I get killed by a submachine gun from a mile away.

I don't even know what other modes there are, all I've ever played in attack & defend. :D

Given the way the UMP45 performs with a rifle scope, I can't imagine why anyone would ever use a sniper rifle in this game. Unless you wanted to hit someone from all the way (length-wise) across the Dam map, which would pretty much happen never. Otherwise, the UMP45 is an amazing sniping weapon.

I like the no-spawn because it forces people to stick together and communicate. Plus, most of the maps in this game are small enough that there's not a ton of standing around while people take 10 minutes to complete a round. That's my main complaint in playing no-spawn in other games like GRAW. Die and then watch someone lie in tall grass for 10 minutes.

I don't know how y'all feel about it, but it might be a good idea to turn off the dead person chatter too. It's kind of lame for someone to die and then say, "He's over on the right."

Yes, yes, yes. I can only suspend my disbelief so far...and then there's that pesky 'but the ghosts told me where you were' stuff...

Same for the onscreen radar, although there could be a plausible case for some type of infrared/motion detection radar...

Wow, that's my absolute no. 1 complaint. Rounds are still taking a while. I'm thinking about getting a PSP so I have something to do while I watch Tealboy hide in a corner and play with his C4...even when he's assaulting :)
